I just installed Cura to try on my Mendel90. I can not find the settings.py file? I've been through the entire directory! Windows 7 64bit. Help?! lol QuoteYou must locate the settings file , which in my case (Mac Os X version) is: Cura.app/Contents/Resources/Cura/slice/cura_sf/fabmetheus_utilities/settings.pyby Mogal - Mendel90
Got some pics of this in action? Been thinking of doing something similar...by Mogal - Mendel90
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how it works... As one feeds, the other retracts... Got a video of this in operation?by Mogal - Developers
Is there a way to show the ETA of a print BEFORE you start the print? (would help with time management)by Mogal - Repetier

Here are my (Slic3r) retract settings: Length: 1 Lift Z: 0 Speed: 30 mm/s Extra length on restart: 0 Min travel after retract: 2 Retract on layer change: checked Wipe before retract: unchecked Not 100% on this, but temps maybe playing a roll with having 'nubbins' in your prints. Willing to upload the STL file?by Mogal - General
I'd say its a conversion error somewhere... Model the item in mm, and try again... And yes, try the newest Slic3r.by Mogal - General
I'm using 3/16-20 acme lead screws. Sorry Chris i really don't know, I'm just going by what the calculator says. When I punch in the numbers for the 3/16-20 and 0.3 layer height... the calc tells me there is the error there... punch in 0.2921 and there is zero error...? Thanx for the extra information... I'll keep playing and tweaking. Cheers, Chrisby Mogal - Mendel90
Saw this earlier and was going to post about it Looks like it will have some good potential.by Mogal - Experimental
Okay, I figured out the macro setting on my camera... So I thought I would show the details of the prints. If you look at IMG_1875, you can see what I believe to be an air bubble from the plastic? I also found the new version of josefprusa calculator v3. With that, I discovered I had a layer hieght error. Turns out 0.2921mm hieght will give me no hieght errors. Whereas the 0.3mm that I was usinby Mogal - Mendel90
These were printed with PLA. Removed from the printer as pictured (No modifications) Cheers! Chrisby Mogal - Mendel90
Hi Hophead, could you post your SF settings? I guess I really need to break down and start using it... Thanks. Chrisby Mogal - Slic3r
From Nophead himself, he oversize his prints due to shrinkage of the plastic... He over-sizes the STLs by 1.0057. That's why I would like to re-size things... I tried to resize the STL myself(ViaCAD) but when I try to re-slice the file, I get holes in it... I throw it through netfabb, but it does not fix the holes. So I'm left with the original question. Is there a way to re-size a file throughby Mogal - Slic3r
LOL as trivial as it seems, yea!! I'm printing a Mendel90, and need to oversize it a little... So is there a way to get a decimal place in there somehow when scaling? or is it only full percentage points?by Mogal - Slic3r
I'd like to start a little database of everyone's settings. Something to help each other get their settings bang on. I know there are variables that we can not control, but this should help us all in getting our settings dialed in. (Based on Nophead's Mendel90 only) ----- Material used: PLA Nozzle temp: 200c (this is high, but I have poor quality plastic) Bed temp: 45c Nozzle: 0.5mm Here is mby Mogal - Mendel90
LOL yea, these can be pretty long prints... I printed both together, and it was 10 hours!! (I was also going slow on a second round as I lost steps into it at the 4 hour mark! Doh!) Ecstatic with the results!by Mogal - Mendel90
UPDATE: When I slice with slic3r through Repetier host, I get the errors (holes in the model) but if I load up slic3r by itself and slice, the object slices fine?! The problem I'm having with that, is I need to scale up the object about 0.01% but I can not add the decimal place in the slic3r scaling... Is there a way to get around this? thanks!by Mogal - Slic3r
K, I Sliced the wades block with the older ver 0.9.9. It still told me there was a hole in it, but it looks like it sliced properly... Code seems OK, I'm going to try a print...by Mogal - Slic3r
Oh geez, sorry... I'm using the newest slicer 09.10b Running it with Repetier host. I've tried slicing it with 0.2, 0.25, 0.3 and 0.4mm heights with both automatic extrusion widths and manual widths... Right in slicer, its telling me there are holes in the objects? (there errors are listed in the pics) Could this be a slicer issue? I'll try the older version... Thanks!by Mogal - Slic3r
Here yea go, I had to zip them. Thanks!by Mogal - Slic3r
I have tried everything I can think of, but just can not get anything of these Mendel90 parts to slice properly. They have holes in them. I downloaded netfabb and applied repairs, but even the repaired files wont slice. Please see pics for details. There is the occasional file that wont slice properly, but for the most part, everything else slices ok. I need some help on this, cuz I'm completeby Mogal - Slic3r
hello bobc I'm still fighting with this one! As per your drawing: (I'm using a Mendel90) My Y axis in on the front of the machine, and my X axis is on the right, my Z axis is on the top. My Y axis is correct in direction, My Z axis is correct in direction, My X axis is reversed. Error generated: QuoteI could not find the generated G-Code file. Possible reasons: - the slicer had a error and didn't finish slicing. - the slicer stored the file with an unexpected filename. Expected filename and location C:\users\mogal\appdata\local\repetierhost\composition.gcode This is the error I get whenever I set the infill to 1.0 if I set the infill to 0.99 it slices with no problemby Mogal - Slic3r
