Thank you for all your replies, this community is great! Problem fixed! Luckily, in removing the nozzle (cold!), the filament came out with it. Then I just popped the nozzle in the oven at 210C and melted the filament and pushed that through the nozzle with some more filament, problem sorted! This was actually quite a nice fix in the end. Lesson learnt though.. don't run the filament to the endby Printsperation - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi there folks, Bit of an odd one that's never happened to me before. The filament ended before the print and I tried to swap over to a new reel of filament mid print (which didn't work but that's ok). I am now trying to get new filament through the extruder but can't as I think the old filament is still too far up the extruder to pull through. I have a prusa i3 with an all metal hot end andby Printsperation - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi again everyone. I have just quickly stuck a print on to record it. I have recorded it as a stop motion (1 frame every 0.5s) with the idea being that if the nozzle seems to stay in one position longer than that would show that the nozzle is stopping and that would explain what is going on. I have attached a quick video to show that this is not the case. But I am still getting blobs. The blobs sby Printsperation - General
Thanks for your feedback everyone! Knew the reprap community would be able to help me out! Apologies for not supplying more info (silly of me). I have a prusa I3 with a hexagon all metal hotend with bulldog lite extruder (therefore can't really see internally to the gear wheel). I print off and SD and my prusa I3 uses ramps 1.4 and uses Marlin firmware. Cura is my slicer. I will try another prby Printsperation - General
Hi everyone! Have been printing fine for a good while now but lately I have begun to notice these strange blobs randomly on my prints. I have no idea why this keeps happening. It seems to be my nozzle extrudes too much filament at certain points for some reason. Has anyone seen this before? And if so, what was happening and what's the fix? Looking forward to hearing people's experiences of thiby Printsperation - General
Hi JM, thanks for your help! I will do this asap and get back to you. Thanks againby Printsperation - Prusa i3 and variants
That's what I thought initially and increasing the z axis offset definitely helps but I feel like the autobed levelling doesn't do anything as it doesnt seem to take this into account. I now have some areas laying down the first layer nicely and others areas that struggle, while yet other areas the nozzle is too far away from the print bed and the filament paths don't connect to one another :/by Printsperation - Prusa i3 and variants
hi everyone! I have a prusa i3 (from ooznest) and haven't printed in around 2 weeks. Having just put a print on I am noticing that it is printing very strangely. Does anyone have any idea why it might be doing this?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!by Printsperation - Prusa i3 and variants
I have just finished putting together my prusa i3 (first printer) from ooznest. I have been really impressed with the kit and the company. Every question I have had has been answered and the kit comes really well packaged. The build instructions are great too. I would highly recommend getting a kit from somewhere that will offer you help when you encounter problems... because you will definitelyby Printsperation - Prusa i3 and variants
Awesome, thanks! Do you know if the rods are just stainless steel, or hardened steel? This seems to be the last piece of the puzzle for me. Customer service for all of my questions so far before buying the kit have been great! Have you had any issues with their hotends as they are custom made by the company? Just looking to gain as much insight before committing to buy. Thanks!by Printsperation - General Mendel Topics
Did anyone here end up going for the 3Dlabtek prusa i3? I am close to getting one from them but want to know people's experiences with their kit first. If so, did anyone get the reinforced frame and aluminium x carriage, if so were they worth it? Thanks! Benby Printsperation - General Mendel Topics
thanks for the feedback everyone! It seems like both kits are pretty good... which doesn't make my life any easier. I do like how simple the ooznest looks to put together but at the same time I like the extras the 3dlabtek comes with (reinforced frame and a better LCD display). I think I will be happy with whatever I go with. What are the main reasons for going for a mendal90 over a prusa i3? Iby Printsperation - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Lars, Thank you for getting back to me. It was between the mendal90 and the prusa i3 initially and I ended up siding with the prusa i3 for cost reasons more than anything else. What is it that makes the mendal90 better in your eyes? You'e thrown a spanner into the works now! :p You get the glass for the heatbed and sample filament from the other company too it just doesn't explicitly say soby Printsperation - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi there folks, First time poster on this forum, but I have been using the forum for a while to try and figure out what I should be looking for. I am a product design engineer and have been wanting my own desktop FDM printer for a while. I really like the idea of going open source and so RepRap was an obvious way to go. After doing quite a bit of research (mostly through this forum) I decidedby Printsperation - Prusa i3 and variants
