I am lucky enough to work my dads machine shop and have cast aluminum plate available. The problem I am having is finding a silicone heater that can be purchased in the US. SeeMeCNC is selling a 300 watt but it is sold out at this time. If I had a choice I would rather it be 500 watts. Every time I do a web search any other heaters are from from China. Amazon has a Keenvo heater. But it isby Kasahabo - General
I am resurrecting my old Rostock Max v2 and would like to add a 300mm diameter 110v bed heater to it. I can find several from China. But I would rather not wait for a month for it to arrive. Anyone know if a supplier in the USA carries them. Thank you for your help.by Kasahabo - General
If you haven't already. You might try e mailing the company and request information regarding forums or user groups specific to that machine. Contact Us by Email info@gimax3d.comby Kasahabo - General
Thank you all for the help. I went with Design Spark for now. The extension is .rsdoc. The assembly files are amazing.by Kasahabo - General
I want to install Design Spark Mechanical. The software registration requires information such as business name, address and a phone number. I am a hobbyist and was only planning to use this to check out the Digital Dentist's Ultra MegaMax Dominator build. I do not wish to be bothered by them. Have any of you found away around this? Thank you.by Kasahabo - General
I like the work that has been presented here and would like to build a machine this. When I have time. I have been keeping an eye out for miscellaneous parts that would go into the project. I did notice that someone on ebay is selling these linear guides. They are 24mm x 430mm x 8mm. The seller wants $39.00 each. They are a little long but that is not a problem for me. The micrometer might be a good idea. It did get me to thinking about some products I am familiar with. They come from a company called Thor Labs. They are based in the US. Here is a link "https://www.thorlabs.com/navigation.cfm?guide_id=131". Sorry I was not able to create a click able link. Look for the image containing 3/16-100 actuators. They have adjustment screws as well as threaded bby Kasahabo - CoreXY Machines
Sorry, I do know that Makerbot can be a four letter word around this site. But someone near me is selling a Replicator Z18 for a price comparable to digital dentist's project. I have been following digital dentist's "Alternative to buying a bad kit for 300-500 dollars" printer build. And was wondering if this would be a good candidate. To do the same with as he as done with the Cube X. As Iby Kasahabo - General
Good Morning. I have a problem. The person that I purchased the Cube Pro from must have miscalculated shipping that was posted in the auction. Turns out it is substantially more. The dimensions of the Cube Pro are 22.75 x 22.75 x 23.25 inches. It is hard to tell what the size will be after packaging. I tried the UPS calculator and ran some numbers and it look like prices really jump after 2by Kasahabo - General

Dust Thank you for the quick, clear and concise answers. I thought there was more to it than that. Today I did find this Marlin User Guide . It will be of some help with future questions. One further question regarding steps per unit with the Extruder parameter. Not sure how to interpret "760*1.1" is the 1.1 a gear ratio as in 1 to 1 meaning no decrease or increase of rotation in the driveby Kasahabo - Firmware - Marlin
I will be using Marlin firmware 1.02-.2 in a Cube Pro upgrade. This will be my first time diving this deep into Marlin. While browsing a copy of the firmware I noticed something that confuses me. In "Homing Feed Rate and Steps Per Unit". Some of the information input by the user uses numbers as well as mathematical symbols. The Homing Feed Rates look like this. {50*60, 50*60, 4*60, 0} and thby Kasahabo - Firmware - Marlin
Dancook Thank you. Any help is valuable to me. Oblisk79 I did find a calculator on the web and ran your numbers assuming 1.8 degree steppers and ran your configuration. The answers returned were the similar to yours except the calculator must have been designed around two place decimals. Here is the link to the web site.by Kasahabo - General
Thank you for your offer of the control board Dancook. I will keep that in mind. I am not sure what I am going to do. First of all I would like to ask you or the general audience a few questions. Two years ago I purchased an Azteeg x3 Pro v1.1 and a Viki lcd, I believe it to be version 1. Never used them for the project they were intended. I would like to use them for this project but it sby Kasahabo - General
Hello I have recently purchased a Cube Pro Duo for $200 plus shipping it is non working condition. Assuming that the worst thing would be a burnt up control board. Its condition doesn't bother me as I am prepared to learn and will be replacing it anyway. Hopefully it will be here in a week. I do have a few questions before getting started with the build but first a question about proper foby Kasahabo - General
Thank you all for the information regarding the differences and similarities of the X and Pro series Cube. Looks like a fun and relatively inexpensive project....by Kasahabo - General
I have been following this thread with great interest and am wanting to follow your examples. I do have a question. The Cube X Duo isn't always available but I do sometimes see the Cube Pro Duo. The lower prices are in line with what you are paying for the Cube X. Do any of you know the difference between the two? Would I have to re invent what has already been accomplished here?. I have trby Kasahabo - General
What do you think about this seller claiming to be selling an authentic Cube X Duo versus many Chinese clones being sold. Seller Warning of Chinese Clones It is more than I would spend but just wanted to get your input on how to avoid "clones." Thank you.by Kasahabo - General
Thank you for taking time to further explain some of the finer details of your build. I have to agree with your build philosophy as you have described in the documentation of your Son of Megamax Build. Being a machinist I have higher expectations of 3d printers than some. I have seen comments in forums where one person is trying to achieve unreasonable tolerances from their machine and othersby Kasahabo - CoreXY Machines
Digital Dentist I have been following your Core XY build and have been inspired to build one of my own when I have time. If you do not mind I have a few questions. Having been through this thread a couple of times I have been unable to find the answers. First, you mention using 24mm by 8mm linear rails. Where did you purchase these? If they are something that you got second hand, would an acby Kasahabo - CoreXY Machines
I have to agree with the use of mic 6 tooling plate. I have replaced the 12 inch piece of glass on a delta printer with the mic 6 aluminum and am not sorry.by Kasahabo - Reprappers
Check this thread, although it is not a complete comparison of the three build surfaces that you mentioned. They are mentioned and geared more towards PrintBite. I would say that this build surface does look promising.by Kasahabo - General

I have discovered a PLA filament and have a couple of questions regarding it. The resin is made by NatureWorks. The specific name seems to be “Ingeo PLA” even more specific “Ingeo PLA 3d850”. Is this something you have used, what were your experiences? I tried to do a search for anybody that has used it on this site and did not come up with anything. Thank you for your reply. Being a non Linux expert I forgot to drag my mouse outside the Sli3r window and to the top of the desktop and hover. To my surpise my answer appeared right before my eyes. It also disappears when the mouse is moved down about 3/8 of an inch. Thanks again.by Kasahabo - Slic3r
I have recently installed Sli3r version 1.2.9 in a Linux Ubuntu environment. It will open in what must be a basic mode (not sure I am a new Sli3r user). It suggests that I choose expert mode for more options. I have pressed every button or tab I can find and I am unsure how or where to enable expert mode. I tried to Google a solution. No luck. Hello Thank you for taking time to help me. That was exactly what I needed to know. I tried to google, but evidently was not asking the right question.by Kasahabo - Printrun/Pronterface
I would like to create a custom button in Pronterface that will allow me to move an indicator across my heated bed. I have created custom buttons to home as well as other one line commands but, have not been able to add additional lines of code. If I press enter to start a new line the button closed, pressing the down arrow key does not work either. I am looking to create one button to home, tby Kasahabo - Printrun/Pronterface
You mention that the information that you offered pertains to Marlin firmware. Whould you know wether or not this translates to Repetier firmware, this is what my printer uses. Thank you and good luck to the both of us.by Kasahabo - Delta Machines
I realize that this may not be a reprap style printer but, it is in the delta style and I am having trouble getting the information I need on other forums. I am having issues with printed dimensions not measuring as expected. My printer is a Rostock Max V2. The firmware is Repetier, that has been pre configured for the printer by the manufacturer.
