Both my motors are identical, same brand, model and manufacturer. I plugged them in parallel with the scheme I found on the Mendel 90 manual. When I upload a test code onto my ramps and test the motors, all of them move back and forth, but when I do that with the Z motors, they move awkwardly. I see that both start, but then one stops and only the other moves, making my carroage twist. There isby ivancdp - General
Hey guys, My setup has 2 z motors and on my first test with Pronterface, they dont seem to move synchronized. When I move them up, one of the motors actually spins, while the other turns around itself about one turn and they stops, although I can see its on because forcing it by hand doesnt actually move it. Im using Ramps with pololu drivers. I hooked them up together on one single set of 4by ivancdp - General
Actually now every axis work, what should I do? Do you have a program that lets me control the motors through the dial on the LCD?by ivancdp - General
I did what you said and could only make the motor move when I plugged it into the y motor on the board. Tried switching the drivers to see if they were fried but again, only y axis. I did, however, hook up all of the motors of the printer to this y axis connection on the spare board and they all moved, which is good. Any advices?by ivancdp - General
Guys, one more thing. I'm trying to understand how to play around with stepper motors to see if they work. So I got another Ramps board and connected power to it. Then I got a spare stepper motor and tried to make it move. It only makes high frequency noises, but it doesn't move. So I thought: why don't I connect the printer motors to this board and try to make them move? Every axis does the sby ivancdp - General
Hello guys, I really do hope one of you can help me out. Iv'e built a Mendel 90 from nopheads manual. I sourced all the parts and learned along the way. The mechanical part was pretty easy, the electronics were a bit challenging though. I hooked everything up and turned it on. The port wasnt showing up but I managed to solve that. My printer feels kinda shocky, I don't know how to explain, it'by ivancdp - General
Im running macOS Sierra 10.12.4 Here is what Pronterface looks like (attached). The Arduino IDE shows the exact same ports, which all seem to be bluetooth connections.by ivancdp - General
Hello y'all, I would appreciate a hand with my project. I am new to the reprap community and just finished building my Mendel 90. I searched for my problem, but encountered no solutions. So, I want to test it to see if I made all the right connections. From what I understand, the first step is to load Marlin software onto the Ramps board. Then I think I can control it with the Pronterface softby ivancdp - General
Hey guys, i'm new here. I need some help regarding the X motor assembly of the mendel 90 build. The type of adapter that's in the tutorials is different from the one I have here. I am going to solder each wire to the corresponding pin. In the tutorial, it says the first two wires are unused, so you should connect wire 3 with pin 1. Ok so far. Then it says pin 8 is unused. Ok also My question is,by ivancdp - General Mendel Topics

Guys thank you. My goal was just to have a printer at home to play around sometimes, nothing really big. I was looking also at the Meldel90 and the Prusa i3. They seem good machines with plenty of material available. The printer needs to be of easy assemble and maintenance, since i am starting with this. This coreXY looks nice and easy. Do you have one digital dentist?by ivancdp - General
Hello guys, I'm new to the RepRap world, but not new to additive manufacturing. I'm an engineer and in college I got to work with top-of-the-line machines from 3D Systems, Stratasys and the former Z Corp, involving FDM, SLS and SLA technologies. For a while now I've been wanting to put my own 3D printer together. I decided to take a look at the RepRap, only to find dozens of different models. Onby ivancdp - General
