I've recently bought a second prusa i3 varient, the HICTOP HIC-3DP11 Amazon, the first one i bought was a cheap piece of crap that immediately broke, so i purchased a second one. From what i have managed to scavenge on the internet, it uses an MKS board, but i couldn't find what firmware it came loaded with. However, because i'm more of a programmer than a mechanical engineer, when i was puttingby Mumblemore - General Mendel Topics
Yep, it's really easy to do it by handby Mumblemore - General
I highly doubt that it's the temperature being too low because i've tried everything from 185 all the way up to 215 (i'm using PLA) and the same issue happens regardless,by Mumblemore - General
I adjusted the throat and now it extrudes when i press the extruder button in pronterface, but it doesn't extrude during a print, the head moves like it should, and from what i can tell the extruder motor is still moving, but it isn't extruding any filament, i tried with several different gcode files that were created using cura, Any Suggestions?by Mumblemore - General
thanks for the help, i figured out the jamming issue was because I was heating the hotend before inserting the filament, so the top was just that little bit hot enough to melt it and get built up around the top. However, that appears to only be half the problem, it now isn't pulling the filament down thorugh the extruder. Here is a video of the extruder running, but not pulling the filament throuby Mumblemore - General
I'm having some issues with my extruder, When I try and extrude filament, be it during a print or by extruding X amount of filament in pronterface, the extruder will only extrude about 10mm of filament before it gets clogged around the top of the feed tube, I've changed the tube (for another unrelated issue) but i'm still having the same problem. I have a feeling it may be that the filament if meby Mumblemore - General
I've been having issues with my hotend not heating after i set a target temperature in pronterface, it also won't heat if i select the preheat on the LCD, i'm using a Prusa i3 kit from sintron and running marlin. Originally i thought it may have been an issue with the arduino as i was having issues with it connecting to my pc, so i changed it out with another 2560 i have and flashed it with marlby Mumblemore - General
nvm, i fixed the issue by changing the home of the X-axis in Marlin and re-uploading, now i just need to wait for my HBP screws and springs to show up and i can start printing. Does anyone have any helpful tips for my first print, i'm gonna print a filment holder that'll mount to the top of the frame. This one: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1300701by Mumblemore - General
I've done that, it isn't an issue with the endstop i don't think, i think it may be searching for the X-Max endstop, which i don't have wired in because i only had enough clips for all axis min positions, will that be an issue?by Mumblemore - General
Right, I think i've fixed most of the issues now, i think i just had a dodgy connection to the header i used, so i re soldered it and it seems to be fixed. However, i've tried to get the X-axis to home it self, however, it slids along, but doesn't stop moving, it keeps moving, and i have the turn it off before if damages something, i thought it was because it was reversed, so i flipped the connecby Mumblemore - General
I know that, i'm doing a GCSE in computer science and electronics, but will reversing the way the plug is plugged into the board affect/damage the motor?by Mumblemore - General
I've just hooked up the HBP thermistor to the hotend connections (T1) and it is reading temperature, so i assume i've damaged the thermistor somehow, not sure what i could've done to damage it, but nothing can help that now, Also, i've managed to get the motors to move about, using both the LCD and pronterface, however, they move in the reverse of how they should, is it safe to reverse the conneby Mumblemore - General
The bed plate reads room temp (for me it's between 16 and 20C), the hot end shows this: >>> gettemp Hotend: 0/0 which i assume is bad, and that it isn't reading the any temperatureby Mumblemore - General
The endstops are triggering when i press them, which is good. i don't think it's the thermistor, because i can't even feel a difference in the temperature in the HBP or hotend after about 10 mins i even got my gas soldering iron and ran the flame over the bed near the thermistor (not over it, i'm not that stupid) and the temperature of the bed went up (i let it go to 30 degreses C) on both the LCby Mumblemore - General

Thanks for the reply, I've unplugged the yellow wire (V+) and it seems to have fixed the endstops, out of curiosity, should they spit out any information into pronterface when pressed or not? And with the motors, the only error that gets sent out by pronterface is: "Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)"by Mumblemore - General
I've just finished assembling and wiring up my Sintron prusa i3 kit. i uploaded marlin to the arduino, however, i'm having 2 issues. Firstly, whenever i press the endstops, they cause the smoke to come out of the 2 boards, and make the printer reset, Secondly, none of the motors move when i try and move them in pronterfaceby Mumblemore - General
