This feature is built into Marlin already. You just need to set the extruder fan pin number, threshold temperature and PWM value (0-255). This way you don't have any GCODE modifications to turn on this fan. Uklan is correct, you don't want to shut off the fan immediately after a print stops. This feature allows your hot end to properly cool before turning off the fan to avoid heat creep.

I use Repetier Host to load up and arrange all my STL files. From there you can save the group into a single file that you know is arranged for your build plate.

Are you able to move the axes using Repetier Host? Maybe post a screen shot of the host program so we don't play 20 questions to narrow down the issue.

I have used RAMPS, Rumba, and Rambo.
The RAMPS board is great and is by far the best value. I really like how the assembly is modular which allows for the replacement of individual components such as the stepper drivers and Arduino board. A common issue with this board is problems with the thermal fuses. The fuses are easy to switch out and I believe you can get a version that uses blade st

They have a contact link. Did you try asking them?

I am going to guess that you pasted the config file for you printer. It looks like the standard file straight from the github repository without any modifications.
Step 1:
Change #define MOTHERBOARD 7 to #define MOTHERBOARD 33
This is a pretty standard RAMPS configuration.
Step 2:
Change //#define REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER to #define REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_C

That was what I ended up having to do. Switching to a new Arduino was the ultimate solution for me.

I had a version of this problem.
My voltage regulator on the arduino went bad, so I wasn't getting 5 volts to the controller. This didn't allow the arduino to power unless it was plugged into usb. You can check this on one of the RAMPS 5volt pins while only connected to your power supply. I think I just had a bum arduino in the first place, so this problem may not be as common.

A2,
I am not able to identify with your website issues. The selection for me is similar to sites like McMaster-Carr. You have a category and then narrow down the selection. The only thing I will mention is that you have to put in a little bit of time to decipher their categories. Once that is figured, you are home free to select your components. If you can't decide narrow the search down to

I did the same thing with Black ABS from monoprice. It looked like it broke down in the acetone, but there was no color change in the solution. Leaving the pieces over night left a melted black piece on the bottom of the jar. I thought maybe it was the Lowes/Home Depot acetone, but I did the same test with gold filament from another supplier and it dissolved just as tmorris9 describes.

More up to date comparison of J Head Clones!
I was having a similar issue where the hobbed bolt would start failing after a certain print time. It turned out I had a worn hobbed bolt, AND the filament was sliding away from the toothed section of the bolt.
A new bolt and making sure the filament remained centered on the toothed part of the bolt really helped out.

Dual purpose! I see that top one holding the light strip too. I have a printed clip/hook/whatever that does the same as the binder clip. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, kind of. You run G28 and then G29 and then the bed leveling information is stored on your controller until you run G28 (home axes) again. G28 clears the levelling data.
Since it isn't very time consuming, I have my custom start gcode run the G28 and G29 to reset the leveling information before each print. I am sure this isn't absolutely necessary, but to me it is worth it to reset the ho

The leveling sequence requires a G28 then a G29 command to run. Does your GCODE have both?
It might help to paste in the sections of your Configuration.h file and the start of the GCODE you are running to this forum so we can review it.

You say it is pretty good, but is it 35 dollars good (assuming this will be their retail price)? Most users are already mixing acetone and abs and have various methods for applying it. I guess you could frame the trade-off as getting a roll of filament or this product.

I can really appreciate the effort put into this testing and I see that you will get good comparable data for materials. By pulling at the holes you are measuring the tear-out strength of the piece which has as much to do with the geometry as it does the material strength. In fact, tear-out stress is calculated as 1/2(F/lt) where F is the load applied, l is the distance from the edge of the hol

When you say use a drill bit, I am assuming you mean to grab the bit by hand and twist it on the softened filament to grip and pull it out right? I guess if you are careful and more sure-handed then I am, actually using a drill could be a solution.

This is evaporative cooling using the compound used to pressurize the can. I don't know exactly what it is you would be spraying all over but it might be important for you to look into it first and make sure there are no inhalation hazards on the safety data sheet. While the cooling may be quick and effective, there could be a trade-off of respiratory irritation.

I like the idea of the Tantillus and my initial idea was to work out something similar to that starting with the concepts displayed on the Ingentis (youmagine link, discussion thread) as a base.

Extruded Aluminum Frames
I have been starting a similar project. The MendelMax is a very nice printer, but (like you have mentioned) there are issues that could be improved. The available hardware is an excellent starting point and I would be interested to see what sketches/concepts you have. To gather information on what hardware is available to work with, I have started creating a full assembly model of all the part
