I put together some startcode.
I really miss some wipe-feature - (if you have some , feel free to share)
current problem:
M116 does nothing - it does not wait for the temperatures to reach.
I could use M109 to set and wait, but I wish to heat the extruder & bed at the same time, not wait for the first, then heat the other..

I don't get it.
My filament diameter is set (correctly) to 2.8mm
measured width of extrusion (single wall object) IS 0.5mm
I did configure the Sprinter as:
// X, Y, Z, E steps per unit - Metric Prusa Mendel with Wade extruder:
float axis_steps_per_unit[] = {80, 80, 3200/1.25,700};
When I ask pronterface to extrude 5mm, then exactly 5mm filament disappears into the extruder (measured)
- still, if

Thanks for the advise, I'll comment in between lines.

hi.
Please see the attached bridge test, made by SFACT 2.1. 11.08.11
Only one, the first bridge line is hanging, some places on top are not completely filled, it's possible to see through 1-2 layers and some spots.
Please notice that I "lied" about the extrusion width, to make it draw the top/bottom lines tighter, but then again, this will reduce precision around holes. I guess I should hav

You were right.
The major *mess* was to aim for the "default"1.0mm thickness. I guess it was just to heavy.
I am also afraid the daily branch will (too often) mess up my settings if/when upgrading (?) - my current sfact is not *that* old. "11.08.11" ?
Anyway - I aimed for 0.5mm width, had to reduce extrusion a lot, but it's great now.
What confused me a lot, were the numbers going yellow, red

I am thinking about putting whole reel, in a airtight bag with only a small hole for the PLA down to the extruder.
Does anyone know how much moisture/if any , a abig well baked silica gel can absorb from PLA ? - will it get the moisture at all without adding heat ?
Another idea I had: what about adding a "baking" chamber, where the PLA is heated for about 10cm before getting to the extruder. - b

General
Prusa Mendel with Wades extruder:
calibrated to 1mm wall thickness, printing with PLA.
Printing very nice bridge test - I have two major problems:
1.- Crossing the outside gap, the filament falls to the ground because of the slow outer perimeter speed setting is not overridden by the fact that the gap have no support.
2.- the 2 solid layers on top, don't get very solid. it's still a mesh, and

Hi.
I am a compete newbie to this - and while waiting for my Mendel parts/kit , I am trying to figure out of the rest.
I designed a 3D object using ArtOfIllusion , exported to .stl
how/what/where do I use it with SFACT ? - I did not had any luck finding a basic step-by-step guide.
from all reading I got an "impression" that SFACT is the one that is supposed to make the movement data (gcode) file

Python 2.7.2+ on Ubuntu 11.10
Another strange thing, is that pronterface.py (https://github.com/kliment/Printrun) also complains about this Tkinter, but works fine (with GUI)
So yes, I am not that sure that the problem is the Tkinter - that's why I posted the command as well..

This is what I get:
andre@loke:~/Downloads/SFACT/ahmetcemturan-SFACT-2ee9cdd/skeinforge_application$ ./skeinforge.py
You do not have Tkinter, which is needed for the graphical interface, you will only be able to use the command line.
Information on how to download Tkinter is at:
www.tcl.tk/software/tcltk/
However, the URL is of no help - there's nothing there that installs Tkinter.
