@dzach- it would be easier to discusss if you also read what other people are adding to this discussion.
If you read the slic3r documentation that was added by @sound here: , you would see that for a standard user the "correct" math is used with rounded rectangles and only if W/T<1 another model (rectangle) is used.
I might think that not many pepole other than Nophead is using a flow where wi

I would never take an animation as a fact sheet, but it looks of course impressive, but hardly showing reality.
I do not think that this animation would show different if a rectangle math was used, we are talking about volumen here going through extruder and the diffence in using rectangle or rounded rectangle is a minor difference in my opinion with this in mind.
Interpretion of layout is of cou

I think you may draw hasty conclusions here. i think your math looks great, but I am also convinced that the simplicity of the rectangle simplification may only produce minor errors compared to the many other factors involved here. i think it was mentioned above in this thread that max error from this would be app 0.05 to the object dimension, (correct me if I remember wrong).
You say that if W

@Nophead, I think you should give it a chance here!
In my opinion I think it is very positive @sound after all these discussions is offering a move towards something probably better, despite that he never got any deasant suggestion on how to really move forward.
I read Slic3r documentation on your subject like this different from you:

Ok did not know there was a difference displaying with different FW..
I still use Marlin FW at the moment.
I can see that the response to M 105 is returned with only one decimal in log, which may explain this difference.
Thankyou.

Showing 1 decimal (185,5) is fine even that precision here is non existing on an interpolated temperature reading, but why bother to show it with 2 decimals (185,00,185,10, 185,20 etc) if second decimal is always 0?
I have never seen anything than 0 displayed in second position.

An "ok" test for M105 in idle state would be fine enough for me as a minimum.
Maybe you have been thinking a bit further than me on this matter, and I sure understand the complications with a running print program, but that was not my ambition with this suggestion.
I will certainly look forward to your next upgrade which you have mentioned for a while now :-).

With Host manul control display, temperatures are always shown with resolution of two decimals.
Isn't that somehow overkill, as second decimal is always 0 and resolution/accuracy would never come close to 1/100 deg anyway.
Waste of good display room :-).

That was why I earlier suggested that wait-for-temperature should be a host function and not made with commands to fw as this make them non-cancellable, but as Host is sending these commands it would be fairly easy to cancel surveillance with these specific commands.
I think your willingness to changes has changed dramatically since your leaving open source, that is a pity, even if there is no c

I do not understand your argumentation here.
Repetier send M105 request all the time i assume, so the simplest surveillance would be to look for ACK on this command and timeout if no response, correct me if i am wrong.

I think Host should be able to recognize if fw has lost power or is just not responding for some reason.
Some ping function should be able to see whether Fw is still responding,
As it is now host still reports connected even if you power down your controller.

If you have 2 or more extruders enabled in your FW (mine is marlin) you can normally select 1 or more extruders in repetier Host printer setup as well.
if you decide to use only one extruder selected in host, it would be convenient to be able to select default extruder at start up (if f.ex one extruder has died, you could switch to another default extruder) .
If only 1 extruder is selected in ho

It would be nice if one or even two aux fan controls could be added to the control panel similar to the existing fan slider control.
At least my board has more ouputs that could be pwm controlled if attached to panel for extra fan or LED.

I do not know the absolute limits to Slic3r settings, but as long as your nozzle size is greater than layerheight, it should be fine otherwise default settings are used without warning.

Is there any specification on extruder nozzle geometry for different version, drawings etc.?
I have a MK8 0,35mm nozzle, but after purchasing a few I find very different versions around.
The flat part on output around nozzle exit seems to vary a lot, mine is app 0,8, but i assume it may have big influence on how large you can set your extrusion width.
In my case i would not think anything larger

Repetier Host latest rev works fine with Marlin also with Bed Power.
Check your version of Repetier Host as this feature was introduced recently (0.95+). maybe Marlin needs an update also?

Do not expect any help with so little information supplied.
As a minimum you may attach your STL model and your slicer config file, then maybe someone has a chance to give you a hint about your problem, it could be that you are your own source to your problems.
Try to remove any obvious suspect parameters in your setup, without any knowledge I can see from your picture that "Interface pattern spa

What is important here is that your power suplly is rated 5V as anything higher than that could fry your board. The amperage rating 1,2A is a minimum rating so your supply needs to be able to supply anything greater than that.
So your supply MUST be a 5v rated suply but the amperage could be anything from 2-whatever. (10W-?)
I would prefer a switch mode supply but it does not really matter as lo

What "does not write bom" mean? :-D

Yes that is fine, but not good for continous alerting monitoring.
However I just discovered that 3d display and temperature display can easily be toggled by horizontal left/right arrows which may be as good, next to my suggestion (i).
Thanks.
Have you any preference for UTMF-8 editors for editing language files?. Some languages could need some refinements.
