Thermistor lead insulation...
December 02, 2015 03:45PM
I am building a custom 3d printer (cartesian style), using parts from an eventor bot. I cannot for the life of me find PTFE heat shrink that fits the leads of the 100k glass bead thermistor, I ordered. What has everyone else been using for this? The diameter of the leads is 0.19mm. Any ideas... or I just need to try to find a thermistor with thicker leads... Thanks ahead of time for any input!

Mine came pre made with glass fiber insulation. I've also seen silicone insulation or kapton tape. I've since switched to a thermocouple which came with glasd fiber insulation.

I ordered some of this. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it is for 30 AWG wire. This was suggested to me by someone else when I asked the same question.

You can follow the link to get some teflon sleeves, or you can just wrap the leads with kapton tape if you have some lying around.
