If the nozzle is moving rather than the extruder motor then check that the motor wires are connected correctly to the controller board.by spinor - General
Yes, steps/mm and every other setting are the same as they were under the 1.21 firmware, which is working OK. Are you successfully running RRF 2.02 on RADDS?by spinor - Controllers
Thanks for the suggestion, but I doubt it's that. It's been working fine under version 1.21 with the same config files (at a relatively modest 3000mm/min), and is OK again now that I've reverted back. But when I have another go at 2.02 I'll try lowering the homing speed to see if that helps.by spinor - Controllers
I just installed RepRapFirmware 2.02 on my delta. I tried homing the carriages but, after reaching the endstops, the motors made a horrible vibrating noise, like a pneumatic drill and I had to cut the power. I confirmed that all the endstops were working OK with M119. I've gone back to version 1.21 and it's homing normally again. Anyone else tried 2.02?by spinor - Controllers
QuoteDust Are they made of gallium? I bet the quality is very low. It doesn't say what their made from on the packaging. Quality seems OK, but I haven't really made use of them yet.by spinor - General

Another option: if you still have some recent gcode files, you should be able to extract the settings they used by doing File->Load Config. This certainly works in Slic3rPE, I'm not sure about the standard edition.by spinor - Slic3r
Alternatively you can print your own shims. That's what I did to customise the thickness for each pair of arms.by spinor - Delta Machines
Thanks for explaining that. Sounds like a great idea that I wasn't previously aware of.by spinor - Delta Machines

I've added Nebbian's A-struder to my mini Kossel and it's a great improvement, but I'm having trouble with the Bowden tube causing effector tilt. If I do a 6-factor calibration (using RRF) with the tube disconnected I get a deviation of around 0.03mm (without using H parameter). If I repeat this with the tube connected it increases to 0.06-0.07mm. I've tried various lengths of tube, from 9cm to 1by spinor - Delta Machines
My MKS mini failed after the first print. No idea why (maybe the heated bed). Replaced it with RADDS + RepRapFirmware - been using it about a year and still very happy (though next time might go for a Duet).by spinor - Delta Machines
Just to report that 1.18beta2 is working great for me. The new PID autotune seems to have fixed the temperature instability problems I experienced with the previous autotune. Thanks to dc42 for the ongoing RADDS builds. Every RADDS user kept within the RRF ecosystem is, I believe, a potential future Duet user.by spinor - Controllers
I have snapped many microSD cards in RADDS's poor quality slot (not helped by my fiddling blind under delta) so have now plugged in one of those cheap extender ribbon cables. I designed a simple holder to attach it to the frame:by spinor - Controllers

My PSU is only around 200W, barely enough but it seems to work OK. Perhaps yours isn't supplying as much as it should. It may help to insulate your bed. I placed some cork underneath. Keeps the electronics cooler too.by spinor - Delta Machines

Thanks again. I tried varying D in M307 during the print without much luck. I then issued my old M301 command and the oscillations stabilised to what I'm used to seeing (+/- 1C). So for now I will override the autotune settings with the old PID parameters. Will try again once I get a 30W heater. Interestingly, the problem only started a few minutes into the print when the effector went throughby spinor - Controllers
Thanks. I just finished a print and noticed that, despite being in a nice steady state before the print (+/- 0.1C), during the print the temperature started fluctuating +/-5C around the 205C set point. I dropped this to 200C and the fluctuations dropped to around +/-2C. I attach a shot of the Octoprint graph. Many thanks to dc42 for this RADDS build! I have installed 1.17b and run autotune on my e3d v5 clone (a 40W heater I think). M303 H1 P0.5 S240 exceeded 240C and aborted. I think the problem could be effector tilt caused by the rods pairs being not parallel enough. That was a problem on my FLSUN printer. The distance between the rod mount points on the effector is less than those on the carriages. To solve this I measured the difference with calipers and printed some shims of the correct thickness (different for each part of the effector) - see attached Openscadby spinor - Delta Machines
Thanks guys. Reason I wanted the STLs was that I was having trouble with the supplied injection-moulded limit-switch blocks because the holes are much larger that the M2.5 bolts used to secure the microswitches. I tried wrapping the screw threads in PTFE tape, using Blu-Tak etc, but couldn't get them tight enough. There was still some tiny movement whenever the printer homed - not good. Have you tried LVD's version of Marlin earlier in this thread? There's a good instruction PDF. Not sure about the erratic behaviour you're having. Once the firmware is set up, you should spend time calibrating the filament. Most recommend careful measurement of the diameter, but here's an alternative method that I found effective:by spinor - Delta Machines
