I dont have any problems printing petg . I do use 2 different extruders and hotends.by Michel000 - Printing
Hi everyone, Does anyone use PETG as a support material for PLA prints ? Or PLA as support for PETG. I printed 2 color part by accident with PLA and PETG, and everything printed fine only i could break away the PETG really easy from the PLA leaving a really nice surface. So i think i will try to use it as a support material (only when i can break it away) its easyer to print and cheaperby Michel000 - Printing
Is this sheet of aluminium the heatbed ? i would not mount this directly to youre heatbed because 1. you will lose heat to the bearings and rods 2. aluminium (and the steel bearings/rods ) will expand when hot And how do you level youre heatbed ?by Michel000 - Reprappers
But putting a extra bearing on the shaft only works if you use a high precision part to hold the bearing and motor exactly inline else it will only put more tension on the shaft.by Michel000 - Reprappers
Hi, Yesterday i had for the second time a broken shaft on 1 of my Nema 17 steppers both times on the motor. I was using this motor for only 2 months now, its from the motor thats moving the Y axis (i have printer with a H frame) . Is this just a bad quallity steppers or is there something wrong in my printer, the only thing i can think of to change is less tension on my timing belt and puttby Michel000 - Reprappers
you say its always add the same layer, Is that also the same layer where youre cooling fan kicks in ? It may cool youre hotend and making it harder for the extruder to push out the filament . You could change the direction of the fan more to the part thats printed less to the hotend Or you could try to mess with the PID settings to keep a constant temp.by Michel000 - Printing
What extrusion width are you using ? its in the top of youre Gcode file. you could try to set it manually to 0.5mm.by Michel000 - Printing
I assume there are 2 bushings a Rod? If the dont aling it doesnt matter if the Rod can move inside the frame. Does it work when you only tightening one of the bushings?by Michel000 - Reprappers
most likely youre bushings are not straight. when tighten the screws you push the bearings out of line. Zipties dont have that problem....by Michel000 - Reprappers
my nozzle is 0.7 and i set it that way in Slic3r /cura i will try the detect thin wall option this evening.by Michel000 - Printing
Hi Everyone, I have problems to slice objects with a thin wall thickness. Today i sliced a object that i made with solidworks loft feature with a wall tickness of 0.7mm. Using slic3r, with nozzle size 0.7 and extrusion with 0.7 i get holes in the object i think because of the loft feature of the object is not exactly 0.7 all the time. I fixed it by setting extrusion with to 0.68 but now itby Michel000 - Printing
What happens if the power goes out, most likely in a fire. Why dont you but something like this: Im planning to add one to my printer, im building a encloser with plasterboard, 25mm of this material can stop the fire for 60minutes.by Michel000 - Safety & Best Practices
if i set extrusion width to 0.5mm i get only 2 permiters with a 0.2mm space between them making the part really weak. Same thing happens when i use the default setting of 0.by Michel000 - Printing
Hi everyone, have a cylindrical object with a radius of 14mm on the outside and 11.6 on the inside, my printer has a 0.4mm nozzle and layer hight i want to use is 0.2mm What layer thichness should you advise me to set to print this correctly with slic3r?by Michel000 - Printing
i tryed to generate it with 1 perimeter instead of 5 now it extrudes 21417mm2 exactly the same as solidworks reports. i will also try older slicer version to see what happens.by Michel000 - Printing
its abs and both slicer and solidworks report same volume. and i used 100% infill version of slicer is 1.2.9 my printer is far for perfect so it could be backlash but then i still think its strange slic3r puts in more filament than is needed for the part.by Michel000 - Printing
if i look add the volume of the object in solidworks and in slicer its 21417mm2 if i look add the volume of abs its extracting its 21.5cm3 (in the gcode file generated) so why would it extract 152mm2 more than needed ? No brim no skirt.by Michel000 - Printing
Chinees pursia I3 Slic3r Merlin The picture is of a part thats has some underextrusion on the perimeters.by Michel000 - Printing
i did some test, when i slice with 15% infill perimeter overlap its realy using more infill then when you set that value to 0, so looks to me you should set it to 0% if you use solid infill. im printing a new test now to see if that was my problem.by Michel000 - Printing
Hi everyone, I have a problem with a small part i try to print size is around 35x20x30 i did all of the callibration but when i print ilooks like i have a overextrusion problem, the top layer infill just looks like it has to many material but the permiters are oke. Dimensions of the part are ok the have a max. tollerance of +/- 0.1mm , only if i measure the top infill its a bit to big if i measby Michel000 - Printing
Hi, im in the proccess of building my own 3d printer and i want it to have a heated build chamber. The room where its standing is very cold during the winter and i really want to have a constand temp. of around 40 45 degrees. Im used to work with arduinos and programming a PID controller and using a mosfet for some kind of a heater should not be a problem., but i dont mind to just buy somethingby Michel000 - Reprappers
1 i normally print with seam aligned but it would be very nice if i could pick to location of the seam most of the time my prints have a side that needs to be perfect and i dont want to have the seam there but it looks like i dont have any control where its placed. 2 Putting 0 add the temp. settings works thanks for that i just want my printer to start when i press start so i can see the firstby Michel000 - Printing
Questions about Slic3r Is it possible to manually set the seam location ? Or is there a logic to it? And is it possible to generate Gcode without the temp. settings because I always set temp. by hand because when I start the print the printer should not keep waiting for the temp to be reached. Now I always remove the 3 lines by hand.by Michel000 - Printing
Bad connection maybe? I had problems with the stepper going from 1/8 to 1/16 steps by itself because the jumpers where a bit looseby Michel000 - Printing
Do you you send gcode from a PC to the printer? Maybe its to slow and its just waithing for new codeby Michel000 - Printing
maybe my controler is of scale of i dont tjhink its that far off. the thing is i can print ABS add 210 degrees also but i get bad or really bad layer adhesion for most of the colors of ABS i have. and when i run it a high temp. 265 untill 310 it has almost the same strengt in all directions. I also noticed it depents on how big the part is layer tickness and speed but overal higer temp means sby Michel000 - Printing
Hi everyone, Im printing for some time now with ABS and i had a lot of problems with layer delamination. the way i solved it is put the temperature of the extruder higher between 250 and 310 degrees C (E3D hotend and thermocouple). Some colors filament go fine with 250 degree but some really need the 310 to stick correctly to the other layers. Does anyone else print ABS add this temperatuby Michel000 - Printing
i think that solved the problem working on the 3e print now. I removed them bend them a bit and put them back on. If i get it again i will solder them i think. thank you!by Michel000 - General
X axes value for steps per mm is changing during print Hi, i just finished my i3 pro C dual extruder from geetech and i also get some prints out of it. but most of the times when i start a print the first layers are good but then it looks like the stepper settings for the X axes changes, the printer thinks it moves 10mm but in reality it moves 20mm. It will stay that way for x layers and theby Michel000 - General
