In case you have not found anything yet, I just bought a prusa i3 from these guys here: and I can recommend the prusa i3 master kit. I hope the same quality is in their other parts. So you might want to save yourself the hassle and just go for the 70€ parts kit and start building your printer ;-) Where you from? Germany? Alexvon Alexander1984 - Extruded Aluminum Frames
the prusa i3 is a great little printer, but has it`s flaws. improve it by using this brace: and this set of "insulators" to get rid of any z-wobble: also using way bigger washers helps considerably! mine have a 10mm inner hole diameter and 30mm! outer Dia. If you use longer threaded rods on the Y-sub-frame you could easily connect the printers very top edge to the poutsides of the threadvon Alexander1984 - General Mendel Topics
mine used to do the same! 3 possible solutions: 1. slow down to max 3mm/sec movements in Firmware 2. adjust the voltage slightly. When I gave my Z-motors a little more voltage, they did not do this anymore 3. you may want to re-check if both sides are at exact! same height - measure with a caliper - (rather adjust for any imbalance via the bed )- because you do not want binding on the Z-axis lvon Alexander1984 - General Mendel Topics
well after about 8-10 firmware flashes which did not bring me any luck, I did solve it. So anybody who might have a similar problem: I mounted the Y-axis so that the motor is in front, but installed the endstop-min at the back. thus I could go "more" to the back, since that is direction of maximum position and not minimum. so either mount y-axs different or attach endstop at front. no one? any idea would help... I currently are left and cannot use the printer because of this issue Alexvon Alexander1984 - General Mendel Topics
Hello guys, I am relatively new to the whole rep rap world. I used to have a "Powerwasp EVO 3D Priner" for a couple of months, but sold it again, after several shortcomings I was not happy with. I recently purchased a prusa i3 Kit from 3dprinters-shop.com in Spain and after a quick delivery to Germay, everything went smooth with building and setup. Just one thing I cannot figure out: I am usinvon Alexander1984 - General Mendel Topics
Did you consider the possibility of an accumulation error caused by slightly off Z-hieght? What i mean: - depending on your Pulley/Steps per mm of Z - Setup, I would suggest exactly calculating the correspondingZ-Layer height for your printer. Often it will not be like 0.1 or 0.2mm because every 5th or every 10th line that results in some fractions of a mm error. I think there is this prusa calvon Alexander1984 - General Mendel Topics
Hey Evan! It´s me, Alex. Contacted you via Youtube early in your build (kniefi). I just registered on here so I can comment on things (have been reading for quite some time, but figured I was already registered at way too many forums). What I saw from that last video seems like a lack of cooling the filament after being extruded. You should definately get some sort of fan blowing at the PLA sivon Alexander1984 - Extruded Aluminum Frames
