The fan in the power supply failed (broke off the mount). I haven't metered it, but I just don't understand how literally everything on a printer can work (all axis move, it extrudes, fan on, etc) but it just won't actually print anything. No errors in the gcode either that I see other than those and "unknown error".by chromecarz00 - Prusa i3 and variants
Dammnit. So any idea why it has stopped working?by chromecarz00 - Prusa i3 and variants
My folgertech prusa saga continues. I got half of a print off, after which I cancelled it and my fan in the power supply broke. Now I'm getting the sd init fail and unknown command errors. my firmware is marlin V1. I have no sd card on the ramps board so IDK why i'm getting this error, especially when it has worked in the past. Everything mechanically works fine - moves, heats, extrudes, homes,by chromecarz00 - Prusa i3 and variants
My powersupply has failed twice now under less than an hour of use each time and folger hasn't responded in a week to my email about replacing it. Are there any other recommended power supplies that can be mounted on the frame that are recommended?by chromecarz00 - Prusa i3 and variants
Fixed it. There was an issue with the the thermistor.by chromecarz00 - Reprappers
So I switched the Y endstop to the other side and changed the min/max values for every one and i get a mix of Ymax triggered and open. It shows triggered the first time after hitting the y endstop, otherwise it is open. Also, while toggling the x endstop,, the xmax showed open while the xmin showed triggered always after switching values.by chromecarz00 - Reprappers
Sorry for the late response. I don't have any max endstops and I don't see the setting for that in repetier, so how could I do this? Thanks for your continued assistance.by chromecarz00 - Reprappers
Thanks for the screenshot and advice! With all endstops homed, it reads: 16:56:39.547 : Reporting endstop status 16:56:39.547 : x_min: TRIGGERED 16:56:39.547 : x_max: TRIGGERED 16:56:39.568 : y_min: TRIGGERED 16:56:39.573 : y_max: TRIGGERED 16:56:39.590 : z_min: TRIGGERED 16:56:39.590 : z_max: TRIGGERED X not homed: 17:05:10.803 : Reporting endstop status 17:05:10.803 : x_min: open 17:05:10by chromecarz00 - Reprappers
My printer does not have a screen...any way to read through COM interface?by chromecarz00 - Reprappers
Hi, I tried entering the GCode into the manual control section of repetier, but I can't see anything happen. Where do I see the results of GCode? I'm fairly new at using gcode, so thanks for your help.by chromecarz00 - Reprappers
Folger i3 Prusa, posted in that thread before but figured I would make a separate thread. After homing, I try to move the axis (all) in any direction, but none will move. They worked previously (a month or more ago) but I have not had much time to play around as I've been out of town. They don't even try to move, so I feel as though it is a software thing. Any ideas?by chromecarz00 - Reprappers
Hi guys, me again. I've got all the currents dialed in, everything according to spec. The only thing is that I messed up the connectors for the extruder and the heated bed so I'm getting replacements soon - they are not currently plugged in, but I don't see them being relevant to this part. After homing, none of the motors move in any direction. I've tried flipping the values of min/max for X/Yby chromecarz00 - Prusa i3 and variants
So my issues are as follows: X motor slips sometimes, and doesn't move smoothly. Once all axis are homed, they do not move manually. I haven't been able to get anything printed on this as of yet because of these issues, please help! The x-axis feels a little rough and skips in near the same place - is this an issue of not having enough bearing oil?by chromecarz00 - Reprappers
redid wiring and they are stopping which is good. however, once homed they do not move manually....and the x-axis slows down at certain points in the movementby chromecarz00 - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteVanbot Quotechromecarz00 Do you mean reverse them? They are plugged in where they were said to in the manual The slots for end stops on the RAMPS are arranged like this: Z MAX Z MIN YMAX Y MIN X MAX X MIN So the very bottom slot on RAMPS is for the X end stop if the actual end stop is in a Min position on the printer. Ditto for Y and Z. To get my printer to work right I had to plug my X eby chromecarz00 - Prusa i3 and variants

QuoteEcky Chrome: What is that clack clack noise ???? I built mine with the Y endstop at the other end as per the Folger FAQ. My X is where your's is. My enstop connectors are as the build manual. X in the lowest position(1), skip one(2), Y is next in 3 and Z is in 5. My configuration.h is posted for your use if you like. It works but it may be mirror imaged. I tried some of the solutions above and the motors do move after homed, but this is what happens. Settings are also included...by chromecarz00 - Prusa i3 and variants
Update - got the heaters to both work. The first time that extruder comes on, it is smelly! Now I need to know why the motors don't move unless commanded home, and don't stop at the end stop when it hits them.by chromecarz00 - Prusa i3 and variants

OK so assuming the power supply is on the back right, here are the facts/issues: Endstops are all on the back left. The Y axis, when clicking home, goes to the front - away from the y endstop. X goes towards the endstop, but doesn't stop when it comes into contact with it. Z does the same. Neither the bed, nor the extruder start to heat when commanded by the program. QuoteEcky Get one here: Docs on google drive Got it, thanks. Now the motors don't stop when hitting the end stop and make the belt skip, nothing moves except when hitting the home button in repetir manually, extruder has never been turned on but shows at 308.7 degrees C. Hi guys, Got my new Folgertech i3 a few weeks ago and have been trying to get it running - kind of hard without a working power supply! Now that I got the replacement and it seems to work, I can't get the arduino dialed in - the .ino file from the folger google drive is gone also. all in all a frustrating experience so far, coming from my old makerbot. Does anyone have a copy or know where Iby chromecarz00 - Prusa i3 and variants
