You probably mean acetone not acid and you dont need it with the heated bed, all other stuff can be found in this forum by search and on google. there are lot of beginner guides most likely on you printers homepage.by sungod3k - General
Ah das sind doch schon mal ein paar gute optionen, danke.by sungod3k - Allgemeines
Hi, simple question where do you buy connectors for your RAMPS and controller boards? Im having a super hard time finding more than the standard 3 pin servo connectors from these expensive RC shops/pololu distrubutors. But no coherent source offering 2,3 and 4 pin connector in a set or in the same store. Any reputable (china) source anyone? Cheers PS. is there a flat molex connector? I have 10by sungod3k - General
Cheersby sungod3k - Allgemeines
Never heard of the AZSMZ Mini but looks interesting and priced right for its capabilities. I doubt that I will need more than 1.5A maybe for the extruder but it makes sense to only put newer drivers on newer boards. Its interesting though that there isnt a middle segment for controllery beyond 20mhz. Edit: I just came across the Due +Ramps FD topic so I guess that solves most problems.by sungod3k - Controllers
Hi, I've been seeing more and more reports about a new generation of drivers (eg.Watterott Silent step stick and also real allegros) and as someone who has been buying china quality I'm wondering if it would be a waste to use high quality drivers on my cheap Ramps. Especially now that Im building a delta and will need a bit more processing power buying higher quality driver instead of an expenby sungod3k - Controllers
Hi, I've been using E3Ds Vulcano nozzles for the last few weeks and I was just printing with the 1.2mm nozzle but forgot to reduce the speed. I was putting out 1mm layerheight, 2mm width at 50mms and my bowden tube was wiggling back and forth, when I looked at my extruder (39:11 geared aitripper) it too was wiggling and the big cogwheel as well. I know that the main cogwheel doesnt have the straby sungod3k - General
Yes I also heard about the 20 degrees rule as well. I guess after taking all observations from this thread into account the the arms should at least be as long as the sides and be so long that the with a maximum of 20deg angle you can make use of the biggest circle inside your towers as possible.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
QuoteI disagree - it's entirely possible, unless the arms are too short. Bear in mind that the diagram is a 2D projection of a 3D structure. youre right, its doesnt have to be, but if you take the rule of thumb that the arms are 3/4 of the triangle side, then the distace from one tower to the opposite triangle side is roughly the arm length. as here in my case. I have 50 cm triangle side and 40cby sungod3k - Delta Machines
Quotethe carriage they are connected to should be is well above the effector, so the actual angle of the arms relative to the carriage and effector is less than 30 degrees I dont think the vertical position changes the relative angle of the horizontal movement. Its limited to the same angle horizontally not matter where it is vertically. In your foto is that the maximum position your arms can rby sungod3k - Delta Machines
This should clearify. With the traxxas joints I only reach the frame the dark green bed with the blue arms. But I had originally intended to use the light green bed with the red arms.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Yeah but im not cutting of the traxxas joints I think I have to build a joint like on the original rostock.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Im using parts of the cherry pi already, so I had this on my list but with this being my first delta I decided for the easier complete kit of arms, all glued and ready. This makes of course a good case for magnets for my next upgrade but for now im stuck with traxxas.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Hi, I just received my delta arms from tridprinting.com with traxxas joints and I see that the sideways motion of the joint is only about 30 degrees which is only enough to reach the the outer limits of the frame but isn't able to go further. This limits my print surface from 50cm diamter to 30. Is there an effector that adds another degree of freedom the joints or am I limited until I buy magneby sungod3k - Delta Machines
Hi, as I'm modifying the existing delta designs to fit my needs I now reached the end effector and I was wondering if it is essential for the geometry calculations that the arms are parallel? I get that they should make a triangle to keep the platform nice and level, but would a trapezoid instead of a rectangle screw up the movement calculation?by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Sure you can, whether in one go or not is a different question. BUT since everyone is doing that and ebay and the likes are flooded with these sets its hardly making financial sense.by sungod3k - Reprappers
Hairspray + cold = 40C heated bed. For smaller parts I print cold with 1-2 sprays of strong hairspray. for bigger parts I warm up 50C I would really like to see report on the print pads reusability and sandblasted glassby sungod3k - General
Yes on off only. I dont want to have to walk across the room all the time and disconnect the printer physically just because the extruder fan is so loud.by sungod3k - Reprappers
Yes Im using the pins behind the "package" for the extruder fan but to my knowlegde you can control this one with gcode. Only the D9 model cooling fan can driectly be controlled to my knowlegde. I found this here . this reuqires a relay but is exactly the functionality I need.by sungod3k - Reprappers
is there any way to control the hotend cooling fan? i just need on/off because its annoying to have the printer run so noisy after it stops printing. i imagine a relay controlled by some of the aux pins, but before I do that is there maybe a simpler solution?by sungod3k - General
D9 is the model cooling fan and its controlled by the m106 commands. I could of course trigger an external relay with a custom command via some of the aux pins but that seems work intensive but I wonder if Ramps has some controllable 12V pins natively.by sungod3k - Reprappers
Hi, I have a 2 wire always on hotend cooling fan. Its connected to the broken out 12V pins on my Ramps near the blade fuses. Now I would like to control this fan via one of the broken out pins on the ramps which would be easy if I had a 3 wire fan where I connect the signal wire to an analog pin, but how to a manage the same for the 2 wire fan. I would need to build a switch with two pins somewhby sungod3k - Reprappers
Can you talk about you experiences with these mods?by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Ah I see, but then the 2nd part on my last sentence still holds and I can add more contact surface between brackets and extrusion and expect a gain in stability.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
I think you sooner build a new machine than see you belts wear out.by sungod3k - Reprappers
Have to agree with mindrealm, everything seems to move to thats the first hurdle taken, the rest is google or already in the forumby sungod3k - Reprappers
The infeed diameter of the nozzle and heatbreak should tell you the size. I dont know how deep the ptfe liner feeds into the nozzle but you should be able to get the correct size by subtracting the diameter of you ptfe liner from the diamter.by sungod3k - General
I received my 1m 2020 Vslot and tried carefully to twist it and is doesnt move one bit, which leads my to assume that the reinforcements can actually help make the connection between extrusion and bracket stronger.by sungod3k - Delta Machines
Normal glass + a bit of hairpray is fine. Aluminium warps to much. Everything is is expensive and or to heavy imho. I will try one of these new printing pads soon though. I also sanded my glass and givin the chance would try a sandblasted surface. but that costs 15€ in my city so I rather buy a pad.by sungod3k - Printing
