I set it to 94.12 steps mm...ran a test for X and Y of 100mm dog bones from Tom Sanladerer calibration parts...measures perfect... but when I do a smaller part say 10x10x10 block it's way off as you seen in previous posting...by 09zx-6r - Mendel90

whats the mounting distance difference ? as far as the opening i can modify it... but the mount, you said is bigger, whats the spec for it? better yet, give me all the specs u want it to be.. ill tweak it..by 09zx-6r - Mendel90

ok so i printed it.. what exactly am i too measure and mathematically figure out?by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
lol wow dude you just made it sound complicated. im assuming you mean just measure it in all directions.? ill give it a whirl right now...by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
MY mendel is the dibond version made in aluminum...but here's the link to it... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:91931by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
get on thingverse.com.. there is one on there... and the duct is a angled fan with low profile... just search mendel90 duct... theres a few to choose from...i have the same j-head and had the same issue...by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
for those that need more info, test 1 X 10.38mm @ 94.12 steps Y 10.36mm @ 94.12 steps Z 9.88mm @ 1200*8/3 or 3200 steps test 2 X 10.44mm @ 94.50 Y 10.36mm @ 94.50 <-- stayed the same as previous Z 10.05mm @ 1199 <-- increased in mm ? test 3 X 10.43mm @ 94.00 <-- increased with less steps? Y 10.40mm @ 94.00 <-- increased with less steps? Z 9.93mm @ 1199.50 <--- increaby 09zx-6r - Mendel90
Ok so I've setup everything per the mendel90 instructions from nophead..iv ran at least 20 test cubes and not one of em are correct in dimensions...the block is 10x10x10..so Iv been adjusting the steps per MM and it doesn't seem to do anything. I started with the prusa calculated suggested steps. X,Y @ 94.12. & Z @ 3200 steps.. I did the extruder calibration as well which is spot on...extrudeby 09zx-6r - Mendel90
i had this issue for a while and battled it for nothing... come to find out its the extruder step per MM that are off... i re-calibrated from scratch, and viola, perfect every time..by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
nice plankton, but im wondering the same thing neil is...by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
Your the man...just what I needed.. thanks...by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
i need it for slic3r if u could help me, that would be great...by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
ok so im up and printing, everything works great... but i have questions for when the print is done, 1. the extruder turns off as it should, but the bed doesnt...is this normal ? if not, how do i change marlin to turn it off after each print? <-- or is that something to do with the G-code in Slicer? 2. how do i get it to home itself after the print and in X, Z, Y order? 3. if i want to usby 09zx-6r - Mendel90
FIXED and PRINTING !!! THANKS PLANKTONby 09zx-6r - Mendel90
i made all four of your suggested changes... and nothing happens now... says "Endstops Hit: Z" and nothing will work thru pronterface... so i sent a g28 command to home all... but only the x and y moved...so i closed the switch to Z and resent the code... then they all moved but the Z axis only moved about 1mm...by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
what pin number is "#define Z_MIN_PIN " in the Pins.h....? i chaned it and didnt even think to save a copy before hand... <---- never mind found it... pin 18 however, do i make all 4 changes?by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
yeah its nopheads design....but made of aluminum... only difference is i run the ramps 1.4 setup... everything else is the same...by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
M114 says everything is at 0 so how do i switch it?by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
So i set up everything and calibrated all directions for my mendel90 dibond/aluminuim... i can manually set movements to exact distances in pronterface... when i home all, they all move to the end stops as they should... the X endstop at the right, Y endstop at the front, Z endstop at the top...in HOME position the X carriage is at the top right of the printer...Y carriage at the front, and Z aby 09zx-6r - Mendel90
FIXED IT,,, WOO HOO GO ME!!! so the bed was 2.7ohms from pad 1 to pad 2... however, if i tie pad 2 and 3 together and retest, i get 1.6 ohms from pad 1 to pad 2&3... so i soldered it up, re tested the AT PID, and VIOLA... 12vdc at the bed and reaches 90C in 3:27 (min:sec)... Passed PID autotune... THANKS NOPHEADby 09zx-6r - Mendel90
what type of heat bed do u supply? im using the MK2B prusa bed... i have a feeling that my power supply isnt enough on the voltage side... im thinking of a dedicated 12v30a supply and not a ATX PSU, or at least the one i have in there...only because when its on and no load the PSU is outputting 12.25 to the ramps board but when loaded with anything on, its 11.7 - 11.9 at the bed, extruder, motby 09zx-6r - Mendel90
ok so i ran it again... PSU is outputting 12.25vdc to ramps board with NO load.. when running heat bed its sending 11.92vdc... bed resistance is 2.1 ohms... voltage to bed is 11.76vdc... i disabled BED PID and re-ran it to 90C thru pronterface... well it didnt work to well... the thermistor read 72 of 90 and it took 15:37 (min:sec) to get there, i would have kept it on but when i put a thermoby 09zx-6r - Mendel90
so im trying to get my printer to do the auto tune feature... the hot end AT PID runs great... but when i run my AT PID for the bed it starts ok then quits... it then responds with an error, like ::: running the command M303 E-1 C8 S90 ok B:62.96 @:127 ok B:62.96 @:127 PID Autotune failed! timeout ok T:23.0 /0.0 B:63.1 /0.0 T0:23.0 /0.0 @:0 B@:127 i tried to figure out what the deal was,by 09zx-6r - Mendel90
how exactly can i use D9 for a fan? i cant find it in the Marlin FW... is it in the config...h tab? i have MB33 selected and running...by 09zx-6r - RAMPS Electronics
ok so im lookin at the marlin firmware and have a bunch of tabs at the top of the sceen, but i cant get to the other tabs in the firmware... and yes iv used the drop down menu to get to some of the others, but i cant get to about 10 other tabs... i tried the ctrl+alt+right / left to change tabs but it rotates my screen... how do i get to the other tabs?by 09zx-6r - Controllers
