Just a quick question. Im upgrading my heatbed wiring on my ormerod 1 from the old ribbon cable and will be utilising the screw terminals on the duet, what wire is best to use? and what thermistor is best to use? because I want to change that while I'm at it. (had a few temp issues), Cheers in advance.by bigben - Ormerod
thanks for this update, as a mac user it makes using the latest firmware a little easier! regards Benby bigben - Ormerod
I made my last post before I read the last reply. I have just used the "dot_clean" command and it works! so I now have fully functioning macros without file extensions after them. Thanks for you help on this, I guess its just a disadvantage of using a mac.by bigben - Ormerod
It doubles them up on everything I try, including repetier-host and pronterface (I'm having trouble connecting to the web interface, the page only half loads). I have discovered a workaround though, If I put ".gcode" at the end of each file name it doesn't double them, if right click and tick "hide extension" so just the name appears, then it gets doubled up again. At least I can use the macros nby bigben - Ormerod
I have a slight problem. All my files and macros are showing twice, first with "._" in front then again normally. the files and macros with "._" in front of them won't work which is fine for the files section because I can scroll across to the normal version and click that. but with the macros in the control section the screen is taken up with all the macros showing "._" in front meaning I can'tby bigben - Ormerod
Hang on its working!!! for some reason it was showing up on port tty.usbmodem641, no idea why but its working cheers for your helpby bigben - Ormerod
Hi thanks for your reply. I'm working from a mac with OS X 10.10. yes I'm pressing the erase button, then the reset button. I have been doing everything exactly the same as when I flash the duet but still no luck. I open the terminal window and change directory to desktop (this is where the update file is) then type: /Applications/Arduino.app/Contents/Resources/Java/hardware/tools/bossac --port=by bigben - Ormerod
Hi dave. Im having a problem flashing the PanelDue with the new firmware, the duet wasn't a problem but every time I try the PanelDue I get "no device found". I've tried it hooked up to the screen, on its own, powered via the printer and every time I get the same. Any ideas?by bigben - Ormerod
Quotedc42 As Melmie says, the extruder fan is usually much noisier than the PSU fan. You can install one of my hot end boards to turn the fan off automatically when the print head isn't hot. If you want a totally quiet PSU as well and you are comfortable with doing mains wiring, then I recommend this (the 300W version). You can use this printed cover to cover the terminals and mount the connecby bigben - Ormerod
I didn't have that many, maybe 10by bigben - Ormerod
ok I know I've read it somewhere but I can't find the post. Ive just updated to Dc's latest firmware and it won't let me set the temp of the hot end, when connected via repetier host it tells me I have "no tool selected". Any help would be appreciatedby bigben - Ormerod
Quoteianmcc Well, very bizarre. I just took out the SD card and didn't do anything except delete a few files from the gcodes/ directory. There were 25 files in it. I deleted a few old ones I don't want anymore, and now the web interface works! I have no idea if it is connected to the files I removed, I suspect not because I'm pretty sure I restarted the ormerod (probably several times) sinceby bigben - Ormerod
I've been looking for something like this! put me down for one pleaseby bigben - Ormerod
I've just printed this: its my first multi rotor and its nearly ready to fly! it printed great on the ormerod and if I break anything I can just print a replacement, the two hobbies go well together in my opinion.by bigben - Ormerod
They are on eBay if that's any good:by bigben - Ormerod
I have mine in an old data cabinet I salvaged from work, it was getting thrown in the skip! as soon as I saw it I thought I know what I can do with that! I have fitted white led lighting to use when I work on it and cold cathode uv lighting while printing. I've printed all the gears in fluorescent yellow and have all the wiring wrapped in uv cable wrap, it looks cool printing in the dark I haveby bigben - Ormerod
could something like this be used with the existing block?by bigben - Ormerod
No don't think it is the filament, just changed to one i know is ok and its still the same. I'll look at the hot end againby bigben - Ormerod
I guess it could, its a new 1kg spool but I have had it stood on the side in the open for about a weekby bigben - Ormerod
thanks for the reply. its on all layers really, its more noticeable on the first layer with it been on the bed. its just not extruding evenly, its blobby and seems to be oozing. I have changed the current to 1000mA and cleaned the hobbed part and still no luck.by bigben - Ormerod
I have been printing away happily for a couple of months now but in the last couple of days the printer has been playing up. After a couple of recent abs prints the printer can't seem to extrude properly whether it be abs or pla. it seems to struggle to extrude and then all of a sudden a blob will come out, the extruder sometimes skips when on the first layer. I have tried adjusting the z heightby bigben - Ormerod
Kim I will give yours a try as well, won't be for a couple of days though as I have been at pub watching Hull City today and go away to work for a few days in the morning. thanks for all the hard work guys!by bigben - Ormerod
Thanks for this, I decided to give it a go as I change between abs and pla a fair bit and together with DC's fan deflector it works really well! Cheersby bigben - Ormerod
the print centre in slic3r is set at X100 Y100, looks like this is the problem. thanks for your help, I've been scratching my head over this for a couple of hours nowby bigben - Ormerod
This is the STL I downloaded from thingiverse and the first part of the G-code I generated in slic3r.by bigben - Ormerod
Thanks for the reply. Yes I went through the same procedure as I normally do, this is the first large object I have tried to print though so I'm using more of the bed, It just keeps printing off to one side. I'll see if I can get the files uploaded.by bigben - Ormerod
I have been trying to print a stand for my ps4, it is in 2 parts and I arranged it in slic3r so it fits well within the print dimensions but when I start the print it starts halfway across the bed resulting in some of it printing off the bed. Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong? any help would be much appreciatedby bigben - Ormerod
hi, if its not too late i'll have one please. Benby bigben - Ormerod
