I haven't read the entire thread, but have you tried carboard from a cerial box or the like? Its not corrogated, its flat, and more rigged then the paper tried... (cut the box open and use the inside, unprinted side)by Mogal - General
I've recently placed an order. Shipped out VERY quick, but I have not recieved yet(only been a couple of days - Canada) I purchased enough to qualify for free shipping ) The extruder is still back ordered, so I'll be waiting awhile for that.(as expected) I had the best price/performance for the 5kg.com steppers that I could find.by Mogal - General
K, I'm a little conserned now, as I have an 8x8 mat on the way... I was under the impression that I could plug it into the RAMPS 1.4 without issue? I guess I should not do this? I'm not sure how to wire it then?by Mogal - General
Hi, I am building my own unit as well, I'll be piecing it together too. Good place to start is the Reprap Wiki 1. Yes, you can buy all the part yourslef (wiki/here/ebay) - So far I have $500 into the build, with about $100 to go. 2. First and formost, you need to figure out what varient you want to build, and how easy it would be to modify it to the dimensions you want. - Get into the Wiki, andby Mogal - General
LOL!! Its a puzzle! Sepperate it all, and glue it back together ;o) What happened?!by Mogal - Look what I made!
I use both Sketchup and VIACAD 2D/3D I was able to get ViaCad 2D/3D for $50 after coupons/discounts. but even at $99 I think its a good deal. There are running errors with ViaCAD, but has still worked well for me. If you understand nurbs and things, you could probly avoid the errors I get )by Mogal - General

Ok, thanks guys! I will stick with the belt drives. what threaded rod are you using for the Z axs? (I presume no backlash nut is required?) As for the steppers, I'm having a hard time finding appropriate steppers. Could you point me in the right direction pls? These are what I was looking at: 5pcs NEMA17 78 oz-in CNC stepper motor/1.8A Thanks again! Chrisby Mogal - General Mendel Topics
Hello all! First post in the 3D realm. I've been thinking of 3D printers for awhile now, and made it out to the Victoria Maker faire. I ended up meeting with Dan and John there (Hi Guys!) So now that I've seen the printers up close and personal, I HAVE to have one. I'm going to be building one based on the Mendel90 machine and I would like some input on parts that would be better for this buildby Mogal - General Mendel Topics
