The sad part is that 9 days is extremely fast for Botmill. My Axis Kit took over a month to get to me with missing parts, then they sent the rest and there was still parts missing. This was back in March, they advertised 10 days back then. The reviews of them are in the wiki.by C. Cecil - General
Try putting an MOV on your AC line to your power supply. That should help with line noise a bit...at least spikes, won't help with brownouts though, you would need a UPS for that.by C. Cecil - General
You are wiring you hotend to the ICSP (In circuit serial programmer) connector...not the heater (heater runs on 12V). The correct spot has "Heater" right next to it and it is next to the extruder connector. The connectors on the bottom are X, Y, Z, Extruder, and then Heater/Thermistor. The link NelsonRap gave has all the info you need.by C. Cecil - General
I had that same perimeter gap both times that my X belt was about to break (old style sells x motor bracket). I am currently using the standard sells carriage but I am going to the open X carriage shortly, it is printed just not installed, waiting for something to need repairs before I tear down the machine.by C. I would check to see if your resistor B is cracked. It looks from your measurements that it is shorted to the hotend at your resistor B lead end. Edit: changed "grounded" to "shorted to the hotend".by C. Cecil - General
In Marlin it looks like I changed a few things: -cut my acceleration in half from 2000 to 1000 -changed my max xy jerk from 30 to 10 -decreased max z jerk 2*60 to .4*60 This is for my Sells Mendel with Gen6. I could run faster most of the time but there are certain moves which cause massive skipping if I try to run faster. I am also printing at default sfact/slic3r speeds, printing in Pronterfby C. Changing the steps delay micro didn't help when I was having issues with skipped steps midprint (when I tried sprinter that is). On my machine I had to lower the firmware acceleration (Marlin/Gen6). My main issue I was having was that on small repeated moves the machine would try to shake itself apart and eventually skip steps...lowering the max acceleration helped smooth things out a lot, it wby C. You might have the acceleration too high in the firmware. That will cause buzzing in the steppers. What electronics version came with that kit? I know on the Gen6 there is a way to measure a testpoint's voltage and you can figure the motor current from that...I had to set mine just a hair higher than the recommended but if I go too much the motors stall/overheat. I am located in Coeur d'Aleneby C. Cecil - Idaho RUG
I ordered some for the X+Y...couldn't find any for the Z that would fit without mods (or changing the gear ratio too much). I will let you know how this works.by C. Cecil - General
I have a working Sells Mendel and I am located in Coeur d'Alene, ID. There are groups in Boise, ID and Seattle, WA but there is a clear gap up here. I am also a retailer for Reprap parts (www.Robosprout.com). Anyone with printers in the area feel free to join. I plan on working closely with other groups in the region to expand the project and educate on 3d printing/modeling.by C. Cecil - Request a Local RepRap User Group
When you redo your wiring do 2 twisted pairs to each motor (one per coil)...should help a bit with noise.by C. Cecil - Idaho RUG
I have a machine going in Coeur d'Alene. Also, I have parts for the Sells Mendel. Many of the same parts are used on the Prusa also. If you are interested in parts or a demo feel free to email/PM me. I gave a demo to Tothe the other day. Also...my site checkout and website info should be working now.by C. Cecil - Idaho RUG
Electrical noise on the thermistor wires can cause oscillations also. Correct?by C. Cecil - General
I had this same issue with my Mendel/Gen6/5D. I was unable to solve it with any tuning in skeinforge. Then I noticed, as others have pointed out, that when there was blobs there was error messages. I upgraded to Marlin/Sfact/Pronterface and the problem went away. I have had other issues such as random resets during prints but I suspect those issues were related to bad STL's since once I repaiby C. Cecil - General Mendel Topics
I added my recent failure to the group. Let's keep this going. It will save a lot of time for people in the long run I think.by C. Cecil - General
Plus with flickr you have the ability to join groups...real easy to make specific groups for the 3d printing scene as a whole or individual machine type.by C. Cecil - General
I just started my flickr page mainly to show people on IRC the problems I was having in order to fix them. I try to list the problem and how I fixed it in the descriptions. You have a good idea, I will continue to list the fixes in all my failed print descriptions and I hope others will make comments on the pics with other advice on tuning.by C. Cecil - General

I have 100 Wantai .9deg steppers on my site. They are new and they get cheaper the more you buy. I am new to the community (and my site is unfinished but functional) but I have sold on ebay for years. I accept Paypal and Google checkout currently.by C. Cecil - General
I had a lot of problems with basic skeinforge with my Gen6. I switched to SFACT, Marlin firmware and Pronterface (I was using Skeinforge, 5D firmware and Repsnapper) and my print quality improved greatly. I have not tested this on a RAMPS board...yet.by C. Cecil - General
I ordered my Axis from them back in February. I got it about a month and a half later. Some parts were not there...too many of others. Poor instructions (at the time), no bill of materials. They had on the site that it would be a 2 week turnaround before shipping...a month later after a few emails back and forth (which they replied with excuses) they said they would be shipping my printer. I have volume discounts listed on my site. The steppers are all the .9 deg/step motors also. I am currently in the process of assembling a couple completed printers. The only parts I am missing for complete kits are belts, hotends, endstops and RAMPS PCB (I am in process of etching my own using my RepRap to sharpie etch them). I am a one man show up here but I started this business as my priby C. Cecil - Idaho RUG
RoboSprout has many Mendel parts on hand (right now I am short hotends, belts and endstops for complete kits). My site is very rough at this point and more will be added as I get going, I currently accept Paypal and Google checkout. I never list items I do not have on hand. I have motors, Anodized heated beds, RAMPS components (minus the boards at the moment), Bearing kits etc. ABS parts andby C. Cecil - For Sale
I am in Coeur d'Alene and I have a fully functioning Mendel. I am also selling parts (kits once complete, 90% of the parts on hand for 8-10 kits) and I have no problem helping anyone who needs help getting their machine up and running.by C. Cecil - Idaho RUG
