oops, somehow I must have blocked that information in the manual from my mind thanks ,will check it.von muelli - Mendel90
I think its ABS... If you print a full plate and something goes wrong during print, you throw away the full platevon muelli - Mendel90
I installed Python 2.7.5 and started skeinforge and.... holy crap! from what century is this tool? 1985? the whole product seems to be completely unusable. Is there some kind of howto for setting this dinosaur up and getting it to slice with the mendel90?von muelli - Mendel90
I switched to 1 perimeter, it seems to be marginally better, now slic3r spat one tiny spot of filament into the teeth of the gear. but so small, it hardly is visible :/ I cannot find windows executables for skeinforge, only python sources :/von muelli - Mendel90
I use the default of 3 perimeters.... I will try and use only one. thanks for the hint. Really? You mean, slic3r does not make accurate dimensions? Ôovon muelli - Mendel90
Hi, I have still problems with small infills. I am slicing with slic3er 0.9.9-dev, which worked great so far. But for some reason, slic3r thinks, it cannot fit in a filling to the small wade gear , for example. Everything else seems to be perfectly calibrated at the printer but I just cannot get it to fill these fine structures. Someone gave me the hint to change the infill ratio in slicer, butvon muelli - Mendel90
Hi, has anyone enabled the optional cooling fan on the mendel90? The one that sits in the back side of the mendel.... How can it be achieved? thanks!von muelli - Mendel90
2) had this too, no idea why! 3) I use sugar-water on the bed, applied with a brush. it works perfectly and even the smalles objects and/or edges wont lift. give it a try.von muelli - Mendel90

what has bed temperature to do with objects that are being built into height? you mean, I should cool more?von muelli - Mendel90
Hi, so far I think my calibration is done. But I have still some trouble with objects, that get wider (or smaller) with the print. For example spheres, that start small and then later layers are attached to the "side" of the layer beneath. I hope you know what I mean These new layers seem to deform very fast and cooling is not helping somehow. Is there a faq for calibrating these things? thavon muelli - Mendel90
by the way: should the smooth rods be oiled/greased ?von muelli - Mendel90
uh? very strange, i sliced it with the latest slice3r without any problems. did you try running it through a cleaning service?von muelli - Mendel90
fixed. 5min epoxy works just fine.von muelli - Mendel90
same problem here, I was again leveling my bed, looking to not applay to much NM to the fan screw but alas, no luck. The nut turns with the screw now I have to disassemble the whole carriage again. aaaaarghvon muelli - Mendel90
I just read that 1-4m cables seem to be working. But I have interference with the original cable, so longer is not better.... btw: this is my camera holder and case. I modified the case to have a cylinder with hole in it to fit to the holder. case: holder:von muelli - Mendel90
Hi I just got filement from a local supplier that has - contrary to the faberdashery filament - a very rough surface. Therefore the friction within the PTFE tube is quite high. This friction causes the PTFE tubing to be nearly (it is not, but the end of the PTFE tubing is deformed) pulled into the hole of the extruder. Additionally, I seem to have getting some problems lately with this materialvon muelli - Mendel90
Welches Filament hast Du denn?
@bastard: the flex cable passes through the hole for the network port. that is why I picked this case, it is one of the smallest I have ever seen and does not cover the connectors. @ralfsteck: I use a wifi adapter and therfore have a holder for the camera that is placed in the ethernet socket. onto this holder I can stick the pi camera in a case and it then films directly at the heatbed. flex cavon muelli - Mendel90
If someone is interested, I modified a thingiverse case and added 2 mounting holes to it, so the raspberry can be mounted on the opposite side of the melzi board using the lower two melzi screws. Just remove the nylonic nuts, add the raspi case and rescrew the nuts.von muelli - Mendel90
I think double extruder could be a benefit of bowden mod. I do not see how you could fit a double direct extruder on the x axe....von muelli - Mendel90
I tried this' but did not see anything.....von muelli - Mendel90
I got octoprint running now... How on earth does this gcode viewer work? I see the tab and the zoomable grid, but how can I display something there?von muelli - Mendel90
Thanks for all the info bastard Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > The melzi has a SD-card ... why don't you use it? > You can it use with Octopi as well. I hate fiddling around with the microSD<->USB adapter. And uploading via serial to the SD card is a slow pain in the butt. So slooooooooooowvon muelli - Mendel90
