I can't, for the love of tea, get this link to open properly. :-/by loidor - Smart_Rap
I just added this line: // HOT END THERMISTOR PID TUNING: // Define PID temperatures. // Set the maximum current. // Limit the current to the hot end nozzle while PID is active. // If the difference between target temperature and the actual temperature > PID_FUNCTIONAL_RANGE then the PID will be shut off and the heater will be set to min/max. // Set the limit for the integral term. //by loidor - Smart_Rap
B-e-a-utiful! However, I'd add a short comment about the PID values =)by loidor - Smart_Rap
I'm looking forward to itby loidor - Smart_Rap
I've thought about the same thing, and about how much it would be able to strip Marlin for like the smartrap - not because it would make any performance difference, but because it would be easier to read and make changes for the end user.by loidor - Smart_Rap
Then my bet is the 32 steps =) I haven't heard so far about anyone so far that have managed to setup a working 1/32 rig with RAMPS.by loidor - Smart_Rap
The motors work as dynamos when you spin them by hand, which is why the lcd blinks. Do you have a heated bed? Because it sounds like a polyfuse problem, and these are muuuch more common in you have a heated bed.by loidor - Smart_Rap
Quotemadmike8 SmartRap 4.6 Files 8mm rods I had to split it into two separate RAR files to be able to attach them. Bloody beautiful!by loidor - Smart_Rap
It arrived today and is extruding molten plastic like a charm! Now it's just the rest of the repstrap that needs tuning =Dby loidor - Smart_Rap
From what I can see, it's the pcb ones.by loidor - Smart_Rap
Quoteregpye Me too, but I do have a heated bed, and it is mains powered. And I'm curious on what bed you're using =)by loidor - Smart_Rap
Nevermind, after reading about drive gears, I learned that MK8 have a hob diameter of 7mm and MK7 have a hob diameter of 10,56mm. I suggest a name change of the parts to directdrive_idle_mk7 and -mk8 to make it easier to understand.by loidor - Smart_Rap
Right, all 8mm pieces have been extracted from the blender files and put into separate STLs. However, I'm still not sure about the 7mm and 10mm idle versions. What's the difference? What's the measurement referring to? I guess the 10mm version is the commonly used since that's been longer in the repo.by loidor - Smart_Rap
This could be a bunch of things... Are the power supply on? Are the pots on the steppers turned up? Are end stops inverted and therefore triggered?by loidor - RAMPS Electronics
Aww, thanks! I'll let you know as soon as it arrivesby loidor - Smart_Rap
If you weren't so far away I'd come by with a case of beer. Totally amazing Anyway, you should have an order to Sweden for a hotend and a 0.5 nozzle. Great Scott, this will be fun!by loidor - Smart_Rap
Right, I'm about to order one, but I'm curious wether it comes with a pneumatic fitting or not. EDIT: Ah, nevermind. Just look at what one can find when one reads text properly Of course it comes with a fitting!by loidor - Smart_Rap
5A. However, AC sounds terribly wrong. Are you sure about that? It should be DC, and RAMPS is quite iffy with polarity.by loidor - Smart_Rap
Right, so let's see... From what I can tell, the following are the pieces I need in an 8 mm version: endx_back endx_jhead endy_back endy_front plateX plateY plate_base Is there something I've missed? Also, I've noticed there are two different direct drives, one 7mm and one 10mm. I'm not clear on the difference between those.by loidor - Smart_Rap
Ah, thanks! I'll have a look at the blender files, and if that's not doing it for me, I'll apply some redesign =) Thing is, it's next to impossible scoring 6mm rod where I live (Sweden), so it's 8mm or no rod at all, and that seems a bit dull.by loidor - Smart_Rap
Right, so when I get home after Christmas I'll start to print my smartrap parts. However, which axes (axises? Axi?) are currently using 6 mm rod? I'm asking because I will need to remix those pieces to 8 mm (if someone hasn't done so already and want to share the source). A very politically correct Happy Holidays to you all!by loidor - Smart_Rap
I guess I'll print what's possible and cut up and crazy glue what's not and then print them on the smartrap And I'm getting a Genie, don't worry Just need to wait until the other side of Christmas, that's all!by loidor - Smart_Rap
Right, my repstrap is close to finished, and I'm about to testprint later tonight. Thing is, the build area came out a bit smaller than expected. X is 80 mm and Y is 55 mm, but I can probably stretch Y a bit (I guess I can get it up to 80 mm as well). Z is about 80 mm as well. What's the dimensions of the largest smartrap part?by loidor - Smart_Rap
There's a test rig in this video from nwreprap.com - perhaps you could throw something like that together?by loidor - RAMPS Electronics
Sounds really, really nice Well, I'll at least finish my repstrap first, and I'll get one of those for the Smartrap.by loidor - Smart_Rap
All right, that doesn't sound that hefty. Do you have mk1 or mk2?by loidor - Smart_Rap
Hah, I haven't even built my repstrap yet, and I'm already interested in this one Does it need direct cooling? Does it need kapton wrapping? All the pictures seem to have it, but from what I've read there's ptfe sleeves and grub screws holding stuff inplace... Also, is the postage with international tracking? If not, I could just as well go with airmail and save some cash Anyway, I'll moby loidor - Smart_Rap
Quotecdru Stepsticks are four times the resistance of genuine Polulus, so .2Ω, not .02Ω. I = VREF / (8 * RS), or rearranged, the VREF you're looking for for the current rating of your steppers is VREF = I * 8 * RS. Of course it is. Occasional brain fart or something. QuoteSo measure the sense resistor that's on your driver. Orient the board so that the main IC (the square one with 28 pins cominby loidor - Controllers
Oh, I never thought about that. Of course that's easier (and safer). And yeah, I could probably ask the seller, but I want to know things by heart rather than having to rely on others =) Sooner or later I'll find myself in some situation where I don't have a seller to ask ;-)by loidor - Controllers
