Thanks Mike for your answer. There is hardly ever an easy answer and to make it worse, my understanding of physics is horrible.
It sounds like there is no way to tell what approach is the most reliable, both in terms of false positivies and negatives. Also, the "fiddliness" of the fine tuning process needs to be taken into account. Unfortunately, as a physics fool, I don't own an oscilloscope a

Hi Moriquendi

You could put the piezo in series but there are some reasons why parallel is probably better; The wiring is simpler, you don't have to run a wire from one piezo to the other, just crimp the two piezos wires together at the connector. I'm going out on a limb here but, a piezo disk is a capacitor, if my understanding is correct the piezoelectric effect is a change in

Hi Alexander
I'm in the process of designing my triple-Z-axis CoreXY with a large 330x330 bed but I'm afraid that it will lack reliability. Currently, I'm drawn between adapting the parallel mechanism and your double piezo approach. My simple question is: have you been happy with the performance of your setup or has it required you to fiddle around to avoid false positives? And would you mind sh

Have you set "reset on connect" to "Due native port". I think smoothie board behaves the same as due native port, which need dtr pin high for active communication (while the other types use it for resetting the board).
I tried to use Due (RADDS) with native port on Repetier Server yesterday - to no avail. The port showed up in config, tried to connect but then the connection went f

Danke schon mal.

Hello everyone
I am about to lose my mind. I have a RADDS / DUE board setup with a Z-probe on a servo lever. As required by Repetier 0.92.8 firmware I have a Z-max endstop to measure the z-length. All sensors return correct state when triggered, servo extend/retract is ok, all motors work fine. Here is the one unsurmountable problem now: I cannot figure out how to run G32 S2 command properly. It

Firmware - mainstream and related support
Wenn man selber denken könnte.... Danke Wurstnase!
Trotzdem, wieso steht denn da
// Due analog pin #54
#define TEMP_0_PIN 7

Schaut man beim RAMPS-FD Board weiter unten steht da
#define HEATER_0_PIN 8
// Due analog pin #54
#define TEMP_0_PIN 7

Just a shot in the dark (happened to me and took me hours to figure out):
Since you also moved wires to your other board, it might pay out to check the motor wires for loose contact / broken wire. It certainly solved my problems.

I have searched high and low in the forum, modified feedrates, STEPPER_HIGH_DELAY, STEP_DOUBLER_FREQUENCY, ALLOW_QUADSTEPPING, DOUBLE_STEP_DELAY one at a time but the result is always the same (tested with 0.92.8): Using Host, I can move all axis as expected, but when I start the homing (G29) or z-probing (G29), Z-axis emits a high-pitched noise and barely moves. I found that torque on my two z-s
