Hi Thomas,

thx for the explanation as to why...
I guess I dont really have to print everything with such fine detail but it's just so fantastic to create such smooth objects.
its kinda addictive. Even If I have to wait more than 2 hours to slice it!!
Now that I know how to tackle the problem I can begin printing complete sets of objects (I hope).
Going to try it tomorrow, will let you know how it turned

Hi,
trying to print the z-leadscrewbase of a mendel but always get a outofmemory exception when clicking run job.
I've tried different stl-versions of the z-leadscrewbase from thingiverse but they all result in the same error.
Smaller prints print perfectly without any problems
My specs are:
dual core 2.3GHZ
3.5GB of ram
2x500 GB of diskspace
Am using host version 0.35 and firmware version 0.4

Hi Quentin.T,
Never had any errors compiling repetier-firmware,but I have different hardware.
I posted your message in the repetier-section: repetier
The author of repetier will mostlikely be able to help you with this...

Hi this is a post from a newbie(Quentin T.) whom posted the following in a different topic, I thought I'd put it in the right section:

Thank you for showing me repetier! It looks very promising. I have downloaded it and tried compiling it, but it still gives a few errors, though far less than sprinter did. If someone could please point me to a place where I can get some help with this th

QuoteSelecting only special layers for printing is not easy as you think
I believe you completely.
The problem I have with the pause button is that it's not accurate enough.
I need it to complete the current layer it is printing before pausing and not right away (or really after buffer is empty I think, dont really know how that works)
If I dont time it correctly it starts printing the next laye

yes I know, it's just lazyness on my part to reverse calculate to layernr.
I just think the more info the better.
Your host software has an "unintended" feature which makes it possible to start printing in mid air.
I do this by setting the z to the height you want then restart the software and dont use Z-home before printing starts.
It then thinks it's already on Z-home and starts printing from

I'm also using repetier-host+firmware and I must say excellent work !!
I have one tiny request (if possible) and that's showing the current layer-number being printed
If by some random user-mistake/accident(filament jam or break or power loss etc) and it halts, you'll know where to continue.
it would be a nice-to-have feature...

Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
I've been using Repetier-Host + Repetier Firmware+Skeinforge for a while and achieve perfect prints.
Repetier host is very easy to use and its firmware is even more optimised.
You can also combine multiple objects and save it as a separate .STL file.
One of the most difficult objects to print are (IMO) gears and pulleys. I could never get them right with other firmware at reasonable speeds only

Hi ,
I also have the botmill. And had to replace the vertical threaded-bars for Z-axis because they were bend
making a lot of noise when turning.
Then after replacing them I turned the potentiometer for the Z-axis by little increments to increase current.
Because I also had the problem of not moving/skipping.
Make sure the belt is not to TIGHT or you'll break the pulley on the stepper-motor aft

Hi,
I too have a botmill glider and have it up and running with perfect prints.
But I did had to do some major adjustments.
I will guide through all the steps I took:
FIRST: Driver
You need to install the driver first before attaching your printer. I've attached it to this message (3 parts)
THEN: Slice Software
I use pronterface(in combination with skeinforge) to do my prints I would highly r

Well I must admit if I were asked if I would do business with them again ?? I would have to say no !
In my opinion they're not (yet) "professional" enough.
And that is something that is very important for me.

After reading all these bad reports I thought I would surprise you with a basically good one.
My students and I recently ordered (september) a Botmill-glider.
We received it about six weeks later. Which is a long time. There was a moment we also thought we're going to be duped. Especially after reading all these bad reviews on this forum.
But Gil from Botmill kept me informed about the progress
