the videos look like they move independently....von muelli - Mendel90
Hi Someone claims to have implemented an auto bed leveling technique in software with a mendel90: I wondered how this is possible with two Z motors in serial connection and if there is some kind of exessive wear on the brass(?) nut on the threaded rods when the Z axis is moving constantly... Anyone tried?von muelli - Mendel90
haven't found a tripod yet, but I experimented with the "flow rate" under the speed settings. I set it to 45.0 and now the surfaces come out perfect! Is there a way to calculate a good flow rate or is trial and error the "right" way to do itvon muelli - Mendel90
the ideas now leave only one question open, which 12V supply at the X carriage is save to use for supplying the LEDs without disturbing things?von muelli - Mendel90
actually I use the fan, so I have to get power elsewhere.... oh yes those led strips are an idea, but are they bright enough? hmmmvon muelli - Mendel90
My M90 is standing in a quite dark area. Instead of using the flashlight to control the print, I thought about illuminating the area around the nozzle and the printing bed. The printing bed can be illuminated by placing LEDs around the vertical dibond "arc", no problem. But the nozzle.... I thought about reprinting the fan duct and plaing slots for 5mm LEDs around it. But I have not yet tried tovon muelli - Mendel90
@nophead: yes, calibrated E steps with this plastic and spring tension. re-measured right now, averaged over the different measuring points no change. the stuff is quite good quality. @intellitom: will do ASAP! Maybe with a better picture the problem shows even better. Have to find a tripod or sth that will do. But I am not quite sure if taking the picture from directly above will show the roughvon muelli - Mendel90
I got another camera and took a macro picture of the testobject. I hope it is now easier to see what I talk aboutvon muelli - Mendel90
I can offer sclic3r 0.9.10b settings which work very good for me. check the start/end gcode to suit your needs. it contains priming sequences etc.von muelli - Mendel90
I followed the manual in that point and uploaded the android.gcode and printed using pronterface. that came out quite like the picture in the manual. I will try to get a better camera, I just have a cell phone at handvon muelli - Mendel90
@nophead: this is not the faberdashery filament. It is new one which is more close to 3mm However the android printed well, but i sliced it with slicer/pronterface I just sliced this lithopane with slic3r and printed it, it is extremely layer and infill sensitive. It printed great! Seems to be a setting problem in skeinforge....von muelli - Mendel90
wouldn't that impact on any slicer? and only on the first few layers?von muelli - Mendel90
I have re-calibrated the extruder steps with 100mm extrude liek in the manual. After doing it a few times, I come now close to the capabilities of my (cheap) digital calipers, so I think this might be the best I can do. Again, I checked the filament diameter (which in average is quite close to 3.0mm) and fed this into skeinforge with filament packing densitiy of 1. I then printed my testobject agvon muelli - Mendel90
OK, will do it again with 100mm! thanks. I read a lot about the X/Y steps and calibration of these. Is this already pre-calibrated in the firmware?von muelli - Mendel90
nophead: i calibrated my extruder if i extrude 20mm, it extrudes 20mm. in slicer or kisslicer it works. shouldnt it work in skeinforge then too? however, i have to set extrusion modifier to 0.93 in slicer, but cannot find that option in skeinforge. it also does not reduce extrusion temp after the first layer, i do not understand why. i will play around with it a little more today.von muelli - Mendel90
Yes, I can select PLA profiles. Right now it prints using the PLA 0.2 profile. Once again, very fast. Using slic3r, everything is much slower. I fiddled around with the PLA dimensions but it still uses to much filament which makes a thick and rough surface. I will make a video tomorrow and upload it to youtube, so you anybody able to help can take a look. But now, I have had enough for today Sovon muelli - Mendel90
As everybody (especially nophead in several threads *g*) is pushing me towards skeinforge, I will give it another try, following your tips, Nilez. Instead of copying the profiles and alterations directory into my user, I had to copy it into the skeinforge_application folder. I then loaded a STL file and it exported something and it seems to be printing it, but very fast so the bottom layer does nvon muelli - Mendel90
skeinforge is to complicated for me to understand. I gave up on thatvon muelli - Slic3r
ok thanks, but that is bad news right now I tried kisslicer but that tool has even more problems with the 0.5mm wall Is there something that "just works"?von muelli - Slic3r
with "real width" I mean what is the width of the wall I measure with my calipers. for testing I specified the extrusion width manually to 0.4mm and the 0.5mm thin wall came out as 0.4mm. slic3r does not slice the object to make it come out with 0.5mm walls as defined in the STL. that is my problem, because then all dimensions in the CAD are not correct. I create a testobject lets say 20x20x20mvon muelli - Slic3r
Ne, funzt nicht. Mit Deinen Settings und mit welchen für den Mendel90 aus dem kisslicer forum auch nicht. Das kommt dabei raus, siehe anhang. Jeweils das 0.5mm thin wall objektvon muelli - Software
Thanks, but I know that. The 200% where just a test to see if slic3r can print 0.4mm width walls. When I manually set it to 0.4mm for example, then slicer prints all perimeters with 0.4mm regardless what there real width is. That cannot be correct...von muelli - Slic3r
Hi all, I have a problem with extrusion width. I have a 0.4mm nozzle and layer height set to 0.2mm. When slicing the 0.5mm thin wall, this gives a extrusion width in the gcode file of 0.67mm I can calibrate it to come out in 0.67mm very well. However... how can I make slic3r print the 0.5mm wall actually in 0.5mm and not 0.67mm? When I set manual extrusion width to 200% (which is then 0.4mm) itvon muelli - Slic3r
Danke! Habe es mal eingespielt. Wieso hast Du absolut E Type Werte eingestellt?
hm nanual does not say much about skeinforge. I tried to get it to work but so far the mendel creates only weird noise and snail-like movements. I wonder how one can get along with this software... The wiki is also not very helpful if coming from slic3r......von muelli - Mendel90
