Printed a single wall object, adjusted multiplier so the wall comes out at 0.40 mm +-0.01. Since then, I get no overextrusion and negative space is properly sized, but on the other hand, any single line (perimeters specifically) are so thin that they are not even connected.. you can stick a fingernail between the perimeter lines and pull the object apart. Is this a known issue? I am using 1.1.7.von Arakon - Slic3r
This thread is a bit older, but this may still be useful to someone. Your turbine has a huge load of errors. Get the plugin called "Solid Inspector". It works wonders for identifying broken sections. Anywhere a turbine blade connects to the center, there's a surface in between, preventing the model from being a solid (a single outer surface). That will cause all kinds of strange effects.von Arakon - Slic3r
Okay, at least that tells me my settings or filament aren't totally off. Thank you.von Arakon - Printing
I have massive stringing issues with cura too. If I slice the same file with simplify3d, I get no stringing at all, but instead it messes up quite a few other things (mis-slicing surfaces, even placed 2 very thin surfaces into an open tube).von Arakon - Mendel90
Okay, now it gets strange. I just sliced with simplify3d, and no stringing at all. The only thing I can think of is that simplify has a retract compensation setting when starting to extrude again, while cura seems to be missing that option?von Arakon - Printing
No, this is halfway used already. I don't believe I had this issue before.. this may be partially related to the parts I am printing, but even with more "normal" shaped prints, I get random strings hanging around. Edit: I just tried printing it again with the parts very far apart.. still strings, just much longer ones connecting the parts.von Arakon - Printing
I finally got my printer adjusted decently for ABS, only to run into issues again with PLA. I get stringing.. bad too. I tried: Increasing print speed from 50mm/s to 80mm/s Increasing and dropping temperature. All the way from 170° to 210°. Increasing and lowering retract. 1mm to 4mm, 20mm/s to 50mm/s. Lowering flow rate from 100% to now 96% (ended up with noticable gaps between lines in top layevon Arakon - Printing
Nope, the jumper isn't set. The terminals were actually a little loose.. is it possible that they come loose from heating/cooling/vibration? All of them took a good 1-2 turns to tighten fully again, bed, heater, etc. Voltage seems to have risen to 11.6v now, so it may have been a contact issue indeed. Any means to keep the screws from wiggling loose? I don't want to overtighten them to the pointvon Arakon - General
Hi. I successfully printed 2 things yesterday. Among them, a 7h ABS print, no issues. Later in the evening, I started a 3h job.. at 70%, the printer simply stopped. No strange sounds, USB connection was dropped (I was printing from SD card), motors and heaters off. I was able to connect to the board right away again and control the printer via USB. It happened again on another file shortly after, von Arakon - General
My hotend is limited to 250°, but 240 already seems to improve matters. Thanks.von Arakon - Printing
Quoteggherbaz Slow down the speed, or increase temperature and try to enclose the printer to protect it from cool drafts. Forgot to mention, it is enclosed (cardboard box). The height is off a little, but actually a little low (1.96mm vs. 2mm). The outer/inner perimeters are already going slower (to improve looks), 30/40 mm/s vs. the original 50. Temperature is 230°, this ABS is already fully prvon Arakon - Printing
I have some trouble with the layer adhesion using ABS in somewhat thinwalled objects (2mm in this case). The picture shows one of the two parts that broke off with the part they broke off of. It takes just a little bit of pressure between two fingers to make it snap. When looking at the broken edge, it's quite visible that the filament laid down is in a roundish shape still and not squished intovon Arakon - Printing
85% Flow, 90° Bett durchgehend, 0.3mm Layer. X: Y: Von oben:von Arakon - Allgemeines
So, letzte Tests.
Just found out that this also happens with PLA.. not quite so badly, but even with the fan running at 100%.von Arakon - Printing
