Pronterface and skeinforge. Nuff said.by jkomp316 - General
Lol, back in the day someone registered whitehouse.org and copied the entire whitehouse.gov website. They added outrageous comments and such. I just checked and its no longer around. That's what this reminds me of.by jkomp316 - General
I ordered everything from mcmaster carr for about $40. Was enough for 7 of them.by jkomp316 - Developers
are you sure your feed and flow settings are correct? what is the nozzle size?by jkomp316 - Reprappers
I'm still using the v1.0 yet. I've had no issues with seeping or feeding. My power resistor/block can't keep up past 40mm/s, but I don't contribute that to your design. I think I need more threads on the tip.by jkomp316 - Developers
when printing on any type of masking tape, make sure you wipe it down with rubbing alcohol first. if its got grease from your fingers on it, it wont stick.by jkomp316 - General
Looks nice for cnc projects. Reprap z axis sees little action though. A tight bushing would give the same results.by jkomp316 - General Mendel Topics
For such a DIY project, I'm actually kinda dissapointed everyone insists on buying premade hot ends... Yes I know they work great, but $75+ vs under $10 to build your own... I've had good luck with north90ty's ver 1.0by jkomp316 - General Mendel Topics
I couldn't get Marlin 1.0 to even compile. Running the lighter nongen6 version was easy though. I have a sanguiolouloulou board.by jkomp316 - General
I would like to see a build registration database. One could compile data based on the parts chosen most. The next question though would be how to prevent fraudulent votes.by jkomp316 - Developers
Did he inform you what he changed in the firmware? We all appreciate awnsers.by jkomp316 - General
I posted some files up here - Still learning the whole github process yet...by jkomp316 - Developers
is the carriage tight without the belts attached? do your electronics have 4 adjustable pots on the board?by jkomp316 - Reprappers
Make sure the baud rate is matching on the software/hardware ends.by jkomp316 - General
Could be nozzle temp dropping. What speed are you running?by jkomp316 - General
Yes that's the one caveat of the design. A requirement would be spending $ on the leadscrew. I've found some promising stuff at mcmaster carr. 6350K12 - fast travel multiple start 1" per revolution. Cost is $132 per 6ft, but would be enough to do 2 printers. The plus side though, it would last the lifetime of the machine.by jkomp316 - Developers
cheapest would be salvaged/used steppers. there's a bunch of auctions out there for these, most were pulled from large scale business printers/plotters. these would work nice, and they got heat sinks to boot.by jkomp316 - General Mendel Topics
Seeing that everyone's forgotten about it, I invested some time into compiling a new design. My goal is to incorporate an ultimaker style gantry into a new style Darwin while using the 'bare-bones' attitude of the prusa. Here's what I've come up with so far. It only exists within solidworks at the moment, I've printed a few pieces but haven't assembled or tested anything yet. I'd really likeby jkomp316 - Developers
Anyone try gutting an old soldering iron. I would think the heat/insulation materials would all be there. Aside from running 110v to your hot end.by jkomp316 - General
Are you using pronterface? That normally happens when you don't reset the machine after cancelling a job.by jkomp316 - General Mendel Topics
The traps on the SAE chassis are 6-32. The extruder is still metric.by jkomp316 - General Mendel Topics
I used brass bushings. There's all kinds of bushing material that will work, it just needs to be match fitted to the rods. To keep things simple the PLA ones will work fine, just slide them on. If they're tight yet you can heat one end of the rod and slide it over and back until it conforms.by jkomp316 - Reprappers
Try doing a slow print at 190C.by jkomp316 - Reprappers
Clip and retract are mainly for blobbing issues. Layer height and extrusion diameter sound like what your looking for.by jkomp316 - General
I think you can get up to 2A a coil with the Pololu drivers, but you will need a decent heatsink/fan combo on them They offer higher power drivers but it will require modification to the board. I'm using a Sanguinololu - I found it to be the cheapest/easiest solution.by jkomp316 - Reprappers
