Thanks for all the help! After returning to calibration I managed to break the hot end and had to buy a new part. Managed to get it all back together at weekend only for everything to go completely wrong!
Repetier crashes after every slice using slic3r; When eventually I get it to slice with Cura, the print crashes half way through with the LCD saying thermal runaway (temps were fine on the LCD s

Hi
Having problems with Repetier. After upgrading to the latest version (V1.6.1) 95% of the time I run slicer with slic3r and Repetier crashes. I have tried reverting back to the older version but that does the same. Have you any experience of this happening before? Could it be slic3r not Repetier?
Any hep appreciated. Please let me know if you need additional info or screen shots.

After a little fiddling (and a blocked nozzle). I managed to get a fairly successful print this morning:
Much happier with these prints. There are still a few niggles; infill was only 20% and appeared to be extremely sporadic (gonna try again with 40% and increase as appropriate); got a weird error a couple of times on screen 11:32:45.501 : echo:Unknown command: "7". Not sure if means anyt

Thanks for all the help. I've located the settings after realizing there is an option in preferences to switch to advanced mode.....boom after a restart the advanced option appears at the bottom of every tab. I've changed the widths, heights and increased the extrude temp. I will have another shot at printing tomorrow (getting a bit late here now). Hopefully I can cobble together something to kee

I wondered about altering the extrusion width but can't for the life of me find where the setting for it is in slic3r? searched all tabs and can't see it? Any pointers?

I'm printing on Kapton tape as a starter whilst deciding where to go. No enclosure as of yet. I'm managing to get a max bed temp of about 113 degrees C. I used a 5mm brim to aid the printing adhesion, maybe a bigger brim?
The hot end I have is good to 300 so no problems ramping up the extrusion temp! That was at 240 extrude temp and 110 bed.
It'd wouldn't be a challenge or fun if it was too easy

Cheers for the really quick response! I'm printing with the following settings:
Bed temp 110, extrude temp 240. I'm using a 0.4 nozzle so printing height 0.3 (first layer 0.35).
Here's a screen grab of speed settings
I do have a fan on the cold end but it is blowing on the job too.

Hi
Can anyone please lend an experienced eye and point me in the right direction to fixing a couple of printing issues?
I don't seem to be getting fusion between extrusions in solid layers (top and bottom included). Its not just per layer but also layer to layer?
I'm also seeing what I'm describing as 'curl up'.
Please take a look at the attached photos and let me know what you think?

Repetier
I tried clicking the icon to the left of the extruder 1 bar to remove the red line and setting the temperature to 230. The hot end didn't heat.I did the same with the heat bed and that ramped up to temperature fine.
I also tried sending an M104 S230 Gcode which also didn't work.
I then loaded a .stl file, sliced it and started the print to see if I could get the hot end to heat that way. The Bed

Repetier
Hi
I'm new to using Repetier (was using Pronterface). I struggling with heating the hot end on my Prusa. I've dug through all the settings and just can't fathom why this strange phenomenon is happening? Heat bed works fine and Hotend works when I switch back to Pronterface? Anyone any ideas please? Happy to post any screenshots as required.
Cheers

Repetier
Ok, now I'm really confused. If tell the hotend to heat in Pronterface it does quite happily. It seems its only Repertier that the issue is in?? Anyone?

Addition:
I have tested the hot end by attaching it directly to 12V supply and the it heats up. Must therefor be a firmware issue?

Hi all
Newbie here. I've completed my scratch Prusa i3 build and after completing some calibration I am unable to get the hotend to heat up? I've had a good search around and have checked for resistance (5.4 ohms) successfully.
I'm guessing its a firmware problem?
I have a Hexagon AO hotend (1.75 dia - 0.4 nozzle), marlin firmware and running Repartier host V1.6.0.
Can anyone give me any pointe

Prusa i3 and variants
Does anyone know of a kit Prusa i3 with both Bowden extruder and metallic frame? I've been looking but can only find acrylic frames?
