Extruder motor not responding
October 06, 2014 02:48AM
Hello,

I am using Prusa i3 3D printer.

When I extrude manually some filament from extruder using Pronterface, the extruder motor does not respond.

Does anyone had this issue?

Regards,
Prashant.

Is it plugged into the correct spot on the board?
Are you connected to the printer in Pronterface?
Is your hot end heated up?
Can you move using the manual controls?
Is your current set properly?

hi,
I have done it correctly everything you mentioned.
Also I swapped the pololu drivers and checked, but no success....

Try switching the extruder motor with either the X, Y, or Z motor and see if it will turn when you use the respective manual controls.

oh, and also double check to make sure you have it set up with the correct pins the your firmware.

I tried switching themotors.... it works fine. Motor is not at fault.
I even tried switching another pololu driver, still it does not work.

Any changes to be made in pins.h file for ATMEGA2560, marlin firmware?

I have a similar problem too. But i connected the extruder motor to the Y-axis pins on Ramps and it works just fine.
So atleast the motor works alright.
Have you tried varying the potentiometer? Sometimes the current being supplied to the motor may not be sufficient to get it working

The motor works when connected to X, Y axis.... also it does when connected to E0/E1 but response is delayed....

It rotates with some time lapse....

Prashant.
