Somebody stop me!! One of my favorite things to do is make tools holders with my printer. And I have been printing a lot of them. My latest masterpiece is a small screwdriver holder for my favorite small screwdrivers (Wiha). The red holder would be nearly impossible to make even with CNC as every hole has a nice draft angle to match the drivers. Sure it could be done but the BerryBot3D did it easy. Cura did a beautiful job of slicing the model!! All moves were made in the model space!! I have been playing with modeling my extruder idea and attached a few pics. In playing with it I had a few other ideas I think I will have to play with. Basically a small version of my top mounted extruder but canted at a 45 degree angle located directly over the barrel on my end effector.
Hope you Guys are building and printing like crazy!
Werner

Very nice. Your extruder vision is coming into focus. I'm a little concerned about the kink in the filament - seems like loading it would be difficult. Though I suppose that since you'd have to engage the motor/gear to load new filament anyway, that'd handle the kink issue a bit better - since the filament would be grabbed pretty early on in the feed. So, not manual, but not a huge issue, likely.

If I were to do this, I suppose a I'd modify the firmware to include a couple other custom g-code entries - to do the load/unload. Then I'd modify the menu setup to have those be immediately available options. I've done something similar with my MendelMax 1.5 to help out with homing everything (since I purposely mounted the magnetic z endstop lower than my table). I just call G93 (in my case) and I'm good to go - or click the equivalent menu option I added to my copy of marlin.

Keep it up!
Jeremy

Looking Good Berry , Its realy interesting conncept. If it can move fast enought... Maybe there some multiplyer gearbox-motor? With a spring loded contact plate it can probably be a quick load. (a sprint wrap around in a groove...)

keep up the good work , I am still on my renovation project, but I am still preparing my build in my head ;oP

happy building Guys

Frank

p.s. I will try to draw someting to give more detail... now that I think about maybe magnet ;oP

Well I'm going to take the plunge and build a BerryBot style Delta printer. I've watched all your videos. What are your prefered electronics to date? I'm costing out this build now. Also which motors are you using? I already ordered my magnets and will go with the aluminum extrusion you discuss in your video.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to CNC or 3D printing for DIY parts.

Thanks

Maxi

Maxi, I was in the same position... I wasnt that interested in a delta until I saw Werners bot! Unfortunately I dont have a cnc or the metal working tools either.
So using Werners ideas I made a printed version using parts I literally had laying around.
Heres a video of what I got so far.....

Again everything I have here is due to Werners ideas and engineering. ..

Hi James, How are you doing Buddy? And please you can call me Werner! I have been printing and building every day! I have hundreds of hours of video to go through I have just been having so much fun I haven’t wanted to take the time to put together videos. Here is a list of the shows coming up:
The BerryBot3D first 1000 hours
The end effector final design working fantastic!
3D printing huge models “6 foot BerryRocket”
Fixing and slicing less than perfect STL models
Designing models for 3D printing
Changing color in 10 seconds semi-automatic
Ditching the Bowden tube for amazing prints
Don’t be afraid 3D printing is easy!
So you want to build a printer, questions answered
I have so many cools things I want to share I just need to set aside the time to do it. It ends up taking me up a full day or two to put one together. I really want to provide good content as not to waste your time watching them. It’s fun though I enjoy it.
Thanks again for the shout out James!
Happy Building / Printing
Werner

I came upon your videos last week and watched all in one sitting, some twice. Ended up staying up real late and when I finally went to asleep I had a dream I was fishing and you were on the boat fishing with me... lol

Your craftsmanship, attention to fine details and aesthetically appealing designs are a thing we can all attempt to glean from.

Looking forward to these new videos!

Yeah, and largely due to Werner's videos and innovation, I'm commissioning a cnc router. Now I just need to make friends with someone who is good at welding aluminum. : )

Hello Werner, kudos on the innovative delta printer development. The BerryBot 3d is truly a masterpiece of engineering ingenuity smiling smiley

Please excuse my ignorance, but I was wondering if the the BerryBot 3d is open source? Is there a place where I could find a BOM and assembly instructions to build one of these myself?

Better yet, are you planing on selling kits in the near future. If so I would be happy to buy one and help promote your development work.

Hi Werner!
I love your machine! You've developed wonderful solutions!
I'd love to build one as my second printer. I've built one prusa I2 but it prints far less as good as yours!
Anyway, I'm still missing some info that would be great to know. (If possible).
It'd be great to know dimensions for SW base, carriages, hotend platform and lengths for the v-rails and arms rods.
It would be needed also to know wich angle did you bent the support part for the magnet balls and wich kind of belt did you used (gt2, t2.5, t5...).
Again congratulations for your printer!
And hope no to bother you too much with that amount of questions.

Best regards,
Raul.

Hi Guys, Been having toooooo much fun look what I just pulled of the BerryBot3D. Literally the plastic is still warm Haha. Frank I have a new design that is working super cool and its super tiny. I will be dissecting and talking about it in the next video I should have up by the end of the weekend. Also I built the coolest tool for thermal setting plastic inserts into your printed parts for about $20 bucks. I love this tool and know you will want one for yourself. I have also been playing with a constant torque spring pulley (I printed) that takes about 1.4lb of the weight off the end effector. Even though it works fantastic I am going to go with the obvious lead counter weight. I designed a really cool way to have it totally concealed of course using printed parts. The differential with the spring is about .4 lb in 18 inches. Of course the counter weight is perfectly constant and works better that fantastic! I printed the Hexacopter at 100-150mm and 500mm rapids and it came out perfect!! My new favorite print by an order of magnitude.
Happy building and printing!!
Werner

Hi Werner,

I have been following your epic story since it first hit the interweb, and I have the same questions as Shuyak. I am also wondering the same regarding how to get all the silly little dimensions. I have as much info as has been posted, ie planetary steppers, carbon rod length, magnetic spheres etc but am wondering if there is to be a BOM so all us budding Berryboteers get to be on the same page.....

Werner,
Fantastic design! Minimal part count yet robust.....perfect combination.
I had just started a Rostock build when I stumbled upon your build....I immediately changed coarse and started my own BarryBot build smiling smiley

Here are some of my wood prototype parts....I wanted to verify the cut files before committing to aluminum plate.

Werner,

I too have been smitten by the Berry printer. Having a Type A Machine Series 1, for 3D printing in PLA, I find myself needing the ability to print also in ABS along with other higher temp materials that require a heated bed. That is why I think your Delta design will fulfill my needs. What I need to ask of you is a BOM so that I and others might follow in your footsteps. I realize that you are very busy, but if you could provide the BOM many of us would be in your debt

Sincerely,

Joseph

Hey Rad great job!! You need to add access holes for the belt? Just kidding I know you realize that! Guys I have not had much time and am still working on a video I wanted to get posted last weekend! I will put out more info just as soon as I can. Rad I love the laser!! I have designed one that I am working on myself! A great tool to have!! 2’ X 4’ 150-180 watt. I am looking forward to making smoke myself. I have decided that I am going to put together a Google Group just for BerryBoteers. It will be by invitation only but of course it is for you Guys! I will post all the info for the original BerryBot3D along with a lot of other info including STL models for all kinds of things. I will but it together this week, send me a PM with your email and I will set you up!
Have a great weekend!

To be honest I did forget the belt holes....noticed the error when I pulled it from the laser. I have a few other changes to make as well, but hey that's why I cut sacrificial parts to test fit and functiongrinning smiley Your laser design is looking good. I completed mine back in June....I use it all the time it has about 20 hrs of cut time on it already It's a great companion to my cnc router. If your interested I have a build log for the machine over at buildlog.net (http://www.buildlog.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1990) here's a few laser build photos.

I am interested in joining your group....I'll send you my email addy.

Hey guys here are the pictures of my Kossel/Berrybot inspired machine that I just finished this weekend. Still working out some kinks with the extruder, I tried to just use a plain stepper but it didn't have the grunt but I do have the 5:1 on hand, but the machine moves awesome, so fast and smooth. Some of the differences is that I went with filament drive, flat counter sunk magnets with a little PTFE tape on them, laser cut acrylic frame and the auto bed level probe built in to the hotend. I'm super excited and can't wait until I can start printing!!! High on my list are better idle pully brackets with spring tensioning system, 3d printed mag connector for the wires at the hot end and lots more brackets to make it even stiffer! There is already a very good delta bot google group that any one interested in the machines should check out.

Thanks for sharing Guys!! Really great projects!! Wayne I read through your build log super cool. You did a nice job documenting everything. Getting my laser project started is very high on my priority list if I just was not having so much fun printing it would be done! Haha. I just posted the NEW VIDEO I had been working on it has a couple of cool things in it, Check it out: [www.youtube.com]

Found the Google Delta Bot Group ... Thanks
Question: What are you using for a hot end? It is similair to Werners, but I can't seem to find a source to it ... Or is it constructed?
