Hello , i just revived my Ormerod 2 after few years of it lying in a corner and i am wondering ,anyone still using Ormerod 2 and configured Orca slicer for it? if so can you post the configuration for it? i want to try it ,but seems a bit complicated for me,by Darathy - Ormerod
solved it, i have left my ormerod on the shelf too long and forgot most of how to update.by Darathy - Ormerod
first one looks ok to me ,but second you have red wire as first ,i might have older/newer ormerod 2 with diferent wires:by Darathy - Ormerod
The Extruder works really well for me ,havent had any problems with it. As for the ABS sticking i suggest you buy this: I am using it and it sticks to it really good ,i sometimes have a bit of a problem geting PLA off but otherwise its good. I have stoped using Slic3r since i invested in Simplify3D(its expensive but worth the 150$)by Darathy - Ormerod
you will probably have to print another peice to mount the extruder somewhere if you will choose those two and printing the ormerod spring loaded one will probably be easier.by Darathy - Ormerod
Even if it was bridgable it would be a pain to remove the bridging material later when it would be closed up.by Darathy - Ormerod
I have been using this and evrything sticks to it like nuts ABS Pla no problem and its quite cheap....by Darathy - Ormerod
QuoteSardi The only thing you can buy in my god forsaken country is aceton, so I gave it a shot with that. Will see in a couple of hours how it turned out. I know the feeling ,i live in the same kind of country xDby Darathy - Ormerod
The bearing seemed to move ok by hand but i replaced it and replaced the one at the idler and seems to have gone away. Strange it didnt feel like it was bad moving by hand.by Darathy - Ormerod
ok i replaced the belt and i still seem to get a rough spots where the hot end would stop for a split second and move on. Could be the linear bearing? or bearing inside the nema 17(altho i find it unlikely since it would bind on more spots).by Darathy - Ormerod
So yesterday i ran into a small problem with my X-axis the carriage would get stuck in one position and motor couldnt move it. I pushed it with my arm and got it unstuck but noticed that when i moved the carriage left and right there were some hard spots where it would have difictulty moving. Today i disassembled the X-arm to replace the linear bearing( i thought it was the problem) but once iby Darathy - Ormerod
That some bad fillament ,where did it come from? I suggest you contact the store you bought it from and make a refound ,either they send you a new spool or money back. And never buy from them again , I have some which will vary between 1.68-1,75mm but never that bad.by Darathy - Ormerod
used for ziptie the cables in place atleast thats what i use it forby Darathy - Ormerod
Dont think its a mirror ,the distance betweetn rods is slightly different i think.by Darathy - Ormerod
Ok G4 P800 seems to be working now ,thanksby Darathy - Ormerod
Quotedc42 QuoteDarathy Question abaut this, if networking doesnt restart after the "software" reset ,is there something wrong with duet? I doubt it, more likely a timing issue between the Duet and your router. You could try adding a delay (G4 Pxxx) command in config.g to delay the network being activated again. Adding G4 P005 to P999 didnt make a diference ,after reset the webinterface cant coby Darathy - Ormerod
Quotedc42 Pressing Emergency Stop resets the Duet, so the networking has to start up again and connect to the router before DWC can access it. Hence the delay. Question abaut this, if networking doesnt restart after the "software" reset ,is there something wrong with duet?by Darathy - Ormerod
You can update the firmware from the webinterface: Download the latest webinterface: Install it onto the SD card in the www folder(dont know which webinterface you have but newer you can go to settings->and press "Upload Files" and select the webinterface zip) Restart the browser and do the same thing with the Firmware .bin file as i discribled in the () above. As for not being able to seby Darathy - Ormerod
It did same for me. I had to add M83 to start of pause.g and resume.g to work normalyby Darathy - Ormerod
yep and after fiddeling araund trying to fix it i gave up xD I am planing on reworking the Y axis completely making it easyer to fix it.by Darathy - Ormerod
Well this looks encouraging...by Darathy - Ormerod
I have printed it and works great .even better then acrylic which was brittle.by Darathy - Ormerod
Check that the nozzle diameter is set to 0.5mm(if you havde 0.5mm nozzle) not lower(or highter) and that you are using 1,75 fillament in the printer/fillament settings page.by Darathy - Ormerod
Quotedc42 Regardless of firmware version, you should always use M83 at the start of macro files that do relative extruder moves, such as your pause.g and resume.g, to ensure that extrusion is relative. Yes putting M83 in the macro files solved the problem. And Under machine properties theres a button "Download Hightmap" which doesnt seem to do anything when i press it. Neither in chrome or firby Darathy - Duet
Quoteo_lampe Is it always 250mm or does it depend on the amount of filament used before? Maybe you have to change from absolute ( M82 ) to relative ( M83 ) e-moves. At the end of the macro you have to switch back to absolute. Well i'm not sure how much it retracts ,but its always same to almost to the end of the bowden tube. I do use M83 at the start of the Gcode ,but there are no commands in thby Darathy - Duet
If i hit Pause now it will retract it abaut ~250mm instead of 4mm which is Written in the Pause.g: ; Pause macro file G1 E-4 F2500 ; retract 4mm G91 ; relative moves G1 Z5 F5000 ; raise nozzle 2mm G90 ; absolute moves G1 X0 Y200 F5000 ; move head out of the way of the print And if i press resume it will only move 4mm and not the ~250 it retracted from the Pause button: ; Resume macby Darathy - Duet
Quotedc42 QuoteDarathy ok since i updated to 1.17RC3 my X axis reversed itself. What was the Code that reversed it in my config file? I covered this in the upgrade notes that I linked to. Oh sorry ,i didnt see thatby Darathy - Duet
