Quoteraffybuffy Yes I got the following error: An AJAX error was reported, so the current session has been terminated. Please check if your printer is still on and try to connect again. QuotePointy Quotemoameen Hi guys, so has anyone used the Drylin guides for their printer and can comment on wear etc? I have been using them on my Ormerod and they are working well. I have only printed a couple of kilos of PLA though, since I fitted them last year. I have the same bed setup as shown in this photo in this thread. I also have the AWMP-12 aluminium shaft and RJUM-01-12 bearing onby moameen - Mechanics

Hi guys, I thought I might share these cool machines for those who haven't seen them already. Pick and place machine and Circuit board printer. With these and a 3D printer I see somebody coming up with printable phones soon and all sorts of other cool stuff especially in the hands of circuit board and software gurus on the forum!. Now if only someone can come up with a cheap metal printer!by moameen - Ormerod
Hello, here is a link to a previous thread on the list of crimps used on Ormerodby moameen - Ormerod
Hello, I have had my filament break in the extruder and did exactly what you tried and it worked. All I did was set the extrusion length to the longest on the the web interface at medium speed with the hot end on and pushed the filament real hard and the hobbed bolt gripped it.by moameen - Ormerod
Hello kizashi, I understand your frustration.... with regards to the alternative firmwares available, they can be loaded exactly the same way the official firmware is loaded, just by changing the name of the firmware version on your bossac command. However you should read the release notes before using any of the alternative firmwares just to make sure everything is in order before you turn yourby moameen - Ormerod
Quotedmould I'm not sure about the advice to update to the latest Slic3r. In my experience each version has a different set of bugs, and when I was using Slic3r I had to choose a version that suited a particular print - one version if it had bridges, a different version if it had a large top layer area, yet another for prints where Slic3r decided to omit infilling in some of the walls etc. It sby moameen - Ormerod
Hi Mike43110, dc's sensor board is a really great improvement over the standard one especially with the additional features, I'm also from South Africa and ordered one before the post office strike, my board got damaged on the way probably here in SA. If you do decide to get one, definitely get it sent via courier. You won't be disappointed! On a side note, I'm still waiting for an internationalby moameen - Ormerod
Quotedc42 2. Is there anyone reading this who has a subscription that allows them to download this article free of charge: Hi, I don't have access to that particular site but I do have access to quite a few journals on ieeexplore and sciencedirect, if perhaps you find something on those sites.by moameen - Ormerod
Hi, I'm not sure which is the exact replacement but here is a link to some of the adapters at RS. micro sd adapter. (I'm also from SA )by moameen - Ormerod
So I setup my RPi yesterday and managed to control my printer via the chromium browser. Working ok, just a bit slow to load the interface.by moameen - Ormerod
You should check the data sheet of the resin system used to determine the glass transition temperature. Here's a link of what I am talking about, if you haven't done so already that is. glass transition temperatureby moameen - Ormerod
@zeb00, awesome bed! Did you make the composite plate yourself or bought a panel and cut it to size/had it cut?by moameen - Ormerod
So I came across this interesting link on printing around captive parts. Has anybody attempted this before?by moameen - Ormerod
I ordered myself a RPi from RS today as I have a spare laptop size HD monitor that's just been lying around. A wireless Ethernet bridge and wireless adapter for the RPi might just be what I need to tidy things up a bit also. I'll just have to wait and see if the web interface works on the RPi.by moameen - Ormerod
Hi guys, so lately I've been thinking of a way to make my printer work independently from my laptop. I have been following dc's thread on an LCD and that made me think of something a little different, not cheaper though. This is the idea I came up with, don't really know how all the technical bits and interfacing would work out if at all. Firstly the printer would need Wi-Fi capabilities. A beaglby moameen - Ormerod
Hi guys. I am currently stocking up on some spare parts for my printer. However I cannot seem to find any suppliers of the standard MXL belt used on the ormerod here in South Africa. The GT2 and T2.5 belt and pulley are available locally. The pitch of both belts differ from the MXL and pulley diameter. Before I go ahead and purchase a length, how would I change the specs on the printer? Is thereby moameen - Ormerod
Quotebitfield Now, when the final layers of the whistle was printing I accessed the web interface from another client (my phone). First the page loaded fine and then it all froze and when I went to the printer to see what happened it was at a complete stop and inaccessible. Had to cut the power. It's not like it happens seldom but very often so I can't be the only one experience this, right? Helby moameen - Ormerod

From the prints I have done that needed supports, I would say there should be no gaps and the supports should be spaced so that you won't get any sagging of the prints between the supports.by moameen - Ormerod
A system that uses a cam shaft to lower the appropriate nozzle similar to how the valves on a four stroke engine are lowered might also work. Although cam shaft machining might be costly.by moameen - Ormerod
Hi, what firmware version are you using? If you upgraded to 0.78, you got to change the sensor pin. I upgraded and forgot to change the pin and had the same problem like you.by moameen - Ormerod
Hi guys, there is this strange low pitch noise coming from my x and y axis motors. When I move them using the controls the pitch changes but does not go away. They seem to be working fine though and my duet board also doesn't seem to be over heating or anything. Is this normal or should I be worried?by moameen - Ormerod
Hi guys, I just came across these auto lift hot ends. Something like this might solve the two nozzle interference problem. Nozzle lift 1, Nozzle lift 2. The kickstarter guys that developed the autolift precision 3d printer hot ends also got a cool single motor extruder design that can switch between two colours. check the video of their whole assembly on their kickstarter page.by moameen - Ormerod
Quotedc42 I've written a blog entry on converting the Ormerod to dual nozzle at . I still have to describe the fix2nozzle.bat file, although I am looking at a temporary firmware fix to make it unnecessary. Paul & any others who are doing this conversion, let me know if you think I have missed anything out. Thanks dc! This will really be helpfulby moameen - Ormerod
