Hey Apsu.. Im building your tripteron, but i have a question of where you placed the endstops.. I have Now printed all the parts and ordered rails.. I redesigned the z-axis slightly to use a leadscrew insteadby supernielsen - Look what I made!
Anyone knows about this guy? He is building one aswell based on this and i really dig it and would love to have a look at the files for itby supernielsen - CoreXY Machines
Hi reprappers.. i have recently bought a reprappro mendel printer, i tested it and everything worked, then i decided to do some extruder calibration it were way off and therefore i had to change firmware, the guy i bought it from didnt have the firmware laying around.. I went on to the reprappro page, read it all downloaded the correct firmware, loaded it on to the board and now comes the "funby supernielsen - Reprappers
Quoteggherbaz Quote Wow, that is expensive. I print my own with nylon (2 cents each?) and change them as needed. very quiet and reliable..... As you can see I'm cheap But I haven't lost any printing quality compare to LM8UU. Those should be excellent bearings for that price tag. Do you have a stl file for the bearings you are printing yourself.. ?by supernielsen - Reprappers
I would increase the extrusion width. Also calibrate your steps pr mm for the extruder you can find a guide on youtube. After that you need to calibrate the multiplier for the filament you want to use.. You need to see the difference for yourself my first layer quality increased ALOTby supernielsen - Reprappers
What are your settings? you could thy to reduce the first layer height to (80%) and at the same time increase first layer width to (120 - 200%) Then it will get a bigger surface area on the first layer, this shoud give you better adhesion to the bed.by supernielsen - Reprappers
Can you turn on your fan and control it with M106 ? And which firmware are you currently using !by supernielsen - Reprappers
Glad you solved your problem, another time if you cant maintain your temperature you could try to do i pid autotuning, it worked for meby supernielsen - Reprappers
I didnt read to topic properly sorry.. ! I thought you couldn't control the fanby supernielsen - Reprappers
I have made the autolevel on my prusa i3 hephestos, this works fine and im actually pretty satisfied, its set to print 0,1mm over the bed, and i feel the prints are a little more consistent and in great quality, however the travel speeds is a bug for me, you have to put it all the way down till the z-axis can keep up, something like 150mm/min in my situation. But i would say go for it. I use thby supernielsen - Reprappers
^ Maybe instead of a stronger stepper motor it could be a solution to have a stepper motor with a gearing, that will make is possible to pulle the bed without to much ampere needed, this will make it go slower for sure, but it is a cheaper solution than a much stronger stepper.by supernielsen - Reprappers
Steps pr mm on the axis beside extruder is waste of time, yes you can hit a perfect square 20x20mm but as soon as you print something bigger you will have an even worse offset on your print and a 40x40 make came out way to big or way to small.by supernielsen - Reprappers
Quotederletztename This actually was changed in the newer versions: Old Version: 937. static void do_blocking_move_to(float x, float y, float z) { 938. float oldFeedRate = feedrate; 939. 940. feedrate = homing_feedrate; 941. 942. current_position = z; 943. plan_buffer_line(current_position, current_position, current_position, current_position, feedrate/60, active_extruder); 944. st_synchronizby supernielsen - Firmware - mainstream and related support
the problem is not solved yet, the problem is exatcly the same.. !by supernielsen - Reprappers
@ggherbaz No im not adjusting the wrong settings, i calibrated the multiplier so that it prints the perimeters in the right thickness.. On filament that worked it were 0,8 but with the orange filament it is 1.25 I tried all of tre above except extrusion width that is set to auto.. @bassnfool I Will try to lower the temperature to 200 and report back..by supernielsen - Reprappers
Hello out there, i hope you once more can help me. I have now fully calibrated my extruder and i am getting very fine print. I have tried a red and a purple filament and they are both very good they extrude/print very good. Then i wanted to try and orange filament and thats a completely different story, after calibrating the multiplier i went from 0,8 to 1.25 with this to get the right perimeterby supernielsen - Reprappers
I found the problem travel speed in cura were way to high for z-axis, i changed it in the g code to a speed the z-axis could handle..by supernielsen - Reprappers
Problem found mine was not set to flip y table and my option was set to center on x center on y and max to z.. All changed to max flipped y table and it works..by supernielsen - Reprappers
I will try this thursday and report back.. Thanks for your help. Btw i think it is a problem with offset and i removed it completely it was set to the middleby supernielsen - Reprappers
^ Unfortunately bed size is set correct. the funny thing is that its only my computer. Can it be that the different 3d software i have is "colliding" with eachother? I have Pronterface, simplify3d, RepetierHost, and Cura. NOTE: In Pronterface when i press the red button that makes the printer goes center it does EXATCLY that (so it knows where the middle is)by supernielsen - Reprappers
We got it to print by using simplify3d. it works because it sets the z axis to home and just go to the middle without lifting it, which seems to be the problem with cura. However this is not a 100% good solution but atleast it prints, and it prints pretty good. These are my values: #define DEFAULT_MAX_FEEDRATE {250, 250, 3.3, 25} // (mm/sec) #define DEFAULT_MAX_ACCELERATION {300by supernielsen - Reprappers
I hope i can steal this topic for a bit.. We have a problem with our z-axis on our prusa i3 hebhestos, the problems is that the z axis will make a loud grinding noise.. I can fine control the printer in pronterface and then there is no problem with any axis however when i try to print in cura, it starts by homing all the axis, then it will lift the z axis, but it just stands still with a hugby supernielsen - Reprappers
No the objects placement in cura dont have any effect on placement of where the printer starts to print. I dont have the g90 in my gcode.. However if we try on another computer with the exatcly same specifications in cura it prints fine.. This is a really wierd issue.by supernielsen - Reprappers
Hello everybody, i have another question we have now calibrated our printer, everything seems to work fine.. However when we starts to print it goes home on all axis and starts printing at the corner of the plate, how do i set the setting in cura so that it starts printing in the middle of the plate.. Looking forward to hear from youby supernielsen - Reprappers
@SteveRoy It was the pair, they were not correct the motors are now moving.. ! THANKSby supernielsen - Reprappers

Hi, and thanks for the answer regarding the wiring we have 4 wires on our motors. We put the wirings accordingly to the diagram provided by bq.. I AM not sure how to use the method in the link. We adjusted the vref voltage on each stepper driver exactly to the voltage stated in the bq PDF.. I have however not tried to home each axis before hand maybe thats the problem.by supernielsen - Reprappers
Hello everyone, finally we got everything assembled including the electronic, first error we encountered were the lcd display no text only an annoying blue backlit. Then we decided to look past this and control the printer with pronterface and repetier host. The problem is that we cant manually move the axes at all, anyone have an idea? At one moment is seems that one of the motor gave A clby supernielsen - Reprappers
Im crossing my fingers for the ramp board will work with the freaduino.. We are making two printer would it be correct to assume, that the ramp controls the power, and therefore i can without any problems use the normal arduino mega 2560 and ramp for the second one..?by supernielsen - Controllers
So i did buy the freaduino board, and a clone original ramp, so i hope it works i got all the step drivers, and endstops. The extruder is on its way, next is the nema 17 2.5a engines..by supernielsen - Controllers
