We saw this problem to and are now developing a printer with a xy-bed and a only moving z-axis. As you can see in the video our aluminium rebuilt of the mendel as no problems to move but i might be because the mechanic is very smooth operating. The other idea is to remove the granulate-extruder completly from the printer just creating 3mm filament.von repbotatbavaria - General
Sounds perfect. Out research shows up the need of a little bigger extrusion barrel for a better melting up the materials. So the weight will grow to ∼2,5 kg.von repbotatbavaria - General
The mounting frame is no problem to produce. Maybe we have to adapt the funnel for the different printers.von repbotatbavaria - General
Hi Ketil, we are working on a adaption but our main target is to develop a granulate-extruder for printers like Makerbot. To use with Reprap we have the problem of weight (1,5kg/3,3lb). But maybe someone can tell us if his makerbot can handle this . Pace! Marcelvon repbotatbavaria - General
We work it out and now our granulates-extruder ist doing his first job. The head is made of kevlar to have a good insulation we also use Peek but in case of changing the heating from a wire to heatinbound we need a bigger diameter so we had to change. The bot itself is a cnc milled aluminium construction in a advanced Reprap-Design wit a very high accurancy of a tenth more milimeter on xyz-axis,von repbotatbavaria - General

Servus miteinand!
Hi Grogyan thanks for your attention and thanks for a nice idea! We will try during next weekend to extrude some shredderd lids and look if and how this will work! Stay tuned!von repbotatbavaria - General
Thanks for showing up this problem but we can tell you that our idea don´t use such material. Once our extruder is able to extrude every kind of plastic we will attach a small "home-work" shredder so you´re able to recycle all your plastic-waste on your own. We are sure that we will meet some problems we can´t see yet but our passion will fix all of these hopefullyvon repbotatbavaria - General
Hi richrap, yesterday we had some trouble with the sharpens. Because we designed it too flat the extruded material was moved away. So we haven´t printed something other than our faden At the moment we use a special material which brought to us by a friend. I can´t remember the name but i will have a look! hello world! We are new on this forum and what to make first a short presentation of us an our development. We are a team of two guys from Bavaria in Germany. Since 6 months we´re working on a very precisely Aluminium-Version of the Makerbot. Further we are developing a granulates-extruder and today we had our first success extruding a long string with granulate as base-material (see pictures).von repbotatbavaria - General
