I have two power supplies now, and all of my boards have power. Booting up Kubuntu, I cannot connect to my arduino. I tried my stepper exerciser again and I found it had stopped working. I fixed it eventually, and discovered why it would not work. My stepper driver will only work when it is the only one of the three, x y and z, that is plugged into my power source. Is this a problem with my power supply? I can keep the DC Motor Driver and/or PWM Driver connected to power, but not more than one stepper drivby jajo - Controllers
I have not been able to check for power with my multimeter yet, but I have some pictures uploaded at . They may not help at all, but it is worth a try. I will check using a multimeter tomorrow.by jajo - Controllers
The only preference that I change is the port. I change it to /dev/tty/USB0. The steppers is connected correctly, and I have shorted the correct wires together. I could not have blown out my L298/L297 chip. I have gotten the steppers to turn running an excersicer program on the arduino. How do I check the signal from the arduino? (what do I connect the other lead to) The only light that goeby jajo - Controllers
All of my motors are set to speed 236. They make no noise when I attempt to move them by clicking the "home" button. I am able to open the stepper exerciser. Removing the endstops does not make it work.by jajo - Controllers
If I make all of my boards masters, will I need to change board wiring? (Besides disconnecting the sync wires)by jajo - RepRap Host
Once again I have a problem. I am using the Live CD 0.6 and have gotten the program to connect to the arduino. Using the single arduino generation two electronics, I can use the software program to control my extruder motor. It still will not turn my stepper motors. They will turn when running and extruder excersiser. The dir and step pins are wired to the arduino, ground to the arduino grouby jajo - RepRap Host

I connected all of my boards- the stepper controllers, dc motor driver, and pwm driver- all to the arduino ground pin. Is this enough? Also, if I am using my Z-Axis board (that has a burnt out L298 chip) as the master, will the X and Y run still?by jajo - Controllers
I am using Generation Two Single Arduino. Where does the ground wire from the stepper drivers go to? Also, in the program's global preferences menu, I noticed ZAxisAddress, XAxisAddress, and YAxisAddress. What are those? Thanks, Jajoby jajo - Controllers
I have finally gotten the computer program working with my electronics, and have gotten the extruder exerciser running. My steppers will run with the stepper tester, but not with the stepper exerciser in the program or in build processes. I know that in the arduino program, my step and dir pins are in the correct places. Where do the other wires go? Or is there another error? Also, I think Iby jajo - Controllers

When I ran the message in konsole, this is what I got. I do not think it worked. " To run a command as administrator (user "root"), use "sudo ". See "man sudo_root" for details. ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ dmsesg | grep tty bash: dmsesg: command not found ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ " Also I think my power supply is broken. The lights are flickering really fast. My arduino light is on. I think one of the problems I may be having is my arduino is hooked up to the electronics with a mess. I am going to order the Arduino Breakout Shield 1.4 when Zach makes it available in the RRRF. Also, I could not find terminal. Or the accessories menu. I know it is faster to use your email, but I am running my live CD 0.6 (or is it 0.7) Do you happen to know how Iby jajo - RepRap Host
Wade: But while running kubuntu, do I use dev\tty\usb0 or do I use COM0? And is there a command prompt in kubuntu? I am using the live cd now. Also, My electronics (a bit off topic now) when turned on, the power LEDs blink on and off. The Software runs without talking about an error, but when I click on the "rotate x" button to test the stepper, It does not work. Jajoby jajo - RepRap Host
Wade: I tried to use the Live DVD 0.7 but could not see the button in the preferences window to save changes. I use a windows computer, but am running the live DVD. Do I use COM0 or do I use \dev\tty\USB0? I have never used more than xp, it is new to me. Also, where can I get v0.6, and does it use Ubuntu or Kubuntu? Thanks, Jajoby jajo - RepRap Host
I have an error in the RepRap Software. forest- Does you program use the arduino? And who do you think might be able to help me with the reprap program?by jajo - General
I completely agree with reprapper, reprap is seriously failing. Amongst what reprapper said,I have been asking the same question for help for a long time, each time re-phrasing it. No-one has been able to succesfully help me. I still cannot get the reprap software to connect to the Arduino board. This is pathetic.by jajo - General
I tried a normal usb cable, and it did not work. It could not find a serial connection, and never searched for usb.by jajo - General
Is it possible to get a RepRap using electronics 2.0 to use usb communication? Lets say a usb b in the arduino, and a usb a in the computer? Or do I have to use serial port connection? It's just so hard to find a usb b to serial cable!by jajo - General
You are right. Blender is so powerful that no-one would want to switch. And the 1 mm grid marks would explain a lot. The .stl's from reprap.org that I imported were gigantic!by jajo - 3D Design tools

Perfect. This worked, but it turns out that in addition, my computer calls the file a certificate trust list, and a .ctl, so the bat file cannot find any .stl file.by jajo - RepRap Host
How do I replace the instances of # with rem?by jajo - RepRap Host
I have almost gotten the software running. The only problem is that the "# cd" command in ms dos is not recognized by my computer. I did a printscreen of the file running. See the attached file for the printscreen. Now that I think of it, my computer may be using the wrong program to open the file. It is MS DOS, right? Anyways, whatever the problem may be, I am stumped. Please try to helpby jajo - RepRap Host
When I run the reprap program, I get a bunch of stuff in MS DOS. I believe the errors I am getting are because of J3D. Where should the J3D library be located? (In other words, where is it on your computer?)by jajo - RepRap Host
