Thank you, will try moving the XYZ axes with the temperature on, and will look for breaks.
But i realized, when i saw that my mintemp was set to 5 in marlin, that it's not possible that it's getting triggered, because room temperature is 35 C. So does this point at there being something wrong on the side of the temperature measurement?
Also, I looked at the log, and in some places, the temperatur
Hi,
everytime I start a print, after a few hours (almost always after the same amount of time) the print is halted because it says the extruder has triggered the mintemp but right before i get the message that the mintemp has been triggered by the extruder, there are a series of "cold extrusion prevented" until it shuts down. The other weird thing happening, is that sometimes, the extruder temper
Hi,
My printer stopped printing during a few prints, and i found that the extruder had stopped heating, and the motors had stopped running. I wanted to verify whether it was my fuse that had turned bad or there was some kind of short in my circuitry.
With the power switched on, none of my appliances drew any current. However, the RAMPS board drew about 0.16 amps.
Is that normal?
If that is nor
Hi,
Thanks for the advice
But which kind of fuse should i get? A 12V 5A one will work? Or would you recommend a higher rated fuse? This is for replacing the fuse for my extruder motors etc.
Hi,
I've been using my 3d printer for about 6 months, with the extruder heating up perfectly fine. Suddenly, it has stopped heating in the middle of prints, i checked the 5amp polyfuse and it was extremely hot. When it cooled down again, it was fine. Now it has been triggering very fast, which means heating up much faster than it ever did. I don't know what to do next, because everywhere, people
Hi,
I hooked up my RAMPS 1.4 to my 3d printer, and got everything to work except the x and y axis motors. When I try and rotate them on repetier, they make a loud sound and stutter and then move a little bit very very roughly. but when I make my Z motor turn, again through repetier, it works perfectly, smoothly and without any sound.
I tested all the drivers, and all of them worked. next I tried
hi,
I'm having a tough time controlling my stepper motors through repetier host. I think it's got to do with the wiring of my motors to the ramps board. On the ramps board there are 4 slots for wires, which are called 1a, 1b, 2a, and 2b. Now my stepper motors wires are called A+ (green wire), A- (black wire), B+ (red wire) and B- (blue wire). which color wire goes into which slot on the ramps boa
hi,
I'm using RAMPS 1.4.
When I open repetier host, my heatbed temperature shows approximately 29 degrees Celsius, but my extruder temperature says that it's 0 degrees, which is not possible. I checked all my wiring and nothing seems to be wrong. So I'm guessing it's a problem with the firmware. If it is, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? I'm using Marlin firmware.
Thanks a lot, Mit
Hi,
the stepper drivers I'm using are the L298N. Then I used the L297 to control the step and direction of the motors.
The 4 steppers I have are powered up not through the RAMPS board but through the L298n drivers. that means When I connect the drivers to the RAMPS, I dont need to worry about power for the motors. All I need to understand is how I can wire only the drivers to the RAMPS board so
Hi,
I want to buy a RAMPS 1.4 controller board for my arduino mega.
First, I saw that there are 2 inputs for power. one is for 5 amps and the other is for 11 amps. Now, my 12v @ 15 amps power supply has 2 output ports each giving out 15 amps. how would I attach my power supply to the RAMPS board. will anything bad happen if I attach 12v @ 15a to both the ports of the RAMPS input? If this will wor
Hi,
I've been building a 3d printer for sometime now, and I'm ONLY using an arduino mega and repetier host. What I want to try is to control my 3d printer the way a ramps board would and creating similar ways of controlling the appliances (since i already have them all) the way the ramps board would.
I have 4 stepper drivers controlling the step and dir of each motor and connected into the arduin
Hi,
I've been working on a 3d printer and i've come to the last step, which is wiring it all up.
the 3d printer I'm making is ONLY with the arduino mega. No ramps. If I need to get ramps later , I will, but for now, can someone please help me understand which of the ramps pin goes with which arduino pin. For example, in the repetier firmware, the code is like this:
#define X_STEP_PIN 54
Hi, I'm completely new to this so i know nothing about teacup.
I'm using an arduino uno and the teacup firmware. I had some trouble opening teacup after I downloaded it. I downloaded the Teacup firmware master branch package from rep rap wiki. I followed the instructions on Rep Rap wiki but i didn't understand how to set it up. they said to double click on the configtool.py, which i did, but the
