If you have a 3d printer and some nylon you could print a bushing for any combination of what ever you can get your hands on. I guess import fees are a problem where your at?

Maybe round because it can be more forgiving in certain planes for misalignment and potentially have better contact for a given area . What are you considering? pics,links ?

Ive been a machinist for 30+ years and own one of those real vertical machining centers. My advice is if your going to cut any type of metal, rigidity in the machine and work holding is paramount. Sure you can cut aluminum without a rigid set up but it will look like poo and forget holding tight dimensions. Surface finish will suck. 20mm lead finally showed up. Machining fixity blocks for bearings and hope to begin testing this weekend. The 20mm lead will have approximately half the mechanical advantage of the 10mm but this will bring the motor back on to the torque chart for a larger portion of the speed range. Other factors at play so we will see.

Disregard. I dont think anything needs to be changed. Its doing very well as is (see attachment). Probably need to run an autotune on the hotend again though. On a side note Im trying some 12v 50w heaters
i got off ebay which are the same dimensions as the 30w. These things kick butt. 25-370c in a little over 2.5 minutes. 25-160c in 2 minutes for new bed heater. No more waiting for temps .......

From my experience, an i3 style leadscrew printer I used provided very good results. The machine utilized 8mm diameter four start (8mm lead) leadscrews accompanied with the OpenBuilds anti-backlash (adjustable) Delrin nuts.

TDD, did you mount an indicator to one of your linear slides an run it the entire length (screw and motor) check for both TIR and parallel?
on another note I just took off my sexy, all black, .9 deg Motech nema 17 and bolted on the cheapest 1.8deg nema 17 I have with similar torque specs and alot more inductance and it threw that 3kg around all the way up to 375 mm/s. the motech lost position at

I remember you mentioning the resonance issue and was anticipating it but not seen or heard even a trace. I have tried both 1.8 and .9 motors at the 16x ms (interpolated) which is preferred setting for the Duets drivers. It is super quit with the .9 motors. It's a faulty design if you can crash at high speeds. I'd put a limit switch in before your carriage can hit the end of its travel. You can test the distance it needs in the middle of the travel instead of the end.
its just a mechanism for testing. we are designing it now. lots of manual g-code input. wont be able engineer out my ability to potentially input something wrong

40w already gets hot enough to melt an aluminum heater block (450C+), what is the point of a 60w heater?
A 60w heater might nice to get you up around 350-400 quicker. i print PEI sometimes and the 40w heater starts gettin sluggish on my V6 with a copper block. I have some PEEK on the way. That should tell the story

The problem is solved. The error appears to have occurred during Z lift while retracting and accumulated. A new driver eliminated the issue but that may be because of a slight change mechanically or electronically that caused the original to,after 3 years perform differently.

I have been fighting printing issues the last 2 days (PETG/CF) seemingly getting progressively worse. Basically the first layer was perfect then it went down hill from there like it was under extruding I double checked all the calibrations and all were dead on. Yes TDD, The screw pictured is 10 mm lead (12 mm dia) . Im hoping through the use of DC42's electronics I can get out of the resonance zone by running real high steps/sec. Like 40,000 with the 10mm lead/.9 stepper/16x ms. Lots of theory at this point. I have a lot of work to do.

TDD, since you've gone down the "printer from scratch" road a couple times would you mind offering some suggestions on linear slide size. Im targeting a build volume of 200x200x200, a print speed of 50-60 mm/s and 100 mm/s + rapids. The 2 E3d Aquas come in at close to 500 grams each and eat up 132mm side by side so the X will need about 350 mm of slide and a little less in Y. Im thinking 2 slide
