No, the tape looks like light-brown-yellow papper. The kind of tape you use when you paint and dont want to get paint on something. But first, I now have to print with nylon, what should I use on the bed then? Can something go really wrong if I use the wrong material, or will it just be problem to loosen the object after printing? When you used paper, did the paper got stuck into the bed or inby Henrik Jansson - General
I have a new reprap prusa i3. The hotbed is made of aluminium, and I also got some kind of tape to cover this aluminium plate when I print PLA, it says. I also got some kind of plastic plate with small holes in, to use when I print ABS. Am I supposed to print directly on this plastic plate without any tape? What shall I use when I print nylon? Does it works with the tape? What happens if I justby Henrik Jansson - General
I have a problem with FreeCAD. I designed a tube in FreeCAD, but when I export it to .stl-format ( so I can use it in Repetier-Host) the tube becomes a cylinder. The hole in the tube disappears and the tube becomes a solid cylinder. Why? How can I design a tube in FreeCAD and print it out with Repetier-Host. The problem has not do with Repetier-Host, because if I open the exported .stl file agaiby Henrik Jansson - 3D Design tools
Yes, but it is the quality "perimeters" that is important. Will it be better with 0,3 instead of 0,4? If a printer is sold with 0,4 is it in some way made for just using 0,4 or can it also use 0,3?by Henrik Jansson - Prusa i3 and variants
I have seen Reprap Prusa i3 printers with 0,3 and 0,4 mm "standard extruder diameter". Will 0,3 give better printing with smaller details? If I buy a printer with 0,4mm extruder head, can I change it to 0,3mm? Or is there anything more than just the extruder that has to be changed?by Henrik Jansson - Prusa i3 and variants
Sorry i meant PCB. I thougt they meant the chemical PCB , Polychlorinated Biphenyls, that has been used in some electronic stuff, transformers for exampel. And that chemical is now forbidden, because it was very dangerous. But if it is printed circuit board they mean it is no problem.by Henrik Jansson - Prusa i3 and variants
Ok, thanks! Some of the Reprap Prusa i3 printers has PCB in the heated bed. Is that common? I thought PCP was forbidden, at least in my country because it is a very poisonous chemical.by Henrik Jansson - Prusa i3 and variants
Ok. Which parts wear most often? Is it easy to get new parts for this printer? How fast do the print? If I print a solid cube that is 1 cm, how long time would that take?by Henrik Jansson - Prusa i3 and variants
I am about to but my first 3D printer. It will be a Reprap Prusa i3. But there are alot of different models to chose between. One model is called "HICTOP" and is made of aluminium, and it has a little bit bigger build area, ( 270x210x195) than most others. Another more common model on ebay is called Greeetech and it had a buid area of about 210x210x210. There are aldo 200 and 220mm with the saby Henrik Jansson - Prusa i3 and variants
