Hello,
I am building systems for analytical chemistry inspired from 3D printing, I use arduino, RAMPS and Marlin to control motors, temperatures, fan etc...
I built my own host software where the GCODE is created and send directly to the printer. The software is written in R, use the shiny library to host a server on a raspberry pi and call a small python script to read and send GCODE files and

Hello,
I would like to present one of my project:
I re-purpose a 3D printer to print silica gel layer for planar chromatography.
Chromatography in two sentences is a technique allowing separation of molecules based on their interactions with a stationary phase (here silica gel) and a mobile phase (here toluene). The mobile phase flow through the stationary phase and the molecules that have more

Solved, I went to see the electronic workshop of my institut and they gave us resistance to lower the voltage to 5V. We can now control on the device.

RAMPS Electronics
Hello,
I want to use the RAMPs to hack an apparatus. My problem is that they use 12V endstop. I can supply 12V to the sensors but I am afraid I cannot use the signal from the sensor to the ramps as it will be 12V instead of the 5V of the classic endstops.
Am I right ?
Thanks in advance.

I was afraid of such answer but it's not really a surprise...
If I put it back with my word, hbot only drive on side while corexy will drive both, and paf, no more shifting. And because my construction is far from rigid, hbot could not do it.
So I guess I must start over...
Thanks for your quick answer

CoreXY Machines
Hi,
I am building a machine for a project of mine, applying layers of silica gel to a glass plate.
It's not really a 3d printer but as I need X, Y and Z movement as well as controlling the syringe, it use the same principle.
I choose an hbot configuration for it simplicity, see in attach the jpg and the openscad file (the openscad contain lots of other stuff but only the xy will be rendered for

I come back on this one a few days later,
I now tried to apply several layers and it looks like the slicing is only strange for the first layer, the next layers with a height of 0.1mm will apply the desired 58 mm. I changed the value of the first layer extrusion width ( in print setting -> advanced) by trial and error, I get the targeted 58 mm in the gcode with a percentage of 730%.
I first

Well, I am actually using the gcode with the 1.55 filament diameter and the syringe output the desired 1 mL.
I looked inside each gcode and I can confirm that pronterface read the good value for the filament length, in the comment and with the last G1 value (G1 X99.647 Y99.859 E6.40988 and G1 X99.647 Y99.859 E58.93623).
I select the overlap infill/perimeters at 0% in slic3r and looked at all pa

Hi,
I am using slic3r for a project in chemistry:
Printing a 0.1 mm layer on a 100*100 mm surface
I am using a syringe to apply my material (silica gel), it should apply 1 mL, 1000 mm3
The inner diameter of the syringe is 4.7 mm so the length to apply should be 58 mm.
But in slic3r, if I enter 4.7 mm as diameter in the filament setting, once I load the gcode in pronterface, it says that it

Pardon,

Hello,
The reset buttons of my ramps 1.4 is out of service causing untimely reset of the arduino,
It's not a real button anymore, there is no "click" when I push it, instead, a simple touch is enough to action the reset (or the vibration of the printer).
My question is : Can I deactivate the button in the firmware?
Thanks in advance
