animoose - Looks like you hit the nail on the head. It started doing the 10 degrees below thing again so I upped the PID_MAX (couldn't find MAX_PWM) to 256 and it now heats up fine. Thanks!by SpeedyDad1 - Reprappers
I played around with PID a bit to no avail. Then, I grabbed the heater cartridge from the E3D in the clone Ultimaker I'm building. I installed that in this heat block and tested it. It heated fine. I then swapped the old one back in and it also heated fine. I think it was either a loose connection at the RAMPS board or oxidation between the cartridge and the heater block.by SpeedyDad1 - Reprappers
I am having an odd issue with pre-heating the E3Dv6 hotend on my Prusa i3. My setup is as follows: Prusa i3 E3Dv6 hotend RAMPS 1.4 w/ constant cooling to the board Arduino MEGA 2560 Full Graphic Smart Controller LCD 12v power supply for the electronics 12v power supply for the bed. Let me start this by saying that the machine has been working great up until now. Just starting last night, whenby SpeedyDad1 - Reprappers
It comes to a corner, pauses, and then continues. Would it be a firmware issue if it does it with 1.2.9 files and not 1.1.7 files?by SpeedyDad1 - Slic3r
I only print from SD card. I can print over USB and have no issues with that but prefer SD for the untethered aspect. It is jerky where there are angled direction changes. Gentle curves seem alright but if it is an abrupt angle, it pauses. If the file attachment limit wasn't so low, I'd attach a video I took of it. I'm at Bryce Canyon right now camping but when I get home, I'll post the gcode.by SpeedyDad1 - Slic3r
Yes, that will allow me to see the generated gcode but what i need to know is what in the new version is causing the differences.by SpeedyDad1 - Slic3r
I was using Slic3r 1.1.7 with no problems. I downloaded v1.2.9 and love the new features but printing is very jerky. I imported my settings from the previous version and it seems whenever the printer makes a course change, the printer pauses briefly before continuing. This makes the prints MUCH longer, I then put the same object (any object) in the old version and print and the print is smooth. Aby SpeedyDad1 - Slic3r
I'd like t try it also.by SpeedyDad1 - For Sale
Mine was the same way. Take a look at this:by SpeedyDad1 - Reprappers
I had a similar problem with holes. My cubes turned out correct but holes were oblong. I played with e-steps and that screwed up my cubes so that wasn't it. Turned out my Y axis belt was a little loose. Tightened it up and my holes were round again.by SpeedyDad1 - Printing
