Hi Rammy, The leds should be connect to the 12v on the board for permanently lighted or, like I did on mine, only lighted when the bed is heating. See picture (sorry for crappy focus, but the smartphone camera is not very good). Regards. Pedro. Rammy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Looking good. Hi, I've been facing the same problem with the first layer and this is what works best for me ... not perfect, because sometimes I have to abort the prints, but most of the time it's coming along nice ... and once first layer finishes well, the printing ends well: Clean the glass with acetone; Set you Z-axis home to 0 distance from the glass; Temps: Fisrt layer: Extruder 205ºC, Bed 65ºC Otherby psilva - Printing
Hi guys, The bed is leveled and the printing improved a lot. It seems tho that my Z0 is a bit low, because when homing, the hot end pushes a lit bit the bed down, and the print's first layer seems to push the filament to the sides ... Is this where I rotate the screw next to to the Z endstop? I've created a small part to use as a filter for the PLA, before entering the extruder, and the "chimby psilva - Printing
... will do ... thanks again. I'll give the results as soon as adjusted and retested.by psilva - Printing
Thank you both ... I'll re-level the bed and check the the Z0 position ... by the way, to change it I should use the screw that controls the end-stop position, right? Or it's done throw the software? (sorry for the newbie questions, but I've assembled the printer following the instructions, so if it is not mention there it's something new to me ... )by psilva - Printing
Hi, I've completed my first two test prints and it seems there is an adhesion to the bed problem. The weird thing is that it only happens on the left side of the bed as you can see on the attached photos (sorry for the crappy look, but my camera run out of batteries ... so I used the cell phone). I used all the profile setting for the printer (Mendel-PLA-05-03) and I'm using PLA 1.75 mm.by psilva - Printing
Almost done ... I would like to add some led strips attached to the top. They work on 12 v. Can I connect them to the board directly?by psilva - Reprappers
Update: Base painted: Aluminium Brushed ... like a lot the way it looks (sorry for the focus, but the phone camera is not very good): Top frame assembled ... everything fits perfectly:by psilva - Reprappers
Just an update on the progress so far. All the frame parts are cut to sizes, the base is primed. Hopefully will be painted this weekend. Made some assembly tests. Acrylic parts also cut. Didn't like the way the aluminium looks, so i'll give it the brushed effect before final assembly.by psilva - Reprappers
Thanks droftarts. Very useful information and enlightening information. Hi, Two questions regarding filament: 1) What do we do when filament ends during a print? Can we insert a new one pushing it until the extruder grabs it saving the print? 2) When the printing ends, there is filament on the hot end, that will cool down and solidify. On the next print, after heating, will there be any problems with nozzle obstruction? Thanks.by psilva - Printing
HI, It's going ... and quite nice ... I'll post some pictures soon ... I've spotted some very nice led stripes with 30 cm at a very good price (about 1 € each) on a local store that would look great on my box. The work at 12 V. Question: Can I connect them to the power supply on the reprap without affecting their performance regarding the printing? Thanks.by psilva - Reprappers
Can anybody from reprappro.com be kind enough to enlighten us?by psilva - Reprappers
Actually its a common mistake, but the pressure rises if the tube diameter increases and not the other way around, at least regarding to water (one of the main reasons why some irrigation systems fail - the tubes aren't just thick enough and the pressure is lost on the furthest sprinklers...)by psilva - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Hello, I think every experience should be reported, not only the bad things. I bought my RepRapPro Mendel from reprappro.com. They announce a 20 working days delivery and they fulfilled it. Thanks ... I've looked at the building manual and I could not find it mentioned anywhere, so I suspected that it was somehow inserted on the bag by mistake, but I wanted to be sure. Regards, Pedro.by psilva - Reprappers
Actually, there seems to be a problem already ... from what Iceman said ... Now it's time to investigate ... I see your point of view and I'm also a "hand's on the job guy" (I've built a MAME arcade cabinet from scratch knowing nothing about wood working, painting and all the related stuff - I'm an IT guy - and use some interesting ideas on the build/design process that were somehow innovativeby psilva - Printing
Hi, Sorry but I have to disagree on that ... I believe the main purpose of the community forums is for people to be able to share their knowledge and help others to use their time on questions that no one knows how to answer. If we all use our time learning alone why bother come here ? This is an example of what makes sense to me: "No angles larger than 45° and you are good to go..." Valid sby psilva - Printing
Hi guys, When I was cleaning up, I found this part that came with the RepRapProd Mendel kit from RepRap.com. The build is finished so, is this something optional? Does anybody can tell were this goes? Thanks. Pedroby psilva - Reprappers

Hi, I'm trying to make a sizable bird feeder. It has a Top and Bottom and then a number of middle sections of your choice. Will they print as is? Thanks. Pedroby psilva - Printing
Thanks ... I appreciate. I'm now evaluating the costs. I have an MDF 19 mm board lying around, so for this is just to cut and paint. First budget for the acrylic, which is my believe that it's the most expensive part. 73,61 € just cut to measures or 88,83 € cut to measures and edges polished plus TVA (23 % around this parts). Are these goods prices?by psilva - Reprappers
I don't know if it can be done with this type of tape because of the temperature, but I think it's worth to try as it gives very good results on the normal tape and on adhesive vinyl: get a very fine needle and perforate all the bubbles, for the air to came out. Then press again ... it should be flat now. GoingForGold Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Excuse meby psilva - General
Hello again, The design is finished. The frame is made of aluminium 23x23 mm square. The joints are made of plastic (don't know if I should print them or buy them since they are not expensive about 1 € each). The support frames for the acrylic are also aluminium 6x6 mm square in U shape. The acrylic is transparent with a 5 mm thickness. The top opening will be used for ventilation and is right aby psilva - Reprappers

Finished all the assembly and wiring. When I was about to start the sugested tests to be done before powering, the fan acts bizarre. Video Is this normal or have I done something wrong on the wiring?by psilva - General
Hi, Almost done on the wiring, got a little issue regarding the wires to use on the end stops. The instructions state that we could use the excess wire from the motors for the end stops connections. My problem is that the excess wire from the motors is very short ... they must be reducing their lengths . I have some remains from a sound installation I have done a few years ago. They are 0,5 mmby psilva - Reprappers
Yes ... it is my plan for the frame, with maybe acrylic for the sides, with the front side easily fully removable from the top ... Thanks for the useful info. So, regarding the temperature, should it be sufficient to leave a top opening along the z motors from side to side or leave it with no top at all? (still that doesn't solve my dust problem). Any suggestions?
