Good morning,
thankyou, I found this last night. I was looking in the wrong place at first. In the Printer menu at the top of the window, it showed the scripts greyed out and I thought they had to be created some other way. Then I found how to do it (I think) in the Gcode section.
When I started doing this, the application started crashing badly enough to want to send error reports to Apple. I

Hi tmorris9.
There is a thread in the Repetier forum with the same name as this (remember I posted incorrectly in the first place ?)
That thread "rounds out" the info given in this thread if you'd like to take a look. I found it helpful in understanding how the two programs work together.

Hi,
I believe I saw an answer to my wish before. I'd really like custom buttons (a little like pronterface) that I could configure for head positioning whilst bed-levelling.
I don't believe Host supports this but I understand that this could still be achieved by configuring the scripts 1-5.
I've checked the documentation, but I can't find the information on the script files. i.e creation- modi

Hi,
thanks for your reply.
Maybe I didn't understand what you said properly - you said that when the host sends a file to the sd card in the printer :-
"It adds commands to disable extruder/bed/go park position if set in printer configuration."
I've just sliced something and looked in tempobj.gcode and those commands are already there (Which pleases me )

Hi,
thanks for the reply.
It's interesting (but not important) that Slic3r creates an additional ini file in the workdir. The ini file in ~/Library/Application Support/Slic3r just contains the names of the currently selected print, filament and printer settings (and a couple of other things)
The ini file in ~/Library/Repetier appears to contain the data from all three of those files. (Like I s

As an experiment, I deleted the Slic3r.ini from the workdir and ran another slice operation from within Repetier. Repetier caused the creation of a new ini file in the workdir.
Can I ask what this is used for please ?
Also, if I copy the resulting gcode from a slice operation using finder and do not take this file, is that a problem ?

In my first post I said I'd actually originally raised my quest in the wrong place. Be that as it may, I did get a partial answer from Repetier which was helpful and I've pasted this below.

Hi there,
I think I have it now. It may be the case that you no longer need to export the config. What I've found is as follows.
Run Repetier, open slicer for configuration. Slic3r creates (maybe at installation - doesn't matter really) 3 directories at the following location.
~/Library/Application Support/Slic3r
These are filament, print and printer
It also writes a Slic3r.ini in this locat

Hi,
thanks for the info. It doesn't seem to solve my problem though. My output option field is set to .gcode. When called by repetier, this seems to be ignored.
Maybe I did things in the wrong order- or not at all . Although I did save each change using the small disk icon, I didn't export afterwards. Seems a little counterintuitive - still, if that's the way it works......
I'll try again.

Hi.
Ok. Understood.Thankyou.
I'd still like to learn how to call Slic3r correctly from the command line. Maybe I need to ask that question in the Slic3r forum.
Thanks again,

Hi, sorry, posted this in the wrong forum earlier
I'm sure this is answered somewhere - I just can't seem to find it.
I'm running a Mac and have downloaded the latest versions of Host and Slic3r.
I'm just trying this combination for the first time - have been using Cura and Pronterface but I'd prefer something a little more integrated. I really like the look and feel of Repetier Host and I'd

Hi there,
I have hunted high and low to find a herringbone set for my mendel's bowden extruder. Either I can't find them or can't correctly configure the relevant scad script to get a printable set. Can you help at all ?

Hello to all. First time here, Rap on order Whilst I'm waiting I am trying to get a handle on the whole toolchain. I'm running a mac (which isn't really helping in this regard) and I'm looking for software (of course) that will assist me in the production of primarily mechanical as opposed to organic models. Money is an issue, but I may have to bite a bullet. Thus far I've looked at:
