I'm located in East York and I have an I2. It's running and I'll be glad to help in anyway I can. I'm not great at the mechanical, electronics or software (did I miss anything), but I did get mine running with the help from a lot of others. So, I might at least be some kind of a resource for you.by MikeMike - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group
Quotentwrkguru QuoteaBrainDump @ntwrkguru Here are some settings to check in Slic3r. Print Settings Tab (Layer Height, First Layer Height) For a .5 nozzle try both at .4 These were at .25 and .3. Set them to both be .4 and it's printing the first layer splendidly now. Now if I could get the sides smoother, I'd be a happy camper! They're not bad, just not as good as others I've seen. I'm in York, PA and have a Prusa i2 and a Huxley. And also starting to print parts the RepRap Simpson GUS.by MikeMike - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group
Quotesgraber FYI here's the number of parts to print: I'm going to slice them tonight and report back on filament amounts and time to print like I did before with Wally. Thanks for pointing out the printable parts with amounts to print. Do you happen to have a count on each of the non-printable items. I would like to put in an order for all of the nuts and bolts and other things like that.by MikeMike - Delta Machines
@TECH GEEK - I'll be in the Philly area this weekend. I'll bring my printer. I'm driving, so I can meet you any where that is good for you. I may also try to visit Hive76, if they have something going on this weekend. You're welcome to join me.by MikeMike - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group
I'm in York, I have a Huxley but haven't worked on it for several months. I broke a few printed parts and just need replacements printed. But all of the electronics and hot end are working.by MikeMike - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group
Just to add to your options...I got bowden tubing a friend that got it from USPlastic.com about 10 months ago. My printer is finally running reliably and I've used it almost everyday for the past few months and it is working well. Here is an old thread about the tubing. My bowden cable is probably 3 times longer than it needs to be. But the 3mm filament still slides smoothly through it. Iby MikeMike - General
Hi DeuxVis, thanks for the tip and instructions. I followed your instructions and used your post-processing file. Now, I'm using slic3r to generate gcode for my TechZone Huxley. I'm not good at coding, so I don't have any code to contribute. But, I at least wanted to say thank you for sharing. Now, I can start fine tuning my settings in slic3r.by MikeMike - Slic3r
TechGeek, York is about 2 and 1/2 hours away from Levittown. If you don't mind the travel, you are welcome to stop by. I'm making progress on the space. Hopefully, it will be useable soon.by MikeMike - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group
Hi Josh, congrats on your progress with your Prusa. It is always nice to find more RepRappers close by. You are welcome to come over. I'll send you the details.by MikeMike - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group

It seems there are a few RepRappers in the area, but there hasn't been a place to meet. I'm willing to offer my garage as a meeting spot. It is currently full of junk, no cars though. I'm going to begin clearing it out and creating a workspace. The garage is well lit and has electrical outlets all around. One outlet is electronic sensitive and another is 220, no 3 phase yet. I'd love to do a meetup after the holidays also. I have a Huxley from a kit. It's together and printing. Now, I'm making adjustments and calibrating.by MikeMike - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Any RepRap users meeting any time soon? I'm interested. I can bring my Huxley. It is together and printing. Now, I'm making adjustments and tweaks.by MikeMike - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
It looks like Johnstown is about 3 hours west of York, PA, where I am. I'd love to hear about your progress with your Prusa. Maybe we can figure out a way to meet at some point.by MikeMike - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group
>where did you get that cable from any how.? I was playing with the printer at a friend's house. He has a bunch of lathes and woodworking equipment. He wants to make a CNC using one of his big machines. He's pretty handy to say the least and he saw the problems I was having with my Bowden cable and said that he had some harder tubing in his shop. I tried it and it worked great. It is calby MikeMike - Huxley
>> I'll ask him about how he got the bowden to work so well. >I was thinking that. It would be great to know! I'm not sure what E Maker did. But, I replaced the cable that shipped with my TechZone Huxley kit with a harder one. It has less friction and it is also less springy. I haven't had any troubles since. I'm getting fairly good and consistent prints. Now, I just have to leaby MikeMike - Huxley
Hi Chris, I'm very close to getting my RepRap Huxley to melt plastic. I have the heating element installed, I just have to connect the wires to the board. I have to make and mount the flags for the endstops and do final adjustments and tightening on the frame. From there it will be just a lot of fine tuning to get it to print reliably. If I had a little help, I'm sure my printer will be ableby MikeMike - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group
I live in York, PA. So far, I haven't found any groups in the area. The closest one I found is in Reading. I went tnere a few times, but that's too far for me to go on a regular basis. It may be more manageable from Harrisburg. It's a cool group and they have been very helpful to me. I do recommend them if they're not too far for you. I'm also looking for a group less than an hour drive frby MikeMike - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group
My TechZone Huxley kit shipped with a PTFE cylinder instead of the oak block. TechZone doesn't have the PTFE block listed on their order site at the moment. But, they may be able to give you more info about it. There is also a printed part that holds the cylinder into the x carriage. I'm still putting my machine together and I haven't tested the hot end yet. But, the construction specs soundby MikeMike - General Mendel Topics
@rista I'm putting together a TechZone Huxley right now. I've been following instructions recommended by TechZone at this link: . So far, I've gotten the frame together, installed the software on Ubuntu 10.10. Tested the motors by connecting them to the circuit board. They are responding to the software. Next, I'll be truing the frame and adding the electronics to the frame. I still have aby MikeMike - General Mendel Topics
