Hi Cefiar, Thank you for your view. I do little tests with 2 of those in serie, just to see how it goes . I will definitely try the ceramic one ( ordered already ) , i think it could be very cool if it works. It's still so much less expensive than heaterblock.by imprime3d - Controllers
Hi all, i've just burned a 12v cartridge after switshing to a laptop alime 20 vots. All went ok , but not the cartridge ( i forgot it was a 12v . I would like, for waiting , touse a resistor 6.8 (3 watts) , but from what i understand , it will consume 56 watts ! so i guess it will burn too ?? if i put 2 in series , should be ok i guess ?by imprime3d - Controllers
Hi Sublime, Thank you for those infos. I think the best now is to try with different lengths and see what happen ? ( and of course, posting here the results 200mm would be more than perfect in my view. Thxby imprime3d - Tantillus
Hi, I'm starting printing parts to build one copy of this wonderful design. One question went in my mind as browsing parts in blender: What prevent me to build an extended size Tantillus ? I mean around 150x150 to 200x200 print size. Am i wrong or is it just about taking longer rods and editing holes placement in panels ? I know .. it sounds too simple to be right thank you for any thoughts aby imprime3d - Tantillus
sorry i think i post something in the wrong thread ( was in Prusa Jr. Chastises & Leaves THINGIVERSE ). I was wondering what licence would be perfect for everyone for a thingiverse like website ? ( in better of course . or another one ? I'm web developer and thinking hard about building such a thing in an open way ( not being held by any commercial entity) . I believe the price oby imprime3d - General
I would be very interested to know what licence would be perfect for thingiverse ? ? anything else ? I wonder because i'm thinking to start building a thingiverse like website, independant from any commercial company .by imprime3d - General
Thank you , That is very interesting ( I admitt i didn't enter in details like you just did ). I just noticed there was an experimental card using it . I love the spirit of gen7, because it's the real reprap style ( do it simply , cheap and with home tools ), I try in spare time to look for nice upgrades . So you think it would be interesting to look further ? I think with this kind of chip,by imprime3d - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Hi, I was wondering if someone thought about using a Allegro 3992 for generation 7 ? It exists in dip package , so maybe a simple card could still made with steper controler inside ? I didn't study it really, but before i do i prefer ask here ? Thank youby imprime3d - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
HO yes. I thought about heat gun too hair dryer would just...dry the board i guess ? lol I tried to reflow with candle, i find it more poetic . Unfortunately, i forgot to read all the post and didn't removed the pins. hehe. I just burned plastic for now , but no reflow.. my bad. Unsolder, then candle again. Thx all anyway. It's fun . Ha, yes. maybe better for my poor epoxy ? I will try that first. Thxby imprime3d - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Thank you, I catched the culprint from the beginning my first tests was to exchange the modules . I could isolate this module this way : Axis never work with this one for sure . I will try to reflow, could be funny. I didn't smell birned epoxy for long time . I will tell if it changed something. Thxby imprime3d - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Thank you, I will check that. The module is already on a testing board, so i can just put single steps to see what happend. Sergeby imprime3d - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Hi, I'm curious about your thoughts on this : i bought 4 stepsticks and use them in a generation 7 card for my fresh new repstrap. One of them is acting strangely and make the motor only vibrate ( no turn). It's the stepstick for me because this behavior (only vibrate) happend on any line ( X, Y, Z) when i use this module and the same line works perfectly with another module. Question is : Iby imprime3d - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
