I've encountered a inconvenient error recently during some prints. I print directly from an sd card through the gadgets3d LCD screen, but during 2 spearate prints i've had the screen display "waiting for user" about halfway or less into the prints. Nothing seems to be able to restart the print, pressing the knob does nothing, nor does pausing and resuming the print via the menu. I've checked tby Zhangx - Printing
Hi, I would like to start printing in abs, but so far have only had experience with pla. I've seen some tips for abs include "abs juice" made from acetone and abs, and also would like to try some acetone vapour treatment in the future. I was wondering whether it would be possible to use nail polish remover for these purposes or whether the other solutes in it hinder it's effectiveness / usabilby Zhangx - General
I reacently been getting some quite good prints on my mendel90 with a variety of layer heights and two nozzle sizes (0.5mm and 0.35mm), however with all of the prints I've experienced a problem with the first few layers, as they all seem to to slightly too large. The prints all have a first layer about 1 mm larger than the rest of the print, quickly tapering (after the 3rd layer) to the correct sby Zhangx - Mendel90
Thanks for the replies. It seems the problem was with my version of pronterface, and I've replaced it now. It works well now with the M302 codeby Zhangx - Mendel90
I've just completed the build of my mendel90 and i'm trying to calibrate it now. The XYZ axes all work perfectly fine and move correctly. However I'm unable to get the extruder motor to move (Marlin firmware, pronterface and RAMPS 1.4), using the controls in marlin. When i press extrude all it comes up with is "event object missing", refusing to move the motor. I've currently removed the hot endby Zhangx - Mendel90
I'm self sourcing my own machine, but I'm trying to follow as closely as i can the dibond manual. I have a 310W atx power supply (Delta 310W Power Supply (DPS-310CB A) (17a on 12v rail) , and was wondering if the steps outlined in the manual can be applicable for other atx power supply units, particularly when using all of the yellow (12v) wires together (a friend raised concerns about differenby Zhangx - Mendel90
Hi, I'm self sourcing parts for my printer (first one), but i'm curious about the material for the y carriage. Currently what i have available from previous projects is: 6mm plywood, with a bit of warping about 2mm difference in height, 10 mm acrylic, which is basically completely flat 9mm plywood with minimal warping (less than the 6mm plywood) 15mm chipboard- from a table which is completelyby Zhangx - Mendel90

I'm about to purchase some ribbon cable from ebay for use on a mendel90 I'm currently building. The cable is a 40 way cable (as is it the cheapest option- which i will then split to the correct size), however, each strand is rated to 300V 1A, is this enough to be used on a mendel90 or should i think about purchasing one with a higher current rating. Also, if anyone had any alternative places toby Zhangx - Mendel90
Thanks for the reply, I didn't really think too much about the smooth rods flexing. I would like to stick to 8mm rods to keep costs low, so would it be advisable to use 8mm 304 stainless steel rods for a z height of 250mm or 300mm?by Zhangx - Mendel90
Hi, I've been experimenting with different variables on the Openscad files for the Mendel90. I've decided to keep the standard Y and X axis travel of 200mm so i can still use the Prusa heat bed, however I've been thinking about extending the Z axis travel to around 300mm or maybe even higher( up to 400mm), so i can print tall items- such as vases. The cost to do this shouldn't be too much, as Iby Zhangx - Mendel90
