Thanks vreihen, I was trying for 2 days now to get autolevel to compile correctly. This should be disabled by default for the delta examples.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Hi, I recently discovered that HIPS can be smoothed with acetone as well, so I was wondering if there is a flexible filament that can be smoothed as well? Cheersby sungod3k - General
Thanks for the extensive answer, thats exactly how I did it exept the raduis the machine though it was using was 4.5 times smaller. But I just figured out that the marlin mainbranch has correct scaling contrary to rich cattels marlin. I had a weird error with dimensions before, so Im not sure if I messed up a setting. Im calibration the normal marlin version now. That should work.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Hi, Im finally seeing a bit of light with my non standard delta. Due to some miscalculation I have 400mm arms for a base triangle of 630mm and a radius of 382mm. I managed to manually calibrate it to a rather small print size of 150mm diameter. Endstops and radius are calibrated up to one paper thickness. The one thing that prevents me from printing is actually that when I command 10mm in any Xby sungod3k - Delta Machines
the ramps 1.4.2 for 200€ from german reprap might have it and the equally prices ultimaker board from their shop could also be a candidateby sungod3k - General
yes tried that, but was also not successful, however I figured out i had accidentally used a metal nut on a plastic screw that was holding my ramps in its mount, so that shorted out some pins and had the driver run very hot. as far as I can see I didnt damage anything permanently, but it seems to work now.by sungod3k - General
Hi, Im trying to get my new Delta under control and I so far that I can perform the G30 A command with Rich Cattells Marlin. However I have now run it 2 times and both times it took the max number of allowed iterations, so I wanted to use the last values to hard code them into marlin that the next time I start the procedure I don't loose this progress. Some variable like delta radius I can wriby sungod3k - Firmware - mainstream and related support
There is an 5$ IR probe from pibot, I havent gotten the autolevel procedure under control but the probe seems to work.by sungod3k - Reprappers
AFAIK the ramps fd isnt ready. Geeetech sells one but look at the comments on the page and what google says. Its in beta and geetech also made some component choices that were called into question. I guess it will take half a year more for that to be out. In the meantime I was looking at the "DUET" that at least not as expensive an Azteeg or smoothieboard.by sungod3k - General
I will take some time to square up the frame. Im trying to find a precision level that makes its under 100 iterations @andrew: Great, I cant contribute by programming but let me know when your finished Im happy to beta test it.by sungod3k - General
What were the main issues you fixed manually? Im at iteration 57 @0.5 precision and while most of the values stay the same, I cant tell if hes going in the right direction. Admittedly I haven't spend much time squaring the frame and my cross braces aren't installed as well, would it be enough to calibrate a 1mm precision to at least start printing?by sungod3k - General
Hi, I just configured the IR sensor for autobed leveling but RichCattels Marlin branch is caused some odd and random behaviours. I thought about configuring the mainbranch for the probe but I cant get it to compile properly because it expects pin definitions for the retractable arm/ servo. I tried to comment these sections out but in only results in more error. Has anyone ever seen a tutorial oby sungod3k - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hi, I was just setting up this new IR sensor probe for autoleveling and all worked beautiful, so went ahead, changed filament and wanted to test extrude which had worked the day before as well. But now if I give the command to extrude my XYZ motors very slowly start moving. I checked the wiring and the firmware and even plugged in a spare motor in the extruder slot, but its doesnt move as well,by sungod3k - General
Ah interesting. Do you have an estimation of how much air it uses? an aquarium air pump or something like this should sufficeby sungod3k - General
Rigth, and the model? how is PLA model cooling behaving?by sungod3k - General
From what I learned about seeing my machine in action Im designing a bigger bracket, that will have a double row of vslots like on the bottom. Also I think we need to increase the contact surface from the vslot to the bracket. I think adding screw holes on all sides would get more of the wiggle out of the construction. The same btw also goes for the bottom bracket Since we have more space aroundby sungod3k - Delta Machines
I like the idea and even calming down the airflow would be positive, however my main concern would be hotend cooling. Which would require a either a big hose getting outside air onto the hotend and model cooling fans or a pressurized fan that sits outside and blows in air though a smaller tube. I have been thinking about pressurized fan already independent of the enclosure. It would make aimingby sungod3k - General
Im biased as a delta owner but I want to see flying extruder on Prusas.by sungod3k - General
Ha! seems that RCs marlin was the problem. Im now using the main branch and Im getting normal horizontal movement.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Ok Ill try some other marlin versions as well. I was waiting for the ramps FD and then make the jump to 32bit, but the recent development for the Duet sounds very promising.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Motors run and sound normal at 80steps/mm derived from prusa calc. Pure Z movements are also the right lengths and speed is normal. What firmware are you running? Should I give repetier a try to replicate results?by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Hi, Im trying to fine tune my scaled up CherryPi III build and Im not getting the convex movement out of my horizontal plane. I have gone through at least 3 separate calibration guides but the error is way to big for some reason My frame is 1000mm high, the base triangle is 664mm (500 Vslot + 2x82mm corner brackets) however my arms are only 400mm. Im not sure the arms are causing the problems.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Hi, I'm just finishing my first delta frame. Its relatively big the base triangle has 58cm side and its 100cm high. I'm waiting now for a proximity sensor, but I would like to have the frame calibrated as good as possible beforehand. The endstop height I already calibrated well and I have adjustable cross braces in there to control the parallelogram, but getting the towers parallel is harder eby sungod3k - Delta Machines
That sounds amazing. Im just finishing my new delta and it would save a lot of work. Is there any indication that someone is trying to integrate the same functionality into the normal RAMPS marlin version?by sungod3k - Delta Machines
you can use the factor directly in slicer and then check if the overall dimensions fit.by sungod3k - General
Hi, I just turned on my new delta for the first time and it works. Im using Rich Cattels Marlin the endstops trigger correctly, the motors move in the right direction, have good speed and enough juice from the drivers. However when I home Z they move up, trigger the endstop but dont stop moving for another second which results in the motor stalling. When I reconnect and the carriages are stilby sungod3k - Delta Machines

I dont mean the spooler alone. The laser guide and puller as well. The Filastruder winder doesnt measure the diamter of the extrusion and only adjust the speed of the spooling. So that assumes the diameter is constant, which took a long time to achieve and Im still not perfectly there. The laser guide from the lyman measures the diameter directly as far as I understand the set up and feeds itby sungod3k - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Hi, I just checked out the Lyman V5 and noticed the spooling mechanism. Im using the Filastruder together with a filawinder but on a technical level the Lyman winder seems smarter. So how is that thing holding up in practice? anyone build that and can share some experiences? Cheersby sungod3k - Plastic Extruder Working Group
