I have listed a Prusa 2 with enclosed electronics ,lm8uu linear bearings, and T2.5 belts and pulleys. it is loaded with Marlin firmware, Check it out! Prusa 2 Ebay listingby Bruce Wattendorf - For Sale
Ok here is our post my son (Nicholas) and myself have combined a Darwin repstrap (one of the first that printed). A Prusa 2 and we are working on 3 Ultimakers 2 regular sized and 1 4 ft by 3 ft. We are in northwest RI but would love to come up to Boston.. Bruce Wattendorfby Bruce Wattendorf - Massachusetts, Boston RepRap User Group

Are these from makerbot and i am interested in the stepper drivers will you take paypal??by Bruce Wattendorf - For Sale
I am very impressed with seeed studio they seem to be as good if not better then Which is where Makerbot and myself order from. But I did see that they are having a hard time with the open source idea if you look in the seeed studio blog. (it looks like the stocking of boards is an issue.) Which my goal is to just focus on reprap boards and kits for now and spreading the price I for one doby Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
FYI to all in this forum I am days away from starting a kickstarter.com proposal for Reprap electronics. With the goal of starting a web store for selling Reprap electronics and also selling and supporting development of any new electronics.. I will post when the bidding on kickstarter is open. our web site is going to be rep-up.com and right now points to the kickstarter site which the linkby Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
Sheep- I do agree with you on SMT, But I am looking at how easy it is to get the parts and I feel a lot of users might be intimidated by SMT and cause them to not build the electronics. As far as the Sanguino foot print that is great but try to move the electronics to the Arduino Mega. As far as the availability yes it is an issue but it is also an issue in my eys that the present Electroniby Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
I have been thinking about designing a Motherboard 1.2 into a shield for the Arduino-Arduino Mega platform. Some thoughts I have on this is. 1. the board is to work on a Arduino (I have found this will require the stepper pins to be moved a little.) 2. the board is to have rs485 I2c 3. The board is to be mostly tru. hole to ease in the building of the board. 4. The Board will be be abby Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
It looks like makerbot might be playing with the TS-7500 I found this by looking through there subversion files. Also I have been working on porting over the Sanguino to the Arduino footprint and also the parts that are on the mother board and extruder board on to shields. I don't know if this will be of any benefit but it might make things a little cheaper if somebody has an Arduino alsoby Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
So the plan is to make it piggie back onto an Arduino board. I think we might want to look into making a Sanguino board that has the Arduino foot print. And also be compatable with the Megadruino. Bruceby Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
So if you are to make a backplane will it be for the Megarduino? And maybe we should think about a Sanguino in the Arduino header pin layouts?by Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
I found this a while ago it is a chip that is used for I2C stepper controller not that we want to limit the system to I2C This also looks like it could easily be made to be single sided board. and at 30 eur. Bruceby Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
Some of my goals with this Discussion was to 1. make the change the electronics to be more Reprap friendly. Mainly the power to go back to just 12 volts and do away with the computer power supply by using a separate power supply board, (and there maybe be 2 different versions one for PC power and a different for 12 volt dc power. I am not against the pc power I just dont like having to wire iby Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
or the Xduino so there are a few 32 bit arm that have ported over to the Arduino interface.by Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
So How about the best of both worlds use this We might want to look into making a board that uses the same pin layout as the Arduino mega? and then make shields??by Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
So here is what I have found so far NXP LPC1768 $8.70 looks like a very good possibility. The omap3503 seems cool (you can run Linux on it )but it does not have that many I/O pins and it is 35.00 for the chip it would make a cool main controller. the atmel AT32UC3A3 is about 12.00 per chip and i dont think it is as world wide avail. Even though it is used in the make magazine controller.by Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
Ok so we should be compatible with existing hardware. I think 32 bit is the way to go. There are some atmel chips we could use I have a few Dev boards for them and they might be easier to talk to the Arduino Env. Should it be open source?? I am also a very big fan of Diagnostic util. Either leds or software to test with and think that is a big thing missing in the present hardware.by Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
I am all for that since it is 32 bit. I just do not know about anybody else? It would be cool to go with a processor that has room to grow and have enough power to do every thing and then some. I don't know how much resistance we would get. here is a good start to prototype with but i can see it would be cheaper to make a board with the chip on it. Not a bad thought....by Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
Good point it is to bad that the Sanguino was not made to have the "Arduino" foot print like the Megadruino did which is compatable with older daughterboards.. the only issue i see is with mounting the stack of boards on the printer..by Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
I just looked at my machine I am using the PIC electronics and Keling motors and I have to set my torque to 70% I guess I need to update my Google settings I have on the Wiki. If I go any more then 70% I get the same symptoms. Bruceby Bruce Wattendorf - Controllers
I was wondering how far along everybody is and I am wondering if everybody that is working on Reprap/ Repstrap would be interested in posting or planing a day that everybody gives a show and tell so we can get some interest. ( I am one to post with this as for my lab is down because I am trying to sell my house and move to a home with a larger lab shop.) But i think this would be good to motivateby Bruce Wattendorf - Reprappers
Well then what do myself and Joost do with our machines? that is the reason we are open source. I made my Darwin so that when we all find we have the "wrong power supply" then I will change to the one that works and I will replace my parts of my Darwin from parts it has made working on the same goal of being able to print parts. granted when making a machine I have had to make 2 to 3 parts to getby Bruce Wattendorf - Mechanics
Zach, i did these on the new rev. of the parts using the cable. I also have them for the older desighn which is what i have used. Bruce W.by Bruce Wattendorf - Mechanics
I have attached a ziped file of pdf's i have created with solid edge. I have a convertion program to import stl files. these pdf's is what I used to create a set of extruder parts using popular. " I have not fully tested the parts as for I am moving into a new house and have had to store my lab till the move." I created the parts by printing, cutting out the parts, glueing them to the wood then cby Bruce Wattendorf - Mechanics
