Hello, I have spent a lot of time googling looking for an explanation and solution to a problem I have.
I use an anycubic chiron printer, but I think I have seen this on other printers to. I use cura for slicing and pretty standard settings printing pla.
I am printing a cyclindrical object and it seems that rather than print in full circles, it prints up to a point, then turns around and goes b

Gazza,
After reading that review from Torben got me thinking I might ask you a load of questions here about your parts and help others make a cheap prusa set.
I had a look this morning at trying to source the cheapest parts to build a Prusa I3 not including motors, heatbed or electronics because I can salvage these from another project. I would like to know your opinion of any of the items belo

Hi guys,
I am trying to setup my smoothieboard and give it a test, but I am falling at a relatively early hurdle......PLEASE HELP???
I have loaded the firmware using the SD card and it appears to have taken it successfully as it changed the file name on the SD card.
I have installed the Windows drivers for smoothieboard and it shows up when I connect via USB in my device manager.

Dust,
Thanks for your reply. When sourcing parts I did notice that Kliment has made a lot of expensive choices and its not surprising to me that the board costs more than competitors. It does bug me a bit though that complaining about $30 etc because as someone who has made a few boards, I have noted that it is not theoretically possible to sell boards at the Chinese prices if you are using genu

Hello everyone,
I am making a 4PI / Reup board and have sourced most of the parts but there are one or two discrepancies in the BOMs and I wanted to ask if people either have an opinion or direct knowledge that could help me make a decision on which parts to choose. I have the BOM generated from the eagle file and also a BOM that Kliment (the designer of this board) says was used for production.

Tony,
Thanks for your response, so far I had a quick look at the blogs, will have a full read later but want to reply quick.
From what I understand I want to solder the pads closest to the ribbon cable connector on the breakout board for normal operation (supported by standard firmware) correct? I note your diagram may be confusing as it is from above and the jumpers are underneath so when you

Really great work Bob, can't wait to get my hands on one when youve tested the latest version.
I have a quick question though, I looked at your stuff on GitHub and you have .brd files but they don't open in eagle. What software do you need to view your files? I am after a BOM to see what parts you are using.
You have gerbers there too, are these the ones you sent off to manufacture?

Hi guys,
I just built a panelolu2 and am looking for some help with the solder jumpers. If someone has a working board, could they tell me how the jumpers are set on their board and which firmware they are using?
There are two sets of jumpers, a 4 way jumper on the main board and 2 off 3-way jumpers on the Sanguinololu breakout board.
To simplify, I will describe the easist orientation of look

Great, thanks for your help, much appreciated, I will have a play around.
One other thought, do you think I need heat sinks?
These chips are supposed to capable of driving something like 3A and I will only be using <1A so will they be ok without?

Thanks again,
Looking just now I note that with all jumpers in place I had it set for 1/32 micro stepping and when I removed all jumpers it was set to full step but neither worked. Do you have to tell the firmware what micro stepping you are using and these have to match? If do, can I also select 1/32 micro stepping and leave all jumpers in?

Thanks for the response, I will try that in a couple of days when I get home.
Is that true for sanguinololu, ramps and gen7?
I will try and post my success (or not) next week.

I recently built a set of cooldrv stepper drivers with the drv8825 drivers and tested them on my sanguinololu and ramps electronics and with both, the motors turn much slower and seem to grind / vibrate and make a horrible sound. I tried removing jumpers to change micro stepping settings but this did nothing.
These boards were described as being drop in replacement for pololu drivers but mine d

I am confused, look at this:
and then look at this:
Which is right?
Nextdayreprap has a sturdy aluminium base on which the linear bearings for the Y axis are attached. Then a set of bolts with springs for levelling to a heat bed plate onto which the pcb and mirror are mounted directly.
The guy on ebay sells to plates but has the pcb extended another layer higher, i.e. has two sets of bolt

Oh, also, what sort of wire should I purchase for connecting it? I.e. what gauge and also, what sort of thermal properties and thickness of the insulator should it have as a minimum?

Hi,
I am sourcing parts for my Prusa and I am looking at what to buy / make for my heatbed.
I am looking to buy a heatbed MK2a with the three hold mounting for easy levelling looks like a good idea.
First of all, it says use M2.5 screws but a guy on ebay who sells heatbed kits includes M3, so will M3 fit ok?
Secondly, I have a friend who can get the bed and base plate machined for me but I a

I have read through this article and can't fully get my head around all the different resistor selections. Let me summarise what I think it all means and would really like to hear your thoughts.
I also number all questions so you can send a quick response to any questions you know the answer
Assuming the stepstick layout,
Release says use S1, S2 = 0.2 Ohm, 0.25 W
R4 = 10 k
T1 = 10 k

Thanks traumflug,
I'll try using a usbtiny.
Am I right in thinking that having the ftdi chip means I only have to upload the bootloader through the isp connecter? After that its all done via usb right? What software do I use to upload the firmware to the board?
Any ideas or comments on the other questions?
Cheers

I am looking at my gen 3 pcbs before I make them and I am trying to decide what connectors and cables I need to wire it up. I have motherboard v1.2, stepper driver v2.3r, extruder v2.2.
1)The stepper drivers have two 8p8c sockets for the endstops but I can use 3-pos 2.54 wire to board conenctors if I like can't I?
2)It seems you need to use 8p8c connector plus cables for the extruder though, is

C6 has the value of 100uF in the EAGLE file but I found a BOM for this board somewhere on the internet that says it is 10uF.
Does anyone know with any confidence which it is? Has anyone made one with either way, did it work?
Any help appreciated!

Oh, an afterthought, what colour are the LEDS on gen6 supposed to be?
LED1 = Debug - RED?
LED2 = Power - Green?
LED3 = HEAT - Green?
Also, assume I want to connect to pc using USB, do I leave the solder jumpers SD1 and SD2 both clear, or do I need to close one?
Thanks

Hi guys,
I am new to this but will be posting tons of questions shortly. Reason being, I have just bought a load of bare pcbs and all the parts and started making. I am making gen3, gen4, gen6, gen7, ramps, sang you name it. I want to understand how it all works rather than just buy something ready made, so I figured if I tried to make a few different types, by the end I would know the lot. I kn
