Hello all, I am running a prusa mendel with sanguiololu 1.3a controls. I recently wanted to switch one of my axis steppers to a more powerful stepper, and I seem to be running into a few issues. Originally I had a 4 wire stepper 1.8 rev per step, and I was going to replace that with a 6 wire stepper motor with the same 1.8 rev per step, but it was at a slightly lower current. So I disregardedby tncheck - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Hey All, Prusa Mendel sangunio 1.3a board with pololu drivers Windows 7 64bit computer I have been doing some printer for a while now and now that I have the hang of it I want to start experimenting with some more features. I have always used sprinter firmware on my printer and it has always worked pretty good. Motors seem to run loud, but not sure if that is always common. Basically I haveby tncheck - Reprappers
Lsutehall, Wow thank you so much for putting together that blog. I was literally having the exact same problems as you. It seemed that my main problem/thing I was missing, was setting the filter in libusb. I had libusb installed, but the key was to set the filter up to recognize the chip. Once I did this I opened up ardrino and just selected the burn with avrisp ii and it worked right away.by tncheck - Sanguino(lolu)
Sorry for the slow response and I appreciate the help. I am still back to sqaure one. I currently have (borrowed from work) an AVR ISP II Two boards, one sang 1.2 and one sang 1.3 and I have a slip of ten 644p chips assuming that I will go through a few before I figure this out. I thought I was able to put the bootloader on a chip by downloading AVR Studio 5, opening the programmer, turnedby tncheck - Sanguino(lolu)
I have the same set up, and it was a pain for me to get mine connected too. The bautrate you need to set yours too is 115200. This was not my problem. When you plug your device into your computer are u seeing a com port pop up In your device manager, correct? Verify that is the com selected in audrino. If that is working my problem was the reset sequence before uploading. In audrino before youby tncheck - Sanguino(lolu)
Hey all, There are so many forums out there it is very difficult to determine what is the best way to burn the boot loader on the 644p chip. I have a working Sanigiololu 1.3a Mother board and my computer recognized by board through a USB, I just burned out my Chip so I had to get a new one and it didn't have the boat-loader on it. That being said, what is the best way for a person to load thiby tncheck - Sanguino(lolu)
Are you able to find the Pololu Stepper Drivers on Digi Key also?by tncheck - Sanguino(lolu)
Hey all, I was wondering if I could get some help as to how to turn my 8 wire stepper motor into a 4 wire configurations that will work with sangulolu 1.3a controls and Pololu A4988 stepper drivers. I attached a wire diagram from the stepper manufacturer. I think you can just not hook up 4 wires as some wires are redundant, but I just need help as to what to do. Thanks all!by tncheck - General
Electronics are defiantly not my thing, so sorry for the dumb question, but I am not familiar with how to communicate via SPI. Is this a driver i download on my computer? Or a different cord i use to hook up to the board?by tncheck - Sanguino(lolu)
Thanks for the help. Is there any way to check and see if the mofsets or the ftdi chip are burned? For instance can I check voltage or resistance on the objects that could indicate there status? I also have an extra board here, all that I have to swap out is the 644p chip and the stepper drivers. I made the switch and wasn't able to get that board to communicate via USB either. So this meansby tncheck - Sanguino(lolu)
Hey all, I was wondering if I could get some insight on this topic. I am using the standard Sanguinolou 1.3a controls and all was working fine untill a small washer droped on my board and created a short between the NEG terminal of the extruder heater and the POS Terminal of the Bed heater output. There was a clear spark when contact was made. After this I wasn't able to communicate with theby tncheck - Sanguino(lolu)
Hey Guys, Attached a picture of my last part that I printed. After a while of printing the printer slightly moves off course, and then moves back to his original location after a few layers. You can see that during the print it went back and forth four time. I have a prusa mendel, sangulou electronics, wades extruder. My belts are tight, and I can't think of anything else what would cause thby tncheck - Reprappers

Hey Guys, I have attached a few photos of my first print. I have a mendel with sprinter elec. Wades extruder and .35mm nozzel. The sqaures were pinted at different speeds, one slower and one faster. It is clear that the slower one is a bitter. The other parts were printed on the slower speed. I used Slic3r to do this because I couldn't get my feed and flow rate to coinceid in skeinforge. Hey guys, I have a Prusa mendel with sprinter and am using a wades gear extruder with .35mm nozzle. I seem to be having slight issues in two different areas. I am using replicator G with steinforge 40, and I have been told replace commands 103,101, and 108 as they are obsolete. When I use the replace.csv file in the alterations folder all seems to work fine, but am I just suppose to comment ouby tncheck - Reprappers
Hey guys, I finally got through sorting out my positioning problems and the printer can read the gcode and follow the path. However I am not able to extrude. I have a waxes extruded with a nicam wire wrapped in a rock type surface like furnace cement. When trying to fix the errors the rock crumbled and fell apart. So I just put a few layers of kapton on the extruded shaft and then wrapped thby tncheck - General
I mis-spoke before you can diregaurd my last message. Printer is able to move correclty and acts like it printing, exept my extruder never starts. I can manually start the extruder from the control plane and can get it to extrude materail, exept I have to physicly push down on the plasstic to get the extruder to put out a steady stream of plastic. I tried 200 220 and 240 for temp, but it didn'by tncheck - General
Thanks again, this seems to work. I see in the start gcode there is an item that says go to extruder home. What does this do, do I need to remove this also? I am now able to make the printer move correct and it begins to print the part, the only problem is the extruder motor does run. Is it possible that this has something to do with the positioning also?by tncheck - General
I can't seem to find a forum that explains how to set my endstops in the code. Because I don't have physical end stops I need to make sure I tell the machine how far it can go. Is there a way to do this?by tncheck - General
This did the trick. I can now move all three axises in both direction. Now I just need to figure out how to manually set the end stops in the software, or define the home position in the code. As of right now when I try and home the head it just keeps going. Thanks for the help.by tncheck - General
That is interesting. No I do not have my endstops in, or have them period. I had someone who has done this before make my machine/board for me and says that he had it up and running before he sent it out. To shut them off in the sprinter firmware would I just have to change this in one spot, probally the configuration file? Or are there multiply stops where I need to change this? Thanks forby tncheck - General
I can't seem to get my Prusa Mendel up and running correctly. Here is some of my info and what I have tried. The remaining problems that I have are that my z and extruder positions on my moter board are not working, and I can't move the x and Y motors in the NEG direction.
