I would use replicator-g but I can't figure out how to make it work with the arduino. Do you know?by drummerboyx - General
Hello everybody! I just received my makerbot plastruder. The problem is that when I press extrude on the host software the motor doesn't move and it makes a high pitched sound. But when I press the reset button on the Arduino, it spins fine. Someone Help! Thanks, drummerboyxby drummerboyx - General
Sure, I'll start editing it. When I was building my RepStrap machine it was a little difficult to find all the information necessary for building it. It was mostly all scattered everywhere. I found most of it by searching it on google. But, if all that info were to be on one area (like the mendel is), that would be great. Does anyone know when the MakerBot plastruder is going to go back in stock? I've been waiting for months now. If not, is there any other similar product out there? Thanks, Drummerboyxby drummerboyx - General
Has there been anymore work on the subject? I want to try to build an extruder with a hot glue gun. Here are a couple questions that I have about it: 1. Does it even get hot enough to melt ABS or PLA?? 2. Can it be controlled by an arduino? (Relays??) I think that this should be looked at as a viable solution for a cheap extruder. Thanks, Drummerboyxby drummerboyx - General
I wanted to speed up the build time for an object. Also, has there been any work done on the glue-gun extruder?by drummerboyx - RepRap Host
I meant the RepRap host software. Thanks, Drummerboyxby drummerboyx - RepRap Host
Is it possible to change the fill % in the host software? If not, how can I make an STL 40mm cube into a 25% fill? Thanks, Drummerboyxby drummerboyx - RepRap Host
I agree...I think if all the information would all be in one place and not scattered all around the RepRap website I would totally buy that book!by drummerboyx - Administration, Announcements, Policy
How can I change the fill in the RepRap host software?by drummerboyx - General
I'm confused...what do you mean by a 100% fill and a 25% fill? So if I did go with a 25% fill would the build take only 6 hours? Also, what is a filament? Sorry I'm asking all these questions but I could never figure out what they meant. Thanks, Elijahby drummerboyx - General
Thanks! I'm going to try it out later today but I'm sure that's what my problem is. Also, how long would it ussually take to build somthing like this on my machine? Thanks, Drummerboyxby drummerboyx - General
I have a RepStrap with gen 2 electronics running the RepRap host software. I'm trying to print out a 40mm cube as a test for my machine. For some odd reason my axis are going way too far off my machine. It seems like the cube won't fit on my build area. But, my build area is bigger than the 40x40x40mm cube. I tried moving the cube around the build area in the software but it still goes too far. Aby drummerboyx - General
I just started work on my V2 RepStrap. Check out my website for some pics and a quick video. I have a feeling that this one will out perform my V1. Here is the link: MyRepRap Thanks, Drummerboyxby drummerboyx - Reprappers
What temperature would you suggest if I were to make a print with ABS.by drummerboyx - General
This is sort of a stupid question, but; at what temperature does ABS plastic melt, PLA, ect.? Thanks, Drummerboyxby drummerboyx - General
How would I change it in the the host software? Is there a box in the preferences window?by drummerboyx - RepRap Host
I actually just took some high strength Gorilla epoxy and glued it on. I made the back of it a flat surface to make it easier to do this. This method is probably not the best way to do it but it works fine and I've had no problems with it so far. Another way is to find small nuts and bolts and bolt it to the Z axis. Do have any more questions or comments about the site? I'm always looking forby drummerboyx - Reprappers
Just added some more "How To's"! CHECK IT OUT!by drummerboyx - Reprappers
Hello, I have a DC motor extruder with Arudino Gen 2 electronics. My extruder is extruding a little too fast and I can't figure out how to slow it down. Can I do this in the host software or do I have to do it manually in the Arduino code itself. Thanks, Drummerboyxby drummerboyx - RepRap Host
Very interesting! Thanks Luis! Does it work good?by drummerboyx - RepRap Host
If you can that would be great.by drummerboyx - RepRap Host
Can you post some pics of your extruder?by drummerboyx - RepRap Host
If you go to my website and go to expenses you can see what the total price was. To tell you the truth I never actually thought of doing it that way, so I'm really not sure what the price difference is. Thanks, Drummerboyxby drummerboyx - General
Well, the main reason I did that instead of going with a kit is because it actually costs less. Also, I enjoy trying to figure things out rather than just "reading directions". Thanks, Drummerboyxby drummerboyx - General
Hey shobley, I'm trying to do the same thing. I already built a pretty cheap "junk" RepStrap, and I plan to use it to build a "real" RepRap (I think mendel). I've created a website that documents my RepStrap build, with some how to's included. The link is: MyRepRap.com It's not fully done yet, but here is what I have so far. I'm hoping to add some more how to's and hopfully (if I get the fundingby drummerboyx - General
