There will be a Prusa I3 Single plate in Laser cut 6mm Aluminium to Drule over, if your so inclined. Just the plate so far. Just got it today. And my Rostock, still not printing, but moving nicelyby Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group

Is your reset enable jumper in place? (between the 644p and the pololu drivers) Is there a boot loader installed on your 644p? You have installed the Sanguino driver into Arduino and selected Sanguino as your board type? Or are you using a 1284p? Also you can't control the LED on the SL with blink, you would need to add a LED onto an IO pin. The one on the board is always on when power iby Dust - Sanguino(lolu)

I've not tryed a real 2560 but I have just played with a Taurino Power 2560 (should be the same) No real issues using it under ubuntu I did find myne doesnt like 250000 baud, but editing the configuration.h back to 115200 and re uploading the firmware and it connects fine It turns up as /dev/ttyACM0 which is a differnet name than the SLby Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Just a thought Have you got max endstops enabled, and perhaps max Z is triggered? GIve the machine a m119 "Get Endstop Status" see it it tells you anything.by Dust - General
The 644p must have a have a boot loader installed for you to install this way. Where did you get your 644p? did it come as part of a a kit? if so did it say anything about having a boot loader.? If you just got a 644p from a nornal (non reprap) electronics supplyer it will be blank. You will need a special bit of hardware to put a boot loader on it. Yes it has a uart, with a 1 byte buffer. Wich means the CPU has to take care of every byte.by Dust - Sanguino(lolu)
You can talk to the board with nothing else connected. It is of limited use like that but it works. try a M119 command for eg (M119: Get End stop Status) The USB on the SL is basically the small chip on the back FT232RL . It provides the serial over usb for the computer to see If its not your cable... Its that of one of its support components J1 USB USBPTHby Dust - Sanguino(lolu)
Since the serial is CPU driven, if you upload at 1M you don't leave enough cpu cycles for other things, such as moving steppers or checking temp etc. So you would be able to upload to SD faster, but it will probably break normal operations if you send from a computer. Printing from SD might/should be fine. This is why I like the AT90USB1286 based boards, it is a virtual UART, so no mater what bby Dust - Sanguino(lolu)
Ive taken a look at this, You are correct! That pin is D4 No one has noticed this before as far as im aware. I have e-mail Joem (the board designer)by Dust - Sanguino(lolu)
Actually after a bit of googling I find Which basally says that windows 8 now requires signed drivers and how you can get around it to install non signed like you have. So give the top half a try, then run your serial_install.exeby Dust - General
Jacob is correct, its a AT90USB1286 with virtual UARTs over USB Can someone tell me the VID/PID for Printrboard and Axteeg X3? For a teensy 2++ (also a AT90USB1286) the VID/PID is 16c0:0483 If its the same I can have a play on a windows 8 machine at work next week...by Dust - General
The other option is to consider changing the resistors 4 * 4.7 ohm in parallel would be 1.175, ie 10.21amps, this do able with your power supply. 122.5 watts egby Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Can I ask where you got your hot bed plate from? See if their web site says anything intersting.by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
You really need to check the wiring of the HBP and verify the resistance with a multimeter if its 5.5 ohms you need to lower it. I have 30A 12 volt supply, but since you dont. I wouldnt put them all in parallel either. So you should try a combination. Join the red to the input of two resitors, connect the other ends two each other and the input of the other two resitors and then end of thaby Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Yes I would try running them all in parrallel Also check what amperage you power supply can put out on the 12v rails (should be written on it) Should be at least 16amp.by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
These are simply power resistors, being used as heaters, quite common on repraps. details on the part Depensing on how this is wired, combination of parallel and serial will determine the final resistance and have a bareing on how hot it can get. If you description is correct you have a resitance of 5.5 ohms, wich sounds really high (my PCB HBP is about 1ohm) Running them all in parallel thby Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Many are starting to run their steppers on 24volt. Gives alot more power and a higher top speed. And yes they are good for 24volt Heated bed pates Here is a nice doc on going 24v with ramps if anyones interstedby Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group

Caps are also 16v, so if your thinking of running a 24 volt system, you will have to upgrade them. The smaller caps do look like they have been replaced with surface mount. To what effect if any.. who knows.by Dust - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I think you chasing red hearings, no one has reported any date based bugs. The controller also doesn't do anything date related.
