I've attached PDF's of the Tantillus.org website from the Wayback machine. Most were from around February 2015. Some images are missing.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Oops... reposted topic sorry. I'd delete my post but that isn't possible here.by Lisa M - Tantillus
I hope it is okay to post this here. If not please feel free to delete. I have a Tantillus printer for sale with Approx 15 rolls of 3mm filament for sale. Most of it unopened filament. The filament was purchased 3 years ago when I bought the Tantillus. As you can see I haven't used my printer very much I do most of my printing at work now and need a larger build volume. My printer has beeby Lisa M - Tantillus
...and it's working beautifully. Thank you!by Lisa M - Tantillus
Er... I was using the ones you uploaded. I missed Pokey's. I'll try that. Thanks!by Lisa M - Tantillus
Hmmm... I'm still having trouble getting KISSlicer to do a different infill other than default. It saves my files as (0) When I try to "Save Settings" it crashes on Windows 7. When I choose "Close Settings Window" it reverts to default. Anyone found a way to fix this? I really like everything else about the output.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Yup. X-axis moved to the right in + soooo.... I flipped the connector and now hopefully text will not come out mirrored etc. I thought if axis were plugged in the wrong way, then wouldn't move out across the platform and would instead try to move past 0. Which is why I though mine was okay initially. Thanks for the troubleshoot!by Lisa M - Tantillus
I'm thinking I wasn't imagining things when I posted this issue way back in September. I printed out tjhj2's SD Clip and it was backwards. My SD card would be popping out towards the back of the machine instead of the front. At first I dismissed this as the wiring on my sd ramps being done differently so the cable was on the opposite side of tjhj2's. I reworked the file in sketchup reversingby Lisa M - Tantillus
Tried... but no luck. Could be related to one other issue too. I'll PM you Sublime.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Kewl. I will give that a try Thr./Fri. Thanks!by Lisa M - Tantillus
I got the fan you sent and both my fans were plugged in today and I tested them, ...but they are not working at all so I took them off again. I think I damaged more than just the fan capacitor yesterday and I didn't want to leave them plugged into the board. Everything else on the printer seems to be working fine and KISSlicer is definitely an improvement. If I can get the fan situation sortby Lisa M - Tantillus
Question: How do you change the infill setting? I found the spot where I thought it should be, changed the infill, and then went to print but my object's infill was still the default amount. I'm trying to print a 100% infill object and the default aint gonna cut it.by Lisa M - Tantillus
I'm trying it and liking it. There is a definite difference. These mini fig legs were done with .35 nozzle on fine setting. My printer currently is without fans and I have never adjusted the z offset in the old or kisslicer adjusted firmware. So.... maybe my prints could look even better.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Printer is printing (sans fans) and all seems to be going well. Soooooo.... at least I didn't blow the board. The capacitor blowing probably saved me a bunch of bucks. Which brings me to my next question. Why do I need fans? The print looks pretty good. The fans are noisy and despite this I forgotten they are there a few times (which is how I broke one in the first place). Do they help contrby Lisa M - Tantillus
Okay, it looks like all I did was blow the capacitor on the fan line. Phew ...so if I take the wire off the fan I broke and attach it to the one good fan that I blew the capacitor on, I should be back in business right?by Lisa M - Tantillus
I'm thinking me and Tantillus do not like each other. Seriously! New resistor has done one print. I broke a fan so I'm down to one fan while waiting for a new one. Removed one fan from board because it was noisy. Thought I made sure red cable was at the + for the fan. Had my glasses on ...carefully plugged it all in. I got it all set up. Homed the axis. Power was on everything was lookinby Lisa M - Tantillus
LOL... well my splice didn't even make it into the bowden tube ...thought it was smoother than it was. I'm contemplating what would happen if I bought some 3mm diameter metal tubing and put both ends of filament inside and heated up said tubing. would that create a nice smooth splice.. or would the metal just get stuck to the splice point. Hmm.... Restarted with a smaller print as bed time apby Lisa M - Tantillus
Back in business. Swapped out the resistor. The replacement resistor was definitely peanut shaped so I wrapped it in foil. Hopefully it'll do the trick. I have to admit when I first built this think I didn't understand that the purpose of the resistor was to generate heat (I'd always understood that they resisted current ...not that I have any electronics background other than the little I leby Lisa M - Tantillus
Pretty sure it didn't look like this when I installed it. ...blurry cuz I took photo with iPhone. Is it normal for it to turn white in the middle? I am concerned about this issue because I've actually gotten very little use out of the machine (I haven't even completed 10 prints on this thing). It seems to me that's a little soon for a resistor to be dying. Maybe I just got a bad one?by Lisa M - Tantillus
Okay, I managed to find a multi-meter but even after look at the tutorial I have no idea how I would apply it in this case or what exactly it is that I'm testing. I think I'm going to just swap out the resistor and keep my fingers crossed that my issue will be solved.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Thanks again WWP. I like the industrial yellow color. I had tonka trucks as a kid and a few tools be DeWalt. Yellow plastic makes me feel manly. I will see if I can get my hands on a multimeter and check out some online tutorials.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Hi WWP, The red LED 4 on the board lights up when I try to heat the hotend. Unfortunately, according to the LED display panel the hot end is not heating up past room temperature so the fan won't turn on. Unfortunately I do not have access to a multimeter ...or even the first clue about how to use one if I had one. Maybe I will buy a multimeter and see if I can figure it out.by Lisa M - Tantillus
I haven't been home much lately and was finally excited to have a night where I could be around to print out a kewl little project. I heated up filament and unloaded it and put the new color in. I turned off the machine then inserted my sd card with the print project. I turned machine on and it would not heat up. What the?!? It was just working seconds before. It looks like the thermistor anby Lisa M - Tantillus

I made a rest for the extruder motor mount. I had my motor mount break and I'm still not sure why it happened. So I thought this might help ...or not. Anyway, here it is on thingiverse.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Yup I let it finish and the numbers didn't print. I didn't try opening it with Blender so I'll have to try that. However I have imported STL's into sketchup a few times before and this is the first one that I haven't been able to import. I don't know what meshlab is although I'm guessing I'll have to find out at some point.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Hi Sublime, Your file isn't working either. I tried to look at it to see how it was different from mine but I can't import it into Sketchup, I get an error that says something about ASCII. I can import other STL files into Sketchup to look at them, but not this one. It didn't print any numbers or the hole for the keyring. It just printed a border and an infill.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Okay, will do. Thanks for the info and for re-working my file.by Lisa M - Tantillus
1. Make keytag in sketchup (remake of old one that printed backwards ...lost the file) 2. Convert to stl using sketchup plugin 3. Upload to Netfabb to fix any errors in stl 4. Use Slic3r to convert to gcode. Home position back right corner. Turn machine on. This time the print failed completely and it was difficult to tell how it was oriented. It just printed the outside border. What am I doby Lisa M - Tantillus
